With rape (which only accounts for 1% of abortions) we don’t want the rape victim to suffer the consequences associated with abortion. In the event a rape victim does become pregnant, she needs support and not additional violence. Abortions can cause major depression and PTSD in some women — not something that would be good for a woman already dealing with the trauma of rape. I would never recommend abortion to a rape victim because of the possible negative effects it can have on her as opposed to childbirth: “Fetal loss seems to expose women to a higher risk for mental disorders than childbirth; some studies show that abortion can be considered a more relevant risk factor than miscarriage.” Abortion also triples your maternal mortality rate: “Births have a positive effect on longevity while pregnancy losses have a negative effect, with negative effect of TOP (Termination of Pregnancy) being greater than that of natural losses.” Death from suicide is even higher after an abortion compared to pregnancy or birth.

Post-abortive women have higher rates of drug and alcohol abuse. They have higher rates of suicidal thoughts and attempt suicide more often. “Within 12 months of the abortion or live delivery, Scandinavian women who aborted experienced a suicide rate of 34.9 per 1000, compared to a suicide rate of 5.9 per 1000 for women who delivered their babies.  This is a suicide rate nearly six times greater.” Post-abortive women are more likely than the general population to seek counseling or hospitalization for depression.

Abortion has many risk factors and harms women, including increasing their risk of breast cancer:  “A 2013 analysis revealed a 44% increased risk of breast cancer among females who had at least one induced abortion. The relative risk increased to 76% and 89% for those who had at least two or three abortions, respectively.”

We don’t want any woman to ever deal with these risks with abortion. If a woman finds herself pregnant, the baby is still her child, too. There’s no reason her child should receive the death penalty when they are a victim, too. The rape victim’s life has value, her child’s life has value. No matter how you were conceived, you should always have that chance at life.

Also, we are pro-birthers, not forced-birthers. Abortion methods force birth. 

I mean, I get the point. Americans shouldn't make comparisons. But are you really telling me the guards who raped women protestors were all for letting them get abortions? That forcibly impregnating them was one thing, but making them carry the pregnancy to term was going too far?

Americans stop assuming that because something awful happens in your country it must also be happening in the middle east challenge.

Perpetrating the outdated, patriarchal ideals of fatherhood ownership harms victims of rape and literally kills innocent children. It also slows down the progress of terminating parental rights of a rapist. Places like TN where a rapist can be denied parental rights only exist because of pro-life activists who refuse to accept the demonizing of literal children.

You have forced children to give birth. You have forced women to give birth to babies with their organs outside their bodies.

And you imply that forcing rape victims to have a parasite live inside them unrapes them.
