Here’s something terrible for everyone to know. Cal Kestis was probably the last Jedi to get his kyber crystal from Ilum.

He was one of the only people left who knew how to get into the caves, and no one else would dare go there to get one.

Just something to think about I guess.

The death of the Jedi was a tragedy, and to me nothing represents that better than this. Thousands of Jedi went there for their kyber, and Cal was the last of a dead people

Because Sokka is brave, but not reckless. This is the one completely reckless move he made, impelled by love and guilt and the desire to protect the people he cares about.

So who comes with him? Zuko, the most reckless person we know.

Zuko, who knows exactly what it’s like to feel like you’ve failed the people you care about. Who doesn’t know where his uncle is, only that he couldn’t save him. This is Zuko wanting to prove himself, wanting Sokka to trust him, but it’s also a vicarious prison break. This is what he couldn’t do for his father figure, but maybe he can do it for Sokka’s.

And it’s the planner being reckless for once, and the reckless guy being forced to actually plan, even if neither of them come in with an exit strategy. They’re just building the bridge as they run across it the whole damn time.

They’re so stupidly brave and loving. They’re the best.

ARCANE LEAGUE OF LEGENDS: Season 1 ↳ "Oh, the misery."

I have this AU idea but I'll likely never write it where Post Season 1 Tahno joins team Avatar and him and Mako have such a high tension between them that everyone is shocked (except Lin and Korra) when the two start dating Post Season 3.

You know what would have actually made Korra's team Avatar interesting ?

Just...imagine the good natured sass contests & friendly rivalries !

The sassy, maybe a bit humbled & depressed but still cocky & trying to keep up appearances & the spirit guy who tries to learn to fight without his bending (with Asami's help so her character can be developed better too ?) to get back at Amon ,tries to stop cheating & do better but occasionally knows when & how to take a shortcut for the greater good (Not everyone has to be 100% moral. Varrick is one of the most beloved characters!) & when he eventually gets his bending back he would become the waterbender the group needed !

thinkin' 'bout tahno in the swamps. thinkin' 'bout him bein' raised with nothin' but love and his parents doing their best to always give him what he wants/needs. thinkin' bout him having so much love. thinkin' 'bout his momma telling him that he was so talented in his bending. thinkin' she'd probably always tell him to chase his dreams, that she'd always believe in him because no one believed in her dreams and that was the least she could do for him. thinkin' 'bout him always loving his home and his family but always feeling a yearning for something bigger. thinkin' 'bout him feeling guilt for knowing that his home in the swamps would never be enough. thinkin' 'bout him growing up and dreaming about moving away. thinkin' 'bout his momma getting older and she never stops supporting him.

thinkin' 'bout tahno maybe taking trips to the city when he can afford it and being filled with so much wonder and there's this thing called pro bending that he's heard about over the static of their radio and they're building teams all the time and it's so exciting and he's just got to come back to try out

thinkin' 'bout tahno coming home, he always comes home, and telling his momma, telling his family about everything that he sees. the city is his first true love. they can all see it in his eyes. they can't keep him away from it even if they tried.

thinkin' 'bout tahno traveling back to the city because by some miracle he has the money and he's made it during the time of try outs, and they love him, of course they do; here is this pretty boy, with so much raw talent to be chipped way at. here is this boy from the swamps with just his travel sack and his endearing way of talking and this natural way of moving and controlling his element. of course they sign him.

thinkin' 'bout how he comes home to pack up what he has. thinkin' 'bout how everyone is so excited for him, but how much it hurts them to be losing one of their own. thinkin' 'bout tahno's momma being older. she won't go with him. this is his life.

thinkin' 'bout them sending him off with food from home. with blankets. with love.

thinkin' 'bout how he sleeps the first few nights, weeks, months; it's so much noisier than he'd known. it's so much brighter at night. thinkin' 'bout the bitterness he has to swallow down at leaving. thinkin' 'bout how hard he works to be the best, to prove that he could be something. he reads the newspapers, knows that they love him but they all wondering how nothing is going to become something.

thinkin' 'bout the letters he'd get from home. it wouldn't be many. it's so far. he can't visit much. there's always practice. always events. then there's games. thinkin' 'bout how his first letter he recieves from his family is sentimentally tucked into his breastplate the first match he plays (and wins).

thinkin' 'bout how the more successful he becomes and the way more bad press seems to follow him. thinkin' 'bout how hurt he is. he gave up everything to chase his dream and this is what he gets in return--everything he's wanted at the cost of his character. he hasn't done anything wrong. he thinks about going home sometimes but he's come so far.

thinkin' 'bout when the letter comes and it tells him what he's always dreaded in his gut and it's that his mother is dead. thinkin' 'bout how it wasn't sudden but it wasn't expected. of course it happened when he was a thousand miles away.

of course it'd happen and he would be too late.

thinkin' 'bout how the bitterness and rage and grief almost swallows him whole.

he has the money now for faster travel, he's home as quickly as he can be but it's too late and all he can do is press a kiss to her brow before she's physically gone forever.

he spends a few days there. it's all he has before he has to go back. thinkin' 'bout how everything has changed for him. he still has family at home but it's just not quite the same anymore. thinkin' 'bout how he has less to care for. thinkin' 'bout how the press would finally get to him, about how he would now fully lean into this bad boy character.

I have never felt something so strongly
