HAPPY 12TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY PRINCE AND PRINCESS OF WALES!

On this day, 12 years ago, 29 April 2011, at 11 o'clock His Royal Highness Prince William of Wales and Miss Catherine Middleton were married in Westminster Abbey.

Maybe those that are new to royal watching don’t know but there is a cycle of bad press that’s followed William and Kate over the years over their lack of workload. Its come up when the renovations of Apartment 1A at KP were public, the renovations at Anmer Hall, William’s stints at raf search and rescue and east anglia air ambulance were finished. Now that the lens on Harry has come off, people might notice that the numbers William and Kate have put up are not getting progressively larger in terms of workload. I don’t think everyone expects them to equal Anne’s numbers, but there does need to be improvement. This is one of those things over the years I have seen that could be easily fixed, but just has not.

I used to make excuses for them, but I started feeling like a fool for doing so after 2017, and lately I find myself rolling my eyes at people who are saying the same things I used to say myself a decade ago.

I think a plain white boatneck dress and gloves worn slightly shorter would have made the look a bit more cohesive while still being quite similar to what we saw.

If she had worn the long gloves that just cover the elbow instead of the gloves that almost go to your armpit it would have looked better. I give her points for being adventurous but a gold purse would have been better - match her shoes. The earrings are great but not with that dress. It's all too much.

I'm just having trouble wrapping my head around it all. I love it all separately. I love some elements together. But ALL together it's just not working for me.

I think you're right - shorter gloves might have made it okay. But that still doesn't solve the problem of the shoes and earrings being drastically different from everything else.

I wish she had worn her silver vamp sandals, midnight blue gloves, a silver clutch, and some sapphire earrings.

Also FWIW - I loved the dress in it's original form but THIS is a huge improvement and I love it.

It's the gloves... the armpit length black gloves are just too much of a harsh contrast against the dress and the earrings.

The black and the gloves as a look is sexy and modern. The white dress (even modified) is floaty and romantic. They don’t gel as a cohesive look. Then the hair and earrings muddy it up a bit more.
