MY HC OF AFTG!

-Neil- Andrew - (andreil)-

1. Neil has really thick curly hair that is either really short or medium long and at least to the shoulder length in the future, Type of curls he has (3a or 4a) most definitely wears a hair band to pull it out of his face (he started growing it out because it helped him tell the difference between him and Nathan)

2. Neil skin is almond with cool undertone which makes his scars stick out a lot (Neil doesn't care tho)

3. Neil has a really healthy nice weight that mixed in with the workout that he usually partakes in with either Matt, Renee or Andrew make him have a bit of a mesomorph body type (award for Best legs and ass goes to Neil🙌✨)

4. Neil forgets that people find him attractive a lot.

A guy once tried to flirt with Neil and wanted to pick Neil up but once Neil picked up on it he shot him down at first gently but when the guy didn't take no for an answer Neil proceeded to insult and aggressively shoot him down.

5. Neil has slanted eyes with full lips with a down turn (which makes him have a expressive face when he wants to)(he usually uses it to sell a point- effectively lying material)

-Canon fact-

Neil's hair is canonly Abram so it must make his eyes stick out a lot (I felt like sharing because it must make him look really unreal) (also it sounds really hot 😔)

6. Some people compare Neil's appearance to what the devil must look like charming, unreal and scarily beautiful because of how his eyes sometimes seem like they glow in the dark.

7. Neil doesn't mess with his hair anymore since he stopped running and now barely even touches it if it's not to pull or run quick fingers through it when he takes a bath/shower so Andrew ends up being the one that usually takes care of Neil's hair.

8. Sometimes when Andrew's particularly Petty and annoyed by Neil he makes his food or drinks really sweet (neil absolutely hates it when he does that but he refuses to stop bothering Andrew he's willing to sacrifice a couple of food and drinks if he gets to see Andrew react to his jabs and flirtatious remarks)

9. Neil and Andrew don't cuddle very often due to the problem with sleeping and restricting movements but they do hold hands while sleeping, but in the future they do get better with physical contact while they sleep. (In the future sometimes Andrew will lay on top of Neil and Neil sometimes sleeps with his face pressed against Andrew side while laying on his arm)

10. Neil has dimples and really nice prominent canines. (Andrew's Head over heels with Neils smile)

11. Andrew has cried once only once and it scared the living hell out of neil.

Andrew didn't SOB he didn't even make a noise, he just had a particularly really bad day he didn't want to be touched he really didn't want to even be around people he was sitting on the roof when Neil found him his face was particularly somewhat blank with a frowned and knitted Brown he seemed frustrated even a bit angry, and he was crying.

His face was slightly pressed against his arm with his eyes locked on the buildings almost spaced out he didn't make a single noise to indicate that he was crying the only evidence being the tears that were falling from his eyes and the red undertone under his eyes.

Of course Neil flinched when he saw him like that, he didn't say anything though. He didn't say anything he didn't even make a jab about Andrew wasting a cigarette, no he sat down not too close but not too far away from Andrew, you knew that Andrew knew he was there and chose not to say anything so Neil didn't say anything either if Andrew wanted silence that's what Neil was going to give him.

(If Neil were to talk to Andrew during this time he had the rifle suspicion that Andrew wouldn't have responded anyway.)

Neil sat and watched the city with Andrew for at least an hour until Andrew put out his cigarette and threw it over the edge wiping his tears away on the sleeve of his jacket before he departed from the roof in silence, neil followed behind him after a few minutes more on the roof.

Andrew was missing for a while after that a neil longed on the couch waiting for Andrew to come back with a cartoon playing on the TV (he didn't put it on exy because Andrew didn't like it.)

Andrew did come back after an hour with food but didn't speak about what happened on the roof and Neil didn't bring it up.

He joined Neil on the couch sharing a meal together, after they were done eating Andrew lend on Neils side with the pillow smashed against his chest as his why he watched TV with Neil.

both insulting cartoons together for not being realistic.

12. Andrew and Allison do become friends, they are the type of friendship that is built off of sarcasm, insults and small gestures of kindness that some people don't even notice.

13. If Neil isn't at the gym with Andrew he's usually with renee or matt.

14. Neil and jean are really good friends (they insult each other. you know, normal bff activities.)

15. Neil really hates that Kevin talks in his sleep and has been caught on multiple occasions trying to suffocate Kevin in his sleep, By Matt laughing as he holds Neil back from suffocated Kevin.

(Kevin hc- Talks in the sleep sometimes)

16. Andrew really hates the cold.

17. Andrew usually cooks for him and Neil (Neil doesn't know how to cook and he's in the process of learning how) Andrew doesn't trust neil in the kitchen.

18. Nail gets a labret piercing (silver ring) Allison and nicky managed to convince him to do it.

Andrew really likes it-

19. Andrew gets a tongue piercing in the future.

Neil was shocked but likes it even though he was kind of mad that he couldn't kiss Andrew for a while cuz he didn't want to hurt him.

20. Andrew usually paints his and Neil's nails black when he feels like it.

Neil really doesn't mind and enjoys the therapeutic feel of it.

21. Andrew thinks of bee as his mother figure.

22. Neil does get more comfortable around bee and even talks to her from time to time but still doesn't do therapy.

Andrew was a emotional child and I mean really emotional. The type of child who cried when they were angry, face gets all red, the type of child who begged for attention, who did anything just to have it…

But the only problem is he was never put into a good home, never. He was either ignored or shunned flat out abused, the type of child who sought out validation just for someone to understand them, the only thing that made that worse is that he trusted anyone.

Anyone, even if they pretend to care who gave him the slightest bit of validation who truly saw him was that person's full attention. Sadly he chose the wrong person to trust, and sadly that person was Drake.

Imagine little Andrew fighting for just a bit of attention who cried when he got hurt, who got into fights a lot, got hurt a lot just because that was the only time anyone really paid any attention to him and for Drake he played it perfectly.

Drake pretend to to listen pretended to care validated him when no one else would paid attention to Andrew when no one else would, Drake was just another string to hold on to a home we're someone saw him it made it easy for Drake to manipulate him as a naive child you believe anything especially if you were never introduced to anything else always going through homes or where you were the least of someone's priority you were the last on the list it was always nice when you were finally on someone's top priority even if just for a little bit.

He said he would stop, why would he lie. Drake wouldn't lie, he cared right?

No one listened, no one cared so why should he? It was all one big misunderstanding.

Sooner or later he ran out of tears to cry quite some time ago it's not like it did anything if anything it made it worse. He got tired of begging when no one was listening. It never stopped and the pain never went away.

Pain was all he head,

The deep lines he had pressed into his skin hard enough to last, the scars and blood that showed Andrew that this body was his and not anyone else's.

A letter in the mail address to him, oh goody goody.

He had a brother, a strand of hope, a hope that didn't last for very long, why of course. He's always wanted twins.

He had prayed for so long, prayed long enough to realize no one was listening, once again ignored. it didn't matter he's used to it.

Nelly, Nol or Noah it didn't matter because this didn't matter these feelings weren't real they were like a fog in a particularly early morning that would fade away during the day, A high that he was bound to come down from.

Neil was like an annoying bug a fly in the middle of the night that decided to sing at the most ungodly is times fly in and out of your peripheral vision just enough that you see it not enough to catch it but sooner or later he was bound to get caught and killed oh how pitiful that would be.

It was kind of funny watching such a tall man seep down into a puddle of fear in front of a man barely half his height Kevin truly was pitiful but Andrew he could care less this was at least a little bit more entertaining an, oh. Neil, like a knight in shining armor, spoke up, how funny it was until it wasn't.

It wasn't one of his at least. little old Seth,

he can almost feel bad, almost.

Hidden particularly like the color brown he couldn't give it hate because it wasn't that interesting enough but oh Neil.

But Neil was the type of man to even make brown look interesting, Neil was hard to ignore. He was attractive. Andrew can admit that he knew it from the first time he laid eyes on him even when he was playing with such a boring color and oh, oh my. Neil had blue eyes, such a pretty color it's a shame he covers them up; he can almost feel his heart beating a little faster when he looks into those blue eyes, almost.

Neil was annoying no matter how pretty he was and how ugly his fashion was truly he really knew how to ruin a man's fantasies with his hideous dressing, Andrew got a headache just thinking about it.

It was almost annoying that even when he wasn't near Neil the man plagued his mind, The last thing he had to himself, his mind; that was truly a problem that he had to fix before it became a little too troublesome.

I don't know where my mind went with this I wanted to take a deep dive into Andrew's thoughts I don't know if I really captured it, I'm undecided I'm probably going to finish it but I'm really trying not to make myself cry.

I love Andrew he deserves so much better than what he got.

The thought of Andrew thinking Neil is too sweet for him, EVEN though he has a sweet tooth!? Has me in chokehold like nothing else!

They don't need each other they want each other they chose each other because they wanted too nothing force them together, my favorite couple because there's nothing toxic about them, there perfect for each other.

They are the puree definition of relationship goals.

Andrew is used to people needing him, The fact that Neil doesn't need him but wants him baffles him beyond belief and he isn't ready to accept that neil choose him because he wanted to.

Like at first Neil wanted a reason to stay and Andrew gave him that, he never allowed Andrew to actually give him what he promised, their deal was in full force but neil never actually gave Andrew the chance to protect him nor did he want Andrew to protect him if anything neil protected Andrew without even giving it a second thought, like Andrew was protecting everyone but himself so Neil did it for him not expecting anything in return, Andrew knew this and that pissed him off cuz it was unbelievable in Andrew's eyes.

No one had ever protected Andrew and neil was the first person to ever try; so yeah, say I'm delusional but I understand why Andrew called Neil the pipe dream.

I Understand why he chose neil over Aaron, if it was me I would rather someone who understood me than someone who didn't, who would eventually leave me no matter how hard I hold on to them so might as well let him go willingly than hurt myself trying only to eventually be left alone anyway, it was never about who he loved more it was about who understood him more.

I'm happy Andrew was able to spend his life with someone who understood and cared for him, to be able to trust and be trusted, something to live for and that wouldn't leave him; in the end Kevin did make good on his deal without even knowing he gave Andrew something to live for he gave Andrew Neil.

So ya, they both have a home that home is not a place but a person.

Just got my drawing tablet like yesterday it's absolutely amazing I'm loving it and it causes me no problems!

Things that the fandom asks for but I don't think we can really handle, But we really want it....

Let's be honest we say we want to see Andrew actually genuinely smiling expressing his happiness but let's be completely honest we wouldn't be able to handle that, my heart would literally implode (especially with the head Cannon of him having dimples OMG dig me an early grave)

When I really think about Andrew genuinely crying I just can't handle it even thinking about it makes me want to cry; Him physically expressing that he's in pain would actually mentally hurt me

Already knowing that he's in pain hurts but him showing it would actually break my heart, he's definitely a pretty crier and silent crier too.

2. You know the scene on the roof when Andrew gets back from rehab, I vividly remember him turning away from Neil to put on his arm bands and when I think about it I start thinking he doesn't turn away from him to just hide his scars, Andrew just doesn't want Neil to pity him

especially after seeing him in such a weak state after the incident at Thanksgiving and seeing him genuinely helpless and weak, he just doesn't't want Neil to think he needed his pity and treat him any differently or even think he's weak

(am I precisely remembered somewhere in the extra content Andrew openly admits to not wanting neil to pity him)

But let's be completely honest during the whole series of us reading the all for the game Neil never really shows any pity for anyone.

I know people like to regularly joke around and like to show neil as this supreme joker and prankster and up his sassiness to a level higher than a supreme,

But let's be completely honest for a moment not only does Neil rarely socialize with people he most definitely rarely smiles for anyone and honestly he only shows a little bit more emotion than Andrew

And when I think of Neil's emotional expression level compare him to todoroki cuz he's just as dense and he's just as bad at showing his emotions.

And we most definitely don't see nail smile very often like go back and reread the whole book and there's only a few moments Neil smiles 2+

And the only person we really see him smile for is Andrew which is cute and is completely adorable to think about he smiles a lot more often around Andrew(Andrew is able to make neil smile by just being himself and that's really cute)

Physical affection.

I know people like to write Neil as someone who is starving for physical affection look I have a love-hate relationship with that thought on one hand it's really adorable but on the other hand I don't like how people completely ignore how awkward Neil is when it comes to physical affection,

Like are we going to completely ignore that Neil does not know how to comfort or even handle being hugged like I git it let's be delusional but let's not be that delusional where we completely ignore that neil rarely had any form of physical affection in childhood the only thing we ever got hinted at of him having any sign of affection was his mother sleeping on the same bed as him which is sad.

like the only physical contact that Neil had was violent and was company by pain(this man didn't even know how to be a friend nor did he pick up on people genuinely liking him and even caring about him)

So the thought of Andrew genuinely liking him risking it all for him sacrificing for him puts his brain on the loading screen.

But the point is Neil never asked for anything really physical he doesn't ask for it he doesn't want to be hugged but that doesn't mean he doesn't mind it he may not want it or need it but he doesn't mind having it that's the whole point with neil he doesn't expect anything more and Andrew really does notice these things about him.

Watching Andrew fall deeply more in love with the things that are Neil josten it's even more beautiful than anything and romance may not be what that book was about but it showed it beautifully(it makes me wish there was more of just them.)

And the same thing goes for Andrew,

In all the adoption homes orphanages that Andrew has been to he has never had a good home some may have been better than others but they weren't in the least bit great, taking into account that he was always being abused in some way whether it was sexual or physical and emotional it makes sense that Andrew is so used to people not caring about his opinion because he's so used to being ignored so the thought of Neil genuinely showing care and protectiveness over Andrew well of course to Andrew Neil is in fact a pipe dream cuz something like that is really too good to be true.

Andrew hates it he hates that Neil will listen and cares about his opinion whether it's a yes or no neil listens and cares about him and he hates that neil is the one thing that would truly hurt him to lose because neil genuinely cares about him just as much as he cares about neil.

So when it comes to physical affection between them though they lack it and aren't used to it it's not something that they need or want but it's not something that's unwelcome under their own conditions

But in my opinion I think Andrew likes touching neil just as much as Neil likes to be close to Andrew, but let's always remember even without touching or kissing they like enjoying each other's presents and Andrew's attraction was never only physical with neil.

Happy?

Well yes they're happy why wouldn't they be they live together they own animals together they joke together

They go on little dates together and spend money on each other, they work and spend time together, so why wouldn't they happy not all happy endings need to end with a marriage because who says marriage is the way to happiness just because they aren't married doesn't mean they aren't happy I know some people don't think it or even think about it in that way some people understand it but still want it and that's understandable,

But for these characters I never really expected them to get married though it's a pleasant thought to have to see but to be completely honest these characters never been around happy marriages or grew up in a family with a happy marriage it's never been on their mind to marry it's something that they don't indulge in it's like a tie and though some marriages aren't a tie down or even to be tied to anything period but,

For these characters they are all about regaining their freedom, freedom control and freedom of change or freedom of distance at some point freedom to stop hiding the freedom to speak without pretending to live without fear is the true definition of living they don't need be Married to be happy and if they want to be separated they can be separate without needing to sign papers.

Honestly all the hints I'm getting about the Sunshine Court I don't think Jean will be better than neil in fact I think he's going to be worse, you telling me all that time he spent in the nest he is not going to be like:

Jeremy: are you ok?

Jean: I think I broke a rib, Should be okay to play tho.

Jeremy(very concerned): WHAT

Jean: what?

Or it could be even worse, He faints on the court and they find out later that he has a broken rib 😭😭

(it's sad to think about because I think he's just going to try to power through any injury he gets since he's so used to playing in pain)(and he's used to nobody caring)

Oh I was mentally daydreaming and listening to a lyric of a song and for some reason I granted myself with a great mental image just for that song and the precise lyrics that made me imagine it was " so you brought out the best of me, part of me I've never seen..you took my soul and wiped it clean, our love was made from movie screens"

At this point Andrew was quite Fed up the cat has utterly scratched the fuck out of his hands and had the nerve to strut away like it on the world he was just about ready to Chuck the whole cat out the window and call it a day, He looked up letting his eyes linger on the retreating but of the cat, Motherfucker had the nerve to add a little sway to it's step Andrew was just about ready to get up and grab the cat's tale but stops in his tracks when he hears a soft Snicker beside him, turning his head he was met with pretty blue eyes glazed over with tears at the side of him Neil seat laid back with a pillow pressed against his chest captured by his arms holding back clear signs of laughter, Andrew's attention was immediately wiped away from the cat within seconds.

Finally realizing that he had Andrew's full attention Neil burst out into laughter failing to hold it back any longer and with that Andrew slowly reached to his side of the couch grabbing a pillow with One mission in mind , smother the god-awful boyfriend., Andrew wasted little time plunging the pillow onto neils face trying to smother him but the idiot had finally had the little common sense to immediately put his hands up before the pillow could come crashing down effectively holding Andrew off from smothering him he continued to laugh as if was a child that had saw the most funniest thing in the world Neil was share his lungs were beginning to hurt but he couldn't stop the laughter from continuing to bubble up only becoming more funnier when he realized Andrew was trying to smother him, after a few minutes Andrew gave up on trying to smother Neil and let the pillow fall to the ground as he continued to watch his drop dead gorgeous boyfriend laughed his ass off at his suspense of course when Neil was finally able to catch his breath after a minute Andrew gave him questioning look, Neil with his stained tear face and a goofy smile still plastered on it nodded without hesitation, And with that Andrew kissed him senseless snatching more of his oxygen.

Andrew knows Neil rarely smiles which makes it even more golden when he smiles for him he also knows Neil hates his own smile and he's caught him on many occasions immediately wiping the smile from his own face he enjoys when he makes neil smile and neils immediate reaction isn't to stop smiling. Andrew knows he isn't able to outright show his affection like he wants to but that doesn't stop him from showing his love for his boyfriend the best way he knows how, being able to make his boyfriend laugh is worth more than gold.
