The way you change your immediate reactions to things is that you catch yourself having an uncharitable/bigoted/overly judgmental thought and you catch it and replace it and then you do that a hundred times a day for your whole life and eventually one day like five years later you realize that you think differently now and you’ll always be working on something but that’s how life goes and that’s fine.

Started doing calls this morning, i fear i might be dead by the end of the day.

online communities are so strange because people slip away so easily. you can be on here for years, folding people you've never met into the fabric of your daily life, and then they disappear, leaving only ghost posts scattered across tumblr behind. or their blog stays dormant, for weeks, months, years, until you're only still following them because you remember that they love sunflowers or they were kind to you when they didn't have to be or the last thing they posted was sad and raw and you still worry about them sometimes.

and sometimes they come back when you least expect it, years later, even, and there's this sudden rush of relief like there you are, there you are, even though you barely knew each other.

there's a strange kind of love to it. i don't know you and i want to hold your hand across miles and time zones and oceans. i can still see the imprint of you in this community you left. you don't anyone will notice or care when you're gone, but we notice and we care and we wish you well.

i hope you're all okay out there. i hope the sun is shining on your face and you are breathing deeply. i miss you.

What is the ✨favorite ✨thing you like about yourself 💖?

I like many things about myself, but the first that comes to mind is being a Jack of All Trades. I know this is supposed to make me a Master of None, but this isn't about being good at something. It's my will to try any skill or hobby at least once because I have many interests and I can't know how hard it'll be until I try it. If it's something I really can't do or enjoy, then I'll have the peace of mind that I at least tried.

My mom has this very bad case of "I suck at this, I can't do it". She doesn't have experience in doing the thing, of course she won't good at it right away. We have to give ourselves the chance to be bad before we can get better.

Even then, if the thing gives me joy, then my prowess at it becomes secondary.
