A proper farewell and the beginning of a new journey!
Hello all! Wow, it’s been a long while since I’ve used Tumblr for more than like 10 minutes. As most of you know I was pretty active on Tumblr before I deleted my old blog and made this new one two and a half years ago (God has it really been that long). Well, I apologise for not updating often. When I initially decided to remake my blog it was so I could have a neater, cooler looking blog where I also made original content. My old blog if anyone remembers - I can hardly - was a huge mess with a lot of posts. I’m sad to say I’ve lost interest in reblogging posts. There’s nothing wrong with blogging on Tumblr by reblogging. It can be very fun I spent years doing it and I’m still connected to Tumblr after 5 years as I’ve been blogging on Tumblr since I was 14. That’s really insane! I’ll be 19 later this month (29 December) but I’ve been blogging since I was a pubescent introverted teen who didn’t know much. Now I’m legally an adult, nearly on the last year I can actually be referred to as a “teenager” and I know a little more (I think haha). Still pretty introverted though but more social.
Anyway, I hold Tumblr very dear to my heart. I spent a lot of time on the internet as a shy teenager without much confidence or self esteem. I still get emotional at the progress I’ve made. I’ve not struggled as much as some people but my confidence and self-esteem has drastically improved since I was 14. Tumblr has helped significantly in increasing my interest for the things I love. I am passionate about films partly because I got into watching more films while I was active on Tumblr. Films are among other things I got interested in or Tumblr fuelled my interest in. Another important thing I’ve gained from using Tumblr is the amount of kind, sweet and lovely friends I’ve made over the years. I’m very proud of the connections I’ve made and will try my best to keep in contact with a lot of the people. Thank you.
Now, I’ll get to the point. I’ve decided to make a personal blog. This doesn’t mean I’ll delete this blog but as you may have noticed I don’t update this blog often. This is simply because I don’t have that much time having just had my first semester at University but also to be honest I’ve lost interest in reblogging things. It feels good to write this post and writing is a passion of mine as well as film. So if you want the best of both worlds as well as other writing from me check out my new personal blog http://emmanuelwrites.tumblr.com/. It is unpolished and empty at the moment but in the upcoming weeks and months I will be posting and updating on that blog. I aim to post something at least once a week which doesn't seem like much but it’s the minimum and a hell of a lot more than I posted on this blog recently.
Thank you friends for this journey! I know that sounds ridiculous but it kind of has been a journey. Not specifically on Tumblr, though it is a big part of it, but my use of the Internet throughout my teenage years has helped me as person for the better. It’s been a really great year and I’m looking forward to an even better one. I’m also the editor of a blog for my University’s film society, check it out here http://biglensfilm.com/. And that is all. Thanks for reading all that. I tend to ramble but if you for some strange reason enjoy that you can catch more of it on my new personal blog.
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and have a wonderful New Year!
