Obviously this is an adorable bit but I'm so struck by how different this is from so many little kid shows today like.......the muted colors. no background noise. no sound effects. you can literally hear Jim Henson breathing between his lines. Ernie is talking very slowly, meandering, letting the kids digest the info. it's a full minute before you get the payoff of it all. man

they're approx 18" tall, & radri's ~1/4" shorter than xan, so they actually have kind of a height difference!
xan's bag can hold his spellbook, and coincidentally can also fit the other merch i've made of them at this point
they have magnets to kiss and hold hands :) there are also magnets in xan's spellbook & radri's journal to let the books close & attach to their hands, xan's cloak to attach it to his robes, xan's circlet to keep it on his forehead, and radri's cloak clasp to attach it to her cloak
i dyed all the brown minky for radri, and bc the process was unpredictable i dyed multiples of every pattern piece so that i could pick out the ones i actually wanted to use on the final plush. there's a slight unevenness in every piece, but it helps sell the leather look & doesn't look as mottled in real life as it does in the photos so i think it was worth it :)
i had to remake xan's cloak bc fabric bulk and other mishaps caused the first one to come out a little too short for him, so xan now has a spare cloak, true to the mod
they've taken me about 4 months to make--from first altering the base pattern, to creating patterns for their hair/outfits, to getting the fabric, to getting more fabric in a better color, to dyeing some of the fabric to a better color, to figuring out how to dye the fabric without ruining it, to steaming the fabric, to cutting the fabric, to sewing them all together, to adding the magnets and skeletons and stuffing, to creating their clothes & accessories, and to finally taking pictures of them. truly a labor of love
