We are on the last of the build now.
We just need to do the exhaust. Once the exhaust is done. The truck is really done and ready for driving around.
I need insurance and registration and we are really done. i will update on the finale total of everything and try to calculate how many hours of work went into this. i say it's taken about 3 months. i really only work on it on weekends and every now and then during the week.

Take it from me do not buy a harness from overseas. pay the $500 and get someone nearby to make you a harness for your LS swap. if you plan to do a lot to the engine then stop get the holley for $1000 its worth it. i promise you. I paid $150 for a harness that didnt work and it set me back so much time and money replacing things that didnt need to be replaceed.

Firebird
I was thinking about a natural aspirated build but it’s going to be soooo much into the engine like $10,000 at least or we could just do cam heads and a turbo.
If i do the NA build it will be fine or the Tubro build it will be fun def leaning more towards the turbo
LM7 again 5.3 iron block LS with a 6L80E or T56
We will see for sure i might even do 8 speed
1 point in compression = + 4 HP
1 Point of Boost pressure = +9 HP
But if you will boost engine don’t raise compression. Keep stock or lower so you can get more boost.

A/C
This car had A/C from the factory. So its only right that i put it back in the car and make sure it has A/C and Heat again. This meaning that its gonna be about $500 for all the parts for the A/C again. IDK what happen to them where they were but new A/C and radiator has been bought.

These poles and hook has been in my family for over 50 years allowing us to do Engine work any were
This is not the original 5.7 that was in the truck but a 327 that was just in the truck
Next, gotta get a new radiator and A/C condenser and evaporator. Take some parts off the motor and transmission and put that on the LS

Plans for the Firebird
After much thinking. I think the firebird will be getting a 6.0 LS swap. This will be a lot of engine work done. I want the car to be fully naturally aspirated. right now 2023, March im thinking like LQ9 Make it a Stroker. i've seen stroker kits for about $3000, Then i'll get some good aftermarket head and aftermarket cam Im going to do high lift but wider lobe separation, Its not gonna sound like a hog but it will soound good to me. So in total. i think it's gonna be about a $10,000 engine. I will buy these part over about 3 years. This time i will def be using the holley terminator X ECU.

This is an LM7 out of a 2004 Avalanche. I just wanted to do some maintenance on it before we put it in the truck.
Spark plugs were needed
New valve cover gaskets and grommets were needed
Drained the old oil out new oil and new oil filter (standard oil change)
Changed the water pump to an F body water pump so that ment i needed spacers to have everything in line.
Needed a new oil dipstick tube because it was broken.
Oil pressure adapter, Coolant temp sensor adaptor.
New PCV line cause the other one was a little too worn for me.
I took the valve covers off and cleaned them to make sure nothing was wrong with them. It seemed the last person to put them on did not do it correctly.

SO MUCH has gone into this LS Swap
Please know if you do plan on doing it that it’s not cheap
It’s truly not super expensive tho.
For me it’s been about $3000 in total
That’s Truck, engine, fixing all the stuff on the truck and getting everything that’s needed to make this a dependable swap.
When it’s all done i will put up a list of everything that was bought for this swap.

Dont know what i will do about this Dash. Im going to do some research on it. See what other people have done. i do know you can just replace the whole thing with like a hard plastic piece but we will see what ends up happening. Got the LS badges so if you get close you will know its LS Swapped. But after i LS swap it i will be drivingin it all the time . then makiing upgrades as i go. This will always be a work truck that looks good i do not care about it being fast at all. Exhaust and a tune is all ill be doing for this.
