I do not ship bellarke. Why do yall always always always make it about ships when we talk about racism in this show. I’m not dragging lexa into this, I’m saying it’s hypocritical and very telling that yall cared about the way the white woman died because she was representation but are actively celebrating and enjoying the way the moc died even though he was representation. He didn’t resonate with you but bellamy resonated with many poc. He resonated with me, as a brown asian woman. He resonated with my friends. The way yall keep talking about how it’s okay to celebrate his death because of the way we (who is we because I was just as angry about lexas death and literally stopped watching after lincolns) treated yall makes no sense because yall treated us like shit too. The amount of racism and biphobia I experienced in this fandom was crazy, and it was always because I had the gaul to talk about the racism in this show, including the brownface and bindi your fave wore, a mockery of my culture. That’s not to excuse the shit others pulled on yall but all fandoms were shit, it still doesn’t give anyone the excuse to celebrate a racist death. If you honestly don’t think theres a problem with thinking celebration of a white lesbians death is lesbophobic but celebration of a moc’s death isn’t racist, knowing the history of racism in this show and in this fandom, then I don’t know what to tell you but thanks for proving my original point, I guess.
Not to expose myself as someone who used to watch the 100 but the way the people who cried, screamed and rioted because they lost representation are the same one’s who are laughing at the death of one of the only filipino leads, one of the handful of asian leads in american television history is very telling. The way y’all were rightfully angry at the way they killed the white lesbian but are laughing at a moc being killed by a white woman after bending down to a white man. Just say y’all only care about white people cause y’all were never good at hiding it.

... I stopped watching the show when lincoln died. And I got death threats and told I was lesbophobic and didn’t care about wlw representation because of it. I was told I was faking my bisexuality and my race, hated myself, told to kms. They were racist as fuck when they thought they were getting their own endgame too. And there were many bellamy fans who tried to talk about the racism on the show that were told to shut up because of this. I talked about racism then and I’m allowed to talk about racism now. Again, if it was lesbophobic for a white lesbian (in brownface and a bindi) to die in the way she did then it’s racist as fuck for a moc to die the way he did.

the white lesbian in unapologetic brown face and a bindi who, after she died, had multiple mentions when there were rarely, if ever, any mentions of the countless poc who died. Where were the mentions of wells who was the main protagonist’s best friend, lincoln who was just as important to a main character, arguably more so, than lexa, monty who saved all of them, jaha who was an integral part of the first 4 seasons, anya who was literally the main antagonist for so long, etc, etc. I am so tired. This show, it’s writers, and especially jroth are racist as fuck and I am tired of this being ignored because of ships.

People pointing out that open heart only has one main white character so it can’t be racist but choosing to neglect the fact that the whole book focuses predominately on that one main white character while sidelining every other character of colour is unbelievable. The fact that it has so many characters of colour to focus on but chooses specifically to give the most attention to the one (1) white one is racist. I can’t believe this needs to be spelled out.

As another desi, just because we’re poc, it does not mean we get to tell Black and non-white latinxs what is and isn’t racist in terms of their representation. It’s not your right to determine what is and isn’t racist for a race that is not your own.
as a poc... can i just come out and say it's not racist if pb kills off raf or kyra? i mean i get it upsets raf fans, but kyra has been a cancer patient since the first book, and raf is someone who knowingly risks his life on a daily basis. MOREOVER, there's literally only one white character in the series that's important to the narrative, ethan ramsey. every other white character is a villain whose death isn't going to be sad.
it's racist to kill off characters of colour when there are few of them. this series is literally so diverse that killing off coc's isn't racist, it's just statistically likely.

@playchoices if your storyline isn't suitable because of protests against racism, it isn't suitable at any time.

saying “i hope you’re happy now” because pb put oph on another hiatus is so fucking dismissive.
people are rightfully complaining about pb’s treatment of poc in this crappy book and are allowed to do so and if that means oph continues to go on hiatus then so be it. maybe if @playchoices learned to stop sidelining poc, or killing them off apparently, oph wouldn’t be in this situation

Im not mad at June tbh. She was the only woman on the team and with Naveen's and Ethan's relationship and her and Ethan's rivalry its really likely that she felt underappreciated and was overlooked.
