I’m sorry but if you watched the whole show and don’t understand that Azula is objectively terrifying and intimidating to everyone who crosses her including some of the most powerful benders in the show then I really don’t know what to tell you 😭

In season 2 Mai is literally intended to function as comedic relief to Azula. If you don’t appreciate her humor just accept that you don’t get it and move along!!!

Here’s me officially hopping on the Mai and Sokka besties 4 life train. 

I actually don’t disagree with this and I think it’s a very valid criticism for Zuko! I do think it reinforces the point that I rarely see Zuko receive the same level of scrutiny for his comments that Mai receives for her actions. I know these two are naturally going to have different levels of criticism due to Zuko being a major and extremely well-written character, whereas Mai is a minor character with minimal screen time. But I am still a firm believer that Mai receives an extremely disproportionate amount of hate for her actions.
