hold this for a second. / from harley quinn
For a brief moment, there's a puzzled look on his face, followed by an exaggerated 'Beg pardon?' expression. Then he simply shrugs and roughly snatches the offered item from Harley's hand.
"Mmmmm, let's see." Wiry hands quickly open the harlequin's purse and the Joker shamelessly starts rummaging through its contents like a kid searching for candy.
"Whadda we got here?.." He murmurs, totally absorbed in his task. The Agent of Chaos takes zero interest in her cellphone or wallet, casually throwing the things away along with the bubblegum he's found. A smirk twists his scarred mouth when he fishes out a tiny pocket knife and a bottle of mace. He nods in approval but continues his search.
"Ahhh!" he exclaims, dexterous fingers extracting a tiny object -- a red Maybelline lipstick -- and a connoisseur he is, Joker raises his eyebrows dramatically, closely examining the crimson shade. "Finders, keepers." He clicks his tongue. "I'm taking this one."

Not sure if... serious?
These words make him blink. Twice. Joker's eyes narrow and brows furrow in confusion -- he's not sure if he's heard Batman correctly. The Batman's. asking. for his help? Really? Reaaaaaallllyyyy? Oh this is already so much fun. Even if this is another hallucination. The Joker can't really tell with all the Thorazine in his system they keep pumping him with these days. He wonders what might actually happen that his arch-nemesis would come to him, of all people.
He can't help it anymore -- loud maniacal cackling is now echoing off the walls of Arkham Asylum. The Agent of Chaos can't tell if it's a joke or not -- and that's what makes it even more hilarious.
"Ooooh, poor little Bat is desperate!" he announces, his voice is hoarse from both laughter and dehydration. "Ah, come on, spit out out already, Bat-man, I'm all ears!" He nods enthusiastically, encouraging the other to continue.
"But, before you do, I have a question." He bats his eyelashes at the masked vigilante, mocking. "What do I get in return?"

It felt strange to question herself, yet, ever since she came here it felt like those thick walls that allowed her to analyze were beginning to crumble, leaving room for doubt. What she did recognize was that she had formed something like an attachment to one of her patients, The Joker, such a dangerous game to play, but she had full control of the situation, right?

Harleen's distant gaze returned to her patient and their most recent conversation, her. With anyone as she would feel the need to lie, an act of false confidence, of course I know how to read them! Psycho-analyzing allows me to become them to understand them. Which, perhaps some of it was true, maybe it was her getting too deep into the minds of the 'criminally insane' that left her feeling lost and at night finding herself trying to, and on some occasions getting to the bottom of a bottle just to get some proper amount of sleep.
No, he got honesty. "I'm not so sure of that one, " The blonde paused for a moment, her thoughts attempting to collect themselves before she continued. Glacial blue eyes turned to focus on his eyes, "Would you say after our sessions that I am remotely close to understanding you?"
Gardens. An idea suddenly crossed his twisted mind while he was watching the pretty therapist thoroughly consider his every word. Oh, he liked how carefully she was trying to choose what she said to him, each session with him akin to walking through minefields. Mindfields. Fields. So, he thought, if he wasn't who he was, he'd be a pretty good gardener. Planting seeds and watch them grow. Grow into something... beautiful. All you needed was time. And he had plenty. He'd wait.
He could see the thoughts on that pretty face playing like a movie. The doctor was thinking too loud. Each session, each time they sat across each other, it wasn't about him. Each time, she was questioning herself. Her morals. And who she really was. But, the gentlemen he was, he'd do her a favor. The Joker was about to show her her true self. She was about to see.
"Wanna know.. what I think?" Joker drawled lazily, dark-circled eyes glimmering with amusement. He smacked his lips, continuing.
"I think we had understanding between us from the moment we first saw each other." He leaned in further as much as the restraints allowed him. "Wouldn't you agree, Doc-tor Quin-zellllll?"
