Me: [Trying not to be onboxious to new guild members]
Also Me: [Infodumps in stupid depth about all my animals- including how they got their names because someone else mentioned how their animals got their names and I want to make friends]
Why am I like this. I need to go to bed before I make an idiot of myself (too late prolly, lol)

Attended my first event with the Guild. Am I overanalyzing every interaction? Yes. Is my anxiety getting the best of me? Absolutely. But was it fun? 3,000%.
It was so great to do a Public Dungeon run again. And everyone was so nice about the fact I hadn't played in like 5 years and was starting over on a different platform entirely from the one I'd last played on. I also found out that at least 3 of us have Calico cats, ha.
It was fun! It feels good to be in an active Guild again.

It is important to note that spending an excessive amount of time in graveyards and among the dead will result in some sort of sickness [...] If the living is with the dead too often, there will be consequences [...] It is [especially] wise not to visit a cemetery when menstruating, or when sick. If one is pregnant, extra protective measures [should] be taken unless visiting one's own ancestors or beloved dead. The same guidelines can be followed when bringing babies or children into a graveyard.

I'm so stressed out by the knowledge that my Mother in Law hoarded food in every nook and cranny of the house. Like ... How am I going to find it all? Where am I going to put it all? What am I going to do with it, even. How much of it's potentially already bad because she had this insane idea that some things never went bad no matter what the label said (See: The Sour Cream issue we had with her 2 years ago)? Because we already had to throw out a bunch of stuff that was out of date when inventorying what little we managed yesterday.
Please do not @ me with the nonsense about "Best By / Sell By / Expires By" dates being an inexact science and "canned goods are usually good well past any date on them". Yes, I am well aware- and yet I have still gotten food poisoning by eating soup that was out of date by even a month. My system and health are far too sensitive for that. I'm more than happy to ship all the "out of date" items to you, though, if you're into that nonsense and wanna act like that on this post.
I want to move it into the basement, into the Laundry Room, where our pantry is, that way it's easier for me to go through and keep track of. But to do that, I have to entirely clean out the Laundry Room and reorganize the whole thing. And then I have to hope and pray that we can muzzle everything that's in there down enough that it makes room for the sheer amount of food hoarded around the upstairs ... And I honestly don't know if it will be based on what I was already seeing just in the Sunroom alone. To think there's still pallets of food on the top floor, under the beds, on top of that ...
I know she wanted us "to be ok if anything happened to her" but dear God. I'm literally nauseous from the stress of thinking about it all 😭 I just don't know how on Earth I'm going to do it.

Me: [Excitedly shows my husband a pantry I found on Tumblr]
Husband: Woah. Now that is a pantry.
Me: I WANT IT
Husband: As soon as I saw it I was like "yep, it wants that storage"
Me: Don't judge me
Husband: Am. I. Even. Wrong. Though.

Went upstairs and stole all of my Mother in Law's incense supplies out of the spare bedroom she called her "Sanctuary"*. In the process I managed to also find a little bud vase, a small amount of fake flowers that'd fallen off something, a tiny little New Testament Bible, and a little Lace Doily.
*She loved her incense so much, it felt wrong not to have an Ancestor Altar up for her without her incense supplies.
I redid the Ancestor Shrine when I came back down, since I had a bunch of stuff for it finally.
Tumblr media
Put the Doily down as a "cloth". Added a little incense burner to it and stuck one of her Incense sticks in it. Put the Bible in the middle. Filled the Bud Vase with some of the Rock Salt I had from an old Wax Melter, then stuck the Fake Flowers in it. And since her Obituary is now in the paper, I cut it out and put it in the other side of the 2 photo frame we bought as well; the other side will have a proper photo of her once we pick one out.
I think she'd be happy with it. I hope she would be, at least.

The number of grifter salesmen we've already had at our door today before noon, wanting "to repair the storm damage to our roof" is amazing. The best part? We already inspected the bulk of the roof for actual storm damage this morning and we have no damage* (but even if we did have any, we'd go through our insurance anyways- not some random salesman knocking on our door). Good try, though!
*Aside from a pre-existing leak we found in the Sunroom yesterday before the storms actually started to hit us hard. And that is entirely due to the fact the Sunroom is an add-on, and was poorly built in the first place; this is not the first time this area of the seam has leaked, and you wouldn't even be able to see the area unless you were in the back yard anyways.

Certain trees and plants hold the power to witness and balm the grief that comes with death [...] Beyond even the grieving and mourning process, certain trees and plants were respected as powerful spirits in times past, and with their historical connections to the Underworld, had the power to help the dying pass over the veil, and arrive safely at their destination in the Other Realm.

Consider an herbal remedy that you work with [...] Ask how you can go deeper in the relationship [with it]. What could you do within or without to bring more of the medicine in? Are there ways that you can bring magic into the medicine taking process, or a more direct connection to the plants involved?

anger does not entitle you to the mistreatment of others. rage does not signify virtue, it does not grant you permission for cruelty. personal pain does not excuse harming others, and it does not make it righteous. do not attempt to poison poison, we will just have more poison
