TW: Mentions of emotional abuse
C-PTSD culture is finally getting in a healthy relationship and it feels so...weird. What do you mean we can have a disagreement and talk it out? What do you mean there's no screaming? No throwing things? No insults? No passive aggressive actions?
It feels so foreign to me. I'm glad I'm in a healthy relationship but it'll take some time to get used to.

questioning c-ptsd + emotional parentification culture is not having any memories from your childhood for the most part except for when you could sense tension with a parent who was both abusive and relied on you for emotional support.

Autistic cptsd culture is being terrified to talk about your abuse because people on tumblr will call you ableist if you mention how your abuser might have been a narcissist. Even though your abuser targeted you directly because you're autistic :/

cptsd culture is your abuse experiences being ignored by media and public discourse because you are AMAB and your abuser was your mom, meaning that you are just a "momma's boy"

cptsd culture is feeling so guilty that you’ve finally had a streak of success and health. the toxic shame of feeling like you have to stay miserable because you’ve always been miserable, and thinking the people around you are going to grow resentful of you for not being able to relate to their pain (even though you absolutely still can. the emotional object impermanence is real)

c-ptsd culture is feeling so much guilt and shame for living. for being happy, for eating, for having a day where you feel comfortable, for being able to enjoy your interests, and for feeling safe. c-ptsd culture is punishing yourself for no reason other than your mind telling you that you deserve it because you are bad, and bad people aren't allowed to have fun. that you don't deserve happiness.

c-ptsd culture is FINALLY meeting a mental health professional who ACTUALLY cares about your mental health, and it makes you want to cry because they're so nice to you and you feel you don't even deserve it. like wdym my trauma is trauma and not just bad memories from when i was a kid that everyone just ignores, so i ignore it too.

Note
C-PTSD culture is being diagnosed at the age of five with autism and being permanently traumatized by repeated abuse at school as a result of your autism. No matter how much you begged for help, no one, not even your own family believed you. This eventually leads to distrust between you and your loved ones even if they were nice to you because they weren't there for you when you needed them the most...

cptsd & dissociative disorder culture is regaining a lot of amnesia about your trauma because you couldn’t handle it anymore at the cost of your general memory getting a lot worse, and not being able to remember the little things you could a month or half a year ago. and hoping it’s temporary. pls tell me i’m not alone /hj
