The character dynamics in this manhwa is *chef kiss*
AND THE PACING, OH MY GOD THE PACING....Where I feel the dialogue lacks, the characters, their relationships, and how they progress with each other make up for it tenfold!
An example of this would be how I genuinely felt and admired a strong mother-child/sibling care between these two initially, I was shocked to find myself considering Jeremy as someone who could be a very good match romance-wise for Shuri.
This was a hard pill to swallow. While I’m not exactly against step-parent and step-children romances in fiction, there was a clear platonic relationship already established, and Nora was a fiiiiine man so I was excited to ship them.
But something clicked ever since the Jeremy trial arc, and I also feel like that could have been where some sort of affection also started to bud for Jeremy himself in this timeline. No spoilers but if you’re interested in finding out how tastefully the author was able to shift the dynamics (I swear, it didn’t feel forced. Every implication, every subtle gesture, every hinted phrase, all helped build the atmosphere for this)
I know many people don’t ship these two, and it’s come as a shock for me to ship them over Nora, but biiig props to the author for spinning this wonderful tale!!!! Give it a read please 🙏
when he’s not insulting or spouting sarcastic comments on akane, ranma can get very affectionate. his voice would get softer and gentler and he’d stutter a bit when he tries to tell akane his feelings, which is very rare. and i like that only akane gets to see this kind of ranma, the ranma who blushes, who trips on his words, who can’t even look at her face because he’s too embarassed, who has to force the words out of his mouth because he’s too shy to say them. i think this is one of the very pleasant things about ranma and akane’s relationship; the fact that they’re not always fighting. that ranma can tell akane anything, while being genuine about it too.
If Mark and Amber do break up to set up Mark and Eve, i hope the break up is amicable. That it's because they realize they aren't compatible.
I agree somewhat, the thing is I think that they could be compatible, and that’s the frustrating part of their relationship. To me, they read very much as a, “right person, wrong time” kind of couple, and those ones are some of my favorites, but also the most tragic. If/when they inevitably do break up (I hope they keep them together for a while) I want to do be on both their terms, and I don’t want it to be messy.
Here’s my Infinity Train comic that I’ve been doing in my spare time! I loved the show and wanted to see if I could do a short format story with thematic significance. I had fun if anything!
You can find this comic posted on my Twitter & Instagram
Looking for a new cartoon to watch? Well, I’d like to recommend an HBO Max/Cartoon Network show called Infinity Train. It’s about people who find themselves aboard a mysterious train with infinite amount of train cars and have to solve the train’s puzzles in order to try to get back home and it just got renewed for a Season 4! Each season is really short (it’s only about 2 hours long per season which would make the entire thing about 6 hours since there’s only 3 seasons so far) and each season features new protagonists and new storylines that build on the lore and themes of the previous seasons (so even though the main characters of each season change, you should still watch the seasons in order). It’s really quite a unique show that tackles so many complex themes and has such fantastic writing and character development and absolutely gorgeous animation so I HIGHLY recommend checking it out. If you’re able to, PLEASE watch the show on HBO Max. While it has been recently renewed, its future seasons (the creator planned for 8 seasons) are still up in the air. If you’re not able to, then it’s understandable if you have to pirate it but if you’re able to get HBO Max and watch it there (if you’re worried about the cost, HBO Max has a one week free trial you can use), you absolutely should so HBO Max and Cartoon Network can see that people are interested in seeing more of the show.
Because Gokusen is my favorite manga (ever) and Shinkumi is my number 1 OTP of all time (ever) and Sawada Shin is the one I want to marry (ever). WHY COULDN’T THEY HAVE PUT THESE SCENES IN THE DRAMA?! Or they could have at least had Shin come back for the movie ;A;
I went ;_________________; when I read this line thinking OMFG SHIN FINALLY CONFESSED! FINALLY! AFTER THESE TWO FUCKING YEARS HE CONFESSED!
And this was scene was so beautiful I cried ;____; ‘cause Shin was mad at himself for not being strong enough for Yankumi getting himself into danger again. Oh it was also the time Yankumi answered Shin’s confession hihi ♥
Shin’s dad wanted Yankumi away from his son (again) so Yankumi was being stupid and decided to leave Shin. Yankumi’s intentions are good because she wanted Shin to have a better future rather than being dragged into the Yakuzas really but Shin’s words, this made me want to bawl out and ask why there’s no Sawada Shin out there T____T
So Shin decided to go to school. And this scene was so beautiful I was crying again. I’m so easily touched by simple scenes, really. WTF right? It’s like seeing them again from how they were 2 years ago ;A;
Shin talked about how he had loved Yankumi since then and how he tried to get the distance between them, student and teacher, shorter each time. How he tried to reach out to her as the years passed… I was banging my head on the pillow so hard when he said these lines.
AND THEN THE WORDS SHIN TOLD YANKUMI NEXT THAT EASED ALL HER WORRIES ABOUT HER DESTROYING SHIN’S FUTURE ;A; MY BB, WHERE IS MY SHIN IN THIS WORLD?! WHERE WHERE WHERE?! Because his words… made everything perfect ♥
Oh and if you’re wondering about Yankumi’s face, her students made fun of her again that’s why.
AH SAWADA SHIN ;_____; Shinkumi will always be the number 1 OTP in my heart no matter what happens ♥ BRB crying and sulking to why there was no Shinkumi in the Gokusen live action ;A;
So recently we received an ask about when Kou and Aoba fell in love. Personally, I don’t feel Aoba and Kou always loved one another. I think a large part of this has to do with their own personal grief over Wakaba, but I also think their personal grief over Wakaba is what brings them to fall in love with one another. I remember getting to the last few episodes and realizing Oh my gosh. They’re in love. I don’t know when it happened or how, and I know that they weren’t in love during the first few episodes, but somehow they’re in love now. And that’s what I loved about the series; it was so convincingly realistic in that there really is not a specific moment you fall in love with someone, love is something that develops subtly over time.
