I got a really nice complement in my final painting critique today, that made me really happy.
I strive to set myself apart from the crowd, to create work that’s meaningful to me and the my audience. It’s not for the sake of being different, but being true to myself and to my inspirations.
One of the students in my class complemented me on that. I’m paraphrasing but he said:
“Your work has always been so different from everyone else’s in the class. Especially after seeing your technical drawings in Drawing II verses your inspired pieces here, it really shows who you are as an artist and your work is really impressive.”
My teacher agreed and added onto his comment and it was really nice. Even though I’m not fond of traditional painting, I’m gonna miss that class.

I went driving around 30 miles of GA backroads last Saturday to pickup roadkill only to turn around and go on an all expense paid trip to Disney World with my best friend via a private jet this Saturday.
And if I ever tell people this they’d think I’m lying but this is 120% the actual reality I live in.
