Thomas Hunt was never one for idle chat and preferred to keep most conversations concise and to the point. Â If he was completely honest, most individuals failed to hold his attention for long, which made any attempts at extensive dialogue decisively difficult. Â However tonight, as the host of The Last Duchess wrap party, he was obligated to at least aknowledge each of the partygoers and personally thank them for their support of the new film. Â Therefore he had stationed himself within observing distance of the only entrance to the festivities, allowing him ample opportunity to greet each incoming guest. Â But the fact that he also had his eye out for the star of the film had, admittedly, little to do with the movie they were promoting.

This takes place before the events of the book when Damien and Ariana were âjust friendsâ. It was an anon request from an OTP ask list for âWhich one picks the other up like a lost puppy in the rain?â It was supposed to be a drabble, but then I happened and it became a one-shot⌠Is anyone surprised? Ariana sat in the diner booth, eyes glazing over as she listened to the drip her cousin Marcos set her up with drone on about tax code. When he wasnât yammering about the intricacies of Federal tax law, he was whining about his ex and how she never appreciated him. Ariana had only known this guy for an hour and she already sympathized with the poor woman.
After an eternity in purgatory, the check arrived, and Dud snatched it up, pulled a pen from his front shirt pocket and proceeded to scribble her total on a paper napkin, complete with tax and tip, of course.
âWould you like to go for a drink somewhere?â He asked, sliding the napkin to her like he was making some black market bid. âIâm not sure where people go to have fun, but maybe you do?â
âSorry, I canât.â Ariana pushed her lips into an exaggerated pout, âI have to meet with my publisher in the morning.â
âOh, youâre a writer?â Taking a sip of his apple juice, he looked over his glass with his eyebrow raised.
â⌠a Novelist, I told you that.â
âWell, if youâre ever looking for a tax guy, you know who to call.â He tried to wink, but his other eye closed before the first was even halfway shut.
âYep, sure do.â Ariana reached down into her bag on the floor, pulled out her wallet and counted out the exact amount of her âbillâ. She placed it on the napkin and slid it back to him before standing up. âThanks for having dinner with meâŚâ She chewed on her lip, trying to remember his name, but her mind remained blank. âUh⌠thanks.âÂ

29. Clean (September Fanfic Challenge)
A/N: Good god⌠Iâm done. Itâs done. I did it. And it was so much fun. I got to explore a brand new OTP that Iâm in love with and fell back in love with writing after a very difficult summer session for my masterâs.
Summary: When Riley convinces the group to go on a juice cleanse, not everyone is happy about it.
Drake was annoyed, heâd go so far to use the word livid in fact. This was absurd and the fact that he felt compelled to go along with it was idiotic of him. Even more idiotic than the time he agreed to share a train cabin with Maxwell for an entire summer. He felt weak, he was exhausted since he couldnât sleep, and on occasion he was a bit dizzy. From lack of nourishment. This was insane. No human was meant to survive off of plants alone.

A/N: One fic left to go⌠Iâm so close and thatâs 30 fics in 30 days with a bunch of trips and a surprise party and coursework. Iâm exhausted. A request from @writerxdreamer, sorry it took so long.
Summary: Savannah and Bertrand head to Texas to help her mother pack up for a move back to Cordonia.
Bertrand had known this day was coming for some time now and even with as much Savannah tried to quell his fears around it, he could hardly function now that they were seated on a plane, bound for Texas.

summary: lacey canât help reminiscing at her last college party.Â
This was the end. The end of an era. The end of her time here. The end of her time being a college student. Lacey Montgomery had graduated with a Bachelorâs degree in journalism just five hours ago. The party at the place she shared with Kate was now in full swing. Never liking to stand out of the crowd, Lacey stayed sitting on the couch, holding a cheap beer, and watching Kate. Their lease was up in July. Would they even ever see one another again. Kate was always so good with people in a way that Lacey wasnât. She could be charming if she needed to be to get the story, but not the way Kate was. Everyone loved Kate. Even Lacey. Especially Lacey.
