It was almost bitterly code outside. The wind was just as frozen as the snow beneath her feet, crunching as she went by. Asuka couldn't have enough winter wear on, but alas a simple jacket and a pair of mittens was all she had. She had to borrow a very pink scarf from one the children from the orphanage, with stars and flowers adorning it's fabric.
She was on a mission, although not like one from her past where it was an either life or death situation, it was something much smaller than that, but apparently to the little girl who had given the woman her mission, it was just as important. Earlier that day, the children of the orphanage and their care givers took a stroll across the village passing out small, handmade cards to the villagers and shinobi to express their holiday cheer. They were all adorned with painted hand prints, evergreen trees, and of course, Santa Claus.
One particular girl, Misora, had left one of her cards back at the orphanage and was absolutely devastated when she couldn't give it to her 'favorite person in the whole wide world'. She had cried to Asuka the entire time of the trip, begging her to allow her to go back and get it. Asuka had made a deal with the girl that if she could get through the trip without crying or without asking her again, that she would deliver it to her favorite person.
Misora kept good on her promise and after their journey, Asuka set out once again to deliver the card. It was much to her surprise when she found out that it was him. Walking up to the weapon smith's shop, she stood, wondering where he could be. After talking with the owners of the shop, who she assumed was his parents, she was directed to the back of their home and shop.
He stood there in his own winter gear, facing a fighting dummy, his structure heaving heavily as if he was out of breath. She didn't waste a minute and walked towards the man.
"This is for you."
