yes of course i’d want the baby rushed to decontamination, if the two generation thing had turned out to be true and they came out polluted.
but after so many generations of constant pollution that’s got to change something, pollution is bad, it can’t possibly not have consequences
because time matters, when horrible things happen to people, if someone stopped breathing 10 seconds ago i’d rush in with the chest compressions even if it might already be too late - but if they stopped breathing 10 hours ago…
so i guess you’re right and a horrible horrible crime was done to the proto-reds, long long ago. but we can’t save the baby, now, all we can do is take the strange creatures that grew from it and turn them into new people. and that’s… better than nothing… but it’s not the same.
Warning: possibly upsetting hypothetical! Imagine if some country catastrophically mismanaged the transport of some purple refugees and got most of them killed, and purples in your country adopted kids who were orphaned by this event. Would you consider the deaths worth it? Would you be angry at the people responsible? It seems strange if you don't share their views, but when things like this happen to reds, red-rightsers see it as equivalent to the same thing happening to clean people.
okay i get your point i guess but that is super not the same thing, this hypothetical only has purples and the real story has both reds and ex-reds
which makes sort of a big difference to the story b/c you’ve gotta admit ex-reds matter more than reds, even if you think reds matter a lot, so even a smaller bit of good stuff happening to ex-reds could be worth a whole lot of bad stuff happening to reds

Noted author Tefam Kita, best known for their Blackout series of novels, died in hospital yesterday afternoon at the age of 40. They are survived by their spouse Imat Tuac, sibling Achit Tseco, four children, and numerous descendants.
In accordance with Tefam’s wishes, donations in their name may be made to the Unaligned Oranges’ League.
A private memorial service will be held for close friends and family by invitation only.

Friendly reminder that the phrase to use when a ‘dirty word’ slips out is “pardon my Oahkar.”
If you change it to “pardon my Yanitaz” you’re not being ‘cute’ or ‘clever,’ you’re making light of a very serious tragedy and you are disgusting.

if you send out a bunch of job apps right now, or rent a place right now, maybe the dates will be close enough together that it seems like you’d been planning it for a while? you’d have to move a season earlier than you’d like, but
and/or hypothetically you could figure out which yellow is handling your exception request and hypothetically give them a big bribe, idk how bribable your country’s bureaucrats are but hypothetically most people are if the bribe is big enough
or, hmm, if having family or partners in varen would help, someone you know might be willing to rent a place for a month and move-there-on-paper to help you out
or find some rando who lives in varen already and pay them to claim to be your partner
idk if any of those would work, you know your country’s systems better than me. but i thought i’d throw out some suggestions, maybe they’ll work or maybe they’ll help you think of a better idea which could
i hope you find a way around this, forcing people to stay in a place they don’t like is awful

so you know I was talking about moving from Sarico to Varen after I spent another season improving my resume, right? Sarico has awful weather and no nightlife to speak of, I don���t want to be trapped here forever.
well our FUCKING government has just announced they’re trialing some new welfare policy in Sarico and I’m not allowed to move for two years! Because it might make the results inaccurate if people who dislike the policy move away!
You can apply for an exception if you can prove you were planning to move anyway, but I don’t have any family or partners in Varen and I was planning to move a season from now. It’s not like I’ve rented a place and lined up a job.
Fuck my life.
