A commission of Brigid for @bloodtreachery (awww, it was SUCH a pleasure to do it!). I put an emphasis on her aspect as a poet, hence the fire of poetry ablaze! The poem in the flames is a liberal translation of these lines from The Hosting of the Sidhe into Old Irish (courtesy of my wonderful husband):
...if any gaze on our rushing band, We come between him and the deed of his hand, We come between him and the hope of his heart.

O' Great of Magic,
Mother of All,
Aset-Hetheru,
I raise my arms to you.
I firm my legs on the sands,
and I sing your praise to the heavens.
You guide me,
strengthen my ka,
and fill my heart with hope for the future.
Dua Aset-Hetheru!

Simple prayer to the Eumenides/Prece simples às Eumênides
english:
Dark maidens of the night Fearsome kindly ones, justice-makers! I sing to you before the earth, element of your kingdom from which you rise with bat wings. Accept this simple libation from this humble-minded one. Holy goddesses, kind to the righteous! May I always have the grace of the Eumenides, never transgressing ye!

Lord of Disorder:
Set is the Egyptian god of disorder, violence, storms and all things foreign. In a dualistic worldview like that of ancient Egypt, he is in direct opposition to Horus, who represents order, civilization and the fertility of the Nile. In the early history of Egypt, however, Set was not considered evil. He was a necessary foil to Horus and even an important player against the destructive serpent Apep. Several Old Kingdom pharoahs use his name as part of their official titles. As time went on, he became more closely identified with spirits of evil, and his worship ceased by the New Kingdom. The Hyksos invaders of the second intermediate period took Set as their primary god, since he was associated with foreign influences. Often portrayed as red-haired, like the red desert he symbolizes, Set’s symbols included the was-scepter and the Set-animal, an unusual creature that combined features of a jackal, an aardvark, a donkey and possibly a fennec. The Set-animal is notable for its curved nose, tall upstanding ears, and forked tail. Set might be called upon in times of necessary disruption or for protection from the chaos he embodies.

I think people have become so far removed from the natural world that "witnessing nature do it's thing" is often misinterpreted as having mystical significance.
This is not meant to be a judgement of anyone, no one here is the reason we live in a society away from the wilds. But I think that the little to no exposure people have with non-human spaces turns perfectly ordinary occurrences into something of a spectacle.
"I keep seeing large groups of crows around, who is trying to reach out?" Probably no one, crows are diurnal flock animals that actively seek out people because they are smart and know we have lots of stuff they can scavenge.
"This tree in my yard put out SO many flowers but seems to be dying now, did someone curse me?" Nope! Trees, particularly fruit trees, can stress bloom, where they put out tons of flowers in response to any number of stressors. Might wanna see if you can fix the stressors to save the tree.
"I was walking around during a storm and lightning hit a tree I was near, what does that mean?" It means you should thank your lucky stars you didn't get hit yourself. Lightning wants to touch the ground so badly and will zap the tallest thing around because that is the fastest way there.
"A cat gave birth under my house, do I have a familiar now?" Maybe. But under the house is dry, warm and relatively safe. She picked that spot because its a good place to keep her babies.
All of these things and more happen ALL THE TIME, we just aren't as aware of them as we used to be. Seeing nature in action is incredible and special in it's own right, just maybe not in the way you want it to be.
