As promised this is my sketch of Loish. I think her face is very unique. I realized she looks like her artwork a whole lot. It's like her characters are her children. I wanted to make the attempts to draw her more realistic but I was really nervous and so this is what was born of it. The first attempt was very cartoony, which was not my intention, the second I did a lot of rubbing because of the angle. The last one I gave my best shot by just simply letting go. The green one is my favorite and the blue one my second favorite. All the references I used to make these sketches were shots taken from her tutorial videos where she was talking and moving a lot. This is my first commission and my first attempt to realisticish portrait ever. And so far I hate it. 😒 My advice to anyone who's planning on shading a portrait is to do your research. So while I was in the midst of finishing my drawing I thought 👌🏽 wow just beautiful. My laptop was open. I had the lady's reference photo up and I was watching a tutorial on how to draw locks until that ended. Then I proceeded to draw again. So I left YouTube running only to hear some random audio from an experts video saying put your reference photo to grayscale. I'm like oh Gosh why did I not think of that 😩 😭 😫 ??? Anyways, my drawing was already ruined 😔 😪 🙃 and that's when I got the advice. Afterwards 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️. And yes I got frustrated because all the reasons he gave for doing so and what can happen if I don't had already manifested. Guys I worked so hard.

After I realized that what I thought was beautiful was actually not proper shading, I also started to notice how fat I made the lady's neck 😳. Her neck really doesn't look like that. So in attempt to fix it I ended up with something else but that's for another. Thank you God for revealing the secret of portraiture shading to me, thank you.

PS: I'll show you the image of when I do the actual do over which is gonna be epic because I believe in myself! . But that's for later. Thanks again

Good day everyone. So currently I'm working on a portrait for a lady. And drawing faces is my favorite thing to do but today I feel threatened by the size of this work 😅. This caused me to procrastinate a bit before I started my work. But I like that I'm learning new things about me everyday. So next time I'll tackle my shyness better. But that's fine I do believe in myself, so I'm sure it's going to turn out how I want it . I'll try to keep posting the progression as I go along or maybe just the finished piece.
