“Is this… for me?” The gigantic vulture asks, crouching down before you as you offer up the flower before him. He reaches down with far more gentleness than you had ever seen from him, pinching the teensy flower between the tips of two massive talons. He squints at it for a moment, before his optics widen slightly upon realizing just what he was holding.
“I… I see.” Carrion’s unsure how to respond, he’s been given more gifts today than he’s likely ever been given his whole existence. The polite thing to do would be to say thank you, but he’s never really said those words genuinely before, most often dripping with sarcasm… part of him wanted to just leave it at that, this creature before him wasn’t logically worth any of his time, but…
Then, you’re gesturing for him to pick you up. He does so without question, pinching your waist between the tips of his index and thumb of his free hand. Once you’re close enough to his face, you lean in to kiss him on the cheek— and though he did not show it, that truly takes Carrion aback. Outwardly, the most he offers is an awkward “um… thank you,” even looking somewhat disgusted.
But as he places you back down to the ground, you catch the faintest glimpse of where he tucked the flower you gave him— right into his fluffy, white feathered collar.

Awwwww 😭 so cute
Okay, I did some calculations. If I base Subi on G1 and Beast War sizes, she would be about 240 cm/7'10, but in IDW1, she'd be around 450 cm/approx. 15 feet tall. She'd practically be half Carrion's size, as he's almost 8 meters tall. I can just imagine Carrion lifting up Subi like an unruly child and dragging her to her habsuite since she likes sleeping in weird places. Or she's hyperfocused on her job and didn't recharge in the past 3 days (usually if she's operating on some poor sod who got injured severely)

I FINALLY FINISHED SPYRISE!!
About time too, I was thinking about taking a hiatus before I finished 😅
Now some lore time!! (Not much cuz i really like his lore)
Spy Rise was in the family business of private investigators. Just like his father/creator, Spy Rise is one hell of a detective. Ain't nothing getting past him nor his skills. In fact, his investigation style is around 95% accurate with some wiggle room of course. Nothing is really hidden from him. Any kind of gossip, rumor, or even hidden knowledge he most likely has. Making him great for his field of work.
He is the definition of confidentiality, any secret told to him will never be revealed. Regardless of what the secret is. However, this makes it a bit hard for others to connect with him. Often, when Beauo or anyone tries to strum up a normal conversation with Spy Rise, he gives very vague and short answers. Often saying "That's classified" or "that is none of your business." This is not to say he's a jerk, he just doesn't want to risk of spilling information to the wrong person.
However, there are moments where someone can pry a bit of information from him... but its not for free. He'll gladly trade information for information, depending on the topic of interest. But it has to be something he doesn't know of. This can be difficult as he is quite the history buff.
In fact, Spy Rise is so careful with sharing information that he rarely tells the portal master anything that doesn't pertain her. Not even about his outside is known, which makes people think he's an assassin that's pretending to be a skylander. This rumor doesn't help as he has quite a lot of knowledge of poisons from around the islands.
It also doesn't help that he doesn't exactly respect the portal master. He sees Beauo as a short tempered, spoiled princess who isn't ready to take such a powerful role of "portal master". He is seen rolling his eyes and sighing when she summons him to check up on things. Finding her insist nagging for info annoying and overbearing. This attitude is also fueled by the fact that he is well aware of her people's past actions and violent tendencies.
But this mindset doesn't stick for long, especially not after the Lycan virus incident.
"What is the lycan virus incident?"
You may ask?
Well this isn't like a virus that makes you and I sick with a cold. This actually doesn't affect organic tissue either. In fact it's a code virus thst affects robotic beings. Sadly, that means spider robots like Spy Rise aren't safe.
Those that are inflicted with this virus with undergo a painful transformation of becoming a killing machine. Any semblance of the host with be gone after 12hrs of the transformation. Only leaving a husk that only desires to spread the virus to others. Sadly, this means they do go after those that arent robotic too.
But not all is lost, there is a way to cure this cybernetic problem, of a strong enough EMP can be shot at the target, it can remove the virus... but its a risky move. EMPs are known to kill robotic beings or even remove any and all memories.
With this being said, you can imagine the stress everyone felt when Spy Rise ended up affected by the disease. Especially the portal master, Beauo has never came across this before and had to evacuate a large area of the academy to protect everyone. After that ordeal was done, the portal master had to go after Spy Rise herself. She didn't want to risk dealing with two of them.
After a cruel game of cat and mouse, Beauo found Spy Rise and began the next phase of her plan... distracting him.
Using her powers, she kept Spy Rise at a distance but still stayed close enough to keep his attention on her. This gave Manga Charge enough time to calculate the EMP to get rid of the virus once and for all. After a scuffle and a few well placed stabs onto Beauo's shoulder, they were able to save their friend.
Once in recovering, Spy Rise was able to come back into reality and was filled in on what just happened. Finding out what happened, he began to feel guilty for not only nearly harming his colleagues but also nearly tearing the portal master's arm off. Seeing that Beauo was willing to get into harm's way to save him and the others, she gained his respect.
Losing his attitude towards Beauo, he works with her a bit better and is willing to share a bit more about outside his work life. Coming a bit out of his shell, he starts to realize thst his work as a P.I. doesn't have to make him shut himself in. He starts to learn to separate his work from his normal life. Helping him gain more friends and getting A LOT more information with less of the work. Learning things that he hasn't even noticed until he became open with his thoughts and personality.
But the rumors about him still remain.
