i love transwomen and i love seeing them get support and love, but its kinda odd when i go under transfemme posts and people say " i love seeing posts about trans women! " or talk soley about trans females like transfemme only encompasses trans females and it isnt a blanket label for any trans person with feminine gender expression?.. same goes for transmasc, i love trans men and seeing them get love is amazing but transfemme and transmasc labels are not transmasc = transmale or transfemme = transfemale, and people seem to be unaware of or ignore the difference between being trans and expressing your gender a certain way and being trans wich makes you see yourself as a certain gender. transfemales can be transfemme, and most definitely alot of them are, transmales can be transmasc, and almost all of the transmasc community are trans men, but i feel like people need to be more aware that trans women can be transmasc and wear bland outfits and have short hair and have more traditionally male hobbies and clothes and friends and features and not want to get surgery or take estrogen and still be trans women. trans men can be transfemme can be cutesy and look feminine and like wearing their hair long and love makeup and not take testosterone or get surgery and still be trans men, same goes for nonbinary people and any other trans labels that feel like / enjoy expressing their gender in a more feminine or masculine way, they should be comfortable with using transfemme and transmasc labels, since they are apart of the group that label encompasses and should know that this label is open to them. i think this stems alot from social media and younger trans people who dont understand that and assume because it says femme and masc that it is for people who identify as that gender specifically, and you see alot of younger trans people saying they're transmasc / transfemme as an interchangeable label for transmales and transfems, wich is incorrect if they dont express themselves with "traditional" or "modern" masculinity or femininity like transmascs and transfemmes do no matter their gender label.
there is no wrong way to be transgender !
