“We were supposed to play flip cup but so far we’re only preparing with pre-drinks,” Molly explained as she raised her cup and drank its content. “You’re welcome to join of course. And it’ll be even better if you can bring in more people.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Supposed to be? You’re not gettin that started. It’s probably one of the easiest ways for everyone to get drunk,” Candice replied, having played it a few times in her youth, “I will gladly accept the invitation. I don’t need an excuse to get drunk but at least if I et drunk, I can blame it on something,” she joked.

“Mmm, I wouldn’t say the whole thing, but a good chunk of it, but I wasn’t really eavesdropping I swear. Seems like an interesting conversation to try to have at a party. Though, I suppose maybe you would like a drink after that.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“It wasn’t really a conversation. It was a voicemail because my calls are bein dodged,” Candice explained, “Just wanted to call her before I got drunk, tell her about the game and about some of her friends that I’ve run into. uess she’ll never know.”

“Those are all great,” she admitted as Candice listed some off. “Exactly. We’re just here to party,” Willow agreed with a laugh at the other’s comment about just wanting to get drunk. “I do like the vibe of that last one. Although we might need to narrow some things down– there’s not enough alcohol with how much people are talking Quidditch here,” she pointed out.
Tumblr media
Candice laughed, “Well yes, of course. I wasn’t suggesting we just drink when we hear people talking about quidditch. There definitely needs to be specific phrases or topics that we here or we’ll be blind drunk.”

“We were playing King’s Cup but I think we’re going to go for a new one,” Willow replied, watching as somebody else in the group was tucking away the deck of cards. “Any suggestions? I’m sure you’ve got a favorite, no?”
Tumblr media
"A few. I mean there are the classics like Never Have I Ever and Truth, Dare or Down Your Drink. Or there could be something more catered like, drink when you hear or see something around us that’s quidditch related,” Candice reeled off some ideas, “I don’t know if I have a favourite. At this point, whatever gets me drunk, right?”

“It’s called ‘suck it Americans’ and you drink every time you hear a whine or a complain coming from one of them,” Aurora replied smoothly, shrugging. She had already had a couple of drinks and she needed to get something to drink or else that evening would have to be cut short.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Ouch,” Candice replied with a light chuckle, “I suppose that is one way to get very, very drunk. Is it cheating if I’m the American who complains about it?” She joked.

“Did you say drinking game?” Candice asked. She couldn’t remember the last time she’d played one and she was already pretty tipsy in the midst of her partying. What harm could it do? She smiled, “Which one are you playing? And can I join?”

Even though Cassius was a Quidditch fan and wanted to go see the world cup, all his enthusiasm evaporated as soon as his father ordered him to go on his behalf. Gone were his plans to dress casually and hang out with his friends. Instead he needed to kiss some asses and watch his every word. He was disappointed when his team lost, but he was still their proud supporter. “It was a great game, I’m sure we’ll do better next time,” he repeated for the billionth time when someone tapped him on the shoulder.

Candice took one look at her cousin and knew that he was not happy which she knew to only mean one thing. When she found her opportunity, she tapped on his shoulder, “You need an escape?” She asked quietly. It was something they’d always done at parties. They were expected to represent their respective parts of the family as the eldest child of each, “You know, I saw Mr and Mrs Gregson not long ago. I’m sure they’d love to say hi,” she said a little louder for anyone around to hear as an excuse for him to leave for a few minutes. The Cresswells didn’t know any Gregsons but nobody else needed to know that.

“Willow, hey!” Candice said, spotting her brother’s friend with a smile, “Do you mind if I sit with you for a bit?” She asked, gesturing around the coffee shop with her cup in hand, “I didn’t realise it would be so busy here today.”

“Oh crap, sorry!” Candice said as she bumped into the other and knocked everything out of both of their arms, “Are you okay? You aren’t hurt, are you? Let me help you pick up your stuff.”

“You know, at some point you’re going to have to talk to me again. I’m not planning on giving up,” Candice said, “Bye, mom. Love you,” she hung up the phone and only then realised there was someone in earshot, “Wow, that’s embarrassing. How much of my family drama did you hear?” She asked, laughing half-heartedly.

“I could have sworn it was here,” Candice said and then cursed loudly, “Damn it! I wish people would stop just leaving things on my desk with no consideration of what is already on it,” she looked up at the other, “Sorry, I do have that file. I just need a minute to find it.”

Candice sighed and rolled her eyes as the man walked away, “I wish people would just mind their own busines. I mean, who gave the men the audacity to just come up to random woman and give their opinion on their actions? Literally no one.”

“A metal charmer huh?” Candice repeated, “I don’t think I’ve ever met one, let alone heard of that. What exactly is it that you do? If you don’t mind me asking that is.”

Candice heard footsteps and wiped her tears away quickly, sniffling. She turned very quickly to see who it was and then turned away again, “Aurora, hey,” she said, “Have you got a tissue by any chance?” She asked, “Sorry, I’ve just got allergies.”

“Excuse me,” Candice tapped the nearest shoulder, “I’m a little turned around. I’m looking for the Department of Magical Transportation. Do you know which way that is?” She asked, “I know I should probably know my way around with how long I’ve worked here but it’s not a department I’m often in,” she explained, “Neither is this one.”

“Well that was unfortunate. He’s got a pretty face, it’d be a shame to mark that.” Natalya admitted with a laugh. “But I suppose if anyone would get away with it, it’d be family.” From the expression on Candice’s face though, things had worked themselves out. “Doll, you are always up to my standards but I am always going to encourage you to be your best, knockout self.”

“He recovered just fine. Complained like a bitch for a week though,” Candice replied, laughing, “Knockout? That is highly complimentary, careful or I might start to develop an ego,” she joked, “What time shall we meet up then?”
