Ifrit drags his palm up Dew’s spine. He’s sleep warm, loose. Dew purrs in his sleep, a low rusty noise that Ifrit feels against his side. The gills on his neck shift, flutter with each deep breath. Ifrit relaxes back into his pillow as he strokes Dew’s back. He watches the little ghoul sleep. Raises his free hand to brush some of the silvery blonde hair off of Dew’s lips. Away from his cheek so Ifrit can see the soft color pooling there. Blood beneath the surface of that pale silvery skin. Ifrit drags his fingers over the sharp line of Dew’s cheekbone and the little ghoul stirs. Eyes squeezing shut before they flutter open. Raising slow to look up at Ifrit. Heavy and sleepy. Dew makes another little noise as he slowly comes to.

“Sorry, droplet.” Ifrit whispers. “Didn’t mean to wake you."

ghouls don't usually die on earth, it's very rare. usually they return to the pit and continue living there like before they got summoned in the first place. but earth is weird and sometimes they die or get killed. just normally, like humans. what they are still returns to the pit, but it's different

it's tragic when the dead ghoul makes the as above so below sign by themself because it means they're alone. it means that for the next eternity in hell they'll be alone, without a mate
