Rows of scientific equipment seemed to poke out from the tables like the claws of strange, shadowy ghost Pokémon. The rows of bookshelves seemed to go on forever and even the indoor plants felt like they were a little TOO still.
Dubwool must have picked up on what Hop was feeling because it edged closer to him. Leaning protectively against his leg.
“Hey, you don’t have to worry,” Hop patted the space on top of Dubwool’s head between its horns. “It’s not a big deal, it’s just...kind of quiet in here.”
Hop grinned as he walked around the desk and toward the kitchenette near the entrance of the lab. Dubwool followed behind him. It’s hooves clicking on the wooden floor.
Hop was glad he had Dubwool there with him. He hadn’t noticed before because he had been too busy studying, but now that he was up and moving around, he realized how eerily quiet the lab was at night. Especially without Sonia or her Yamper around.
