if anyone ever doubts jim’s humanity or heart it’s On Sight in tom’s book. he’s seen jim be a thousand times more human than man. to him, jim is the person that raised and nurtured him and he’ll fight anyone that tries to tread on him / dehumanize him with the fact that he’s an android.

He kisses the top of Tom's head as he sits at the sofa, hands smoothing over his shoulders and kneading gently. Voice low and teasing even as he works at the tight knots at the base of Tom's neck. "Hey there, wildfire. Stayin' awhile?"
“ hey, red. ” he leans into the touch, tight-wound shoulders relaxing under his lover’s attention. he tilts his head to rest on the back of the sofa, get a good look at barney, show him the tired smile that lights up his face, burns bright blue in his eyes. “ mmm … long as there ain’t another invaders incident? yeah. ‘m here ‘ta stay if you’ll have me.” tom swears there’s nothing better. nothing better than just being here, with barney. long days feel just a little shorter, or maybe simply more bearable. the times where they gotta miss eachother feel like a whole other kind of silence, when he comes back to a meal made ready for him and a cold apartment. tom shuts his eyes for a beat, breathes out the lingering tension. “ missed ya. ” he says, bringing a hand up to gently grab at one of barney’s. runs his thumb over a rough palm. “ whadd’ya say we have dinner and a movie night in? ”
