Hi, I hope you are doing great, I was wondering if you can recommend somw resources and textbooks for studying paediatrics?
I haven’t used it much, but a lot of my friends said the Oxford handbook of Paediatrics is really good! It’s got loads of info in though, so I wouldn’t worry about learning it all, but it’s a nice little book like all the handbooks.
I mainly used the illustrated textbook of paediatrics, which is really nice and colourful, nicely explained, etc, but it isn’t THAT detailed so it depends how much you want to go into it.
And as for all parts of medicine, I really recommend this website, patient.info/doctor, for really good proformas on the conditions. For example here’s their page on congenital GI malformations.

Just found out about the diving reflex in newborns and I dying of the amount of cuteness in these videos. 😍
The reflex is a primitive reflex that disappears in the first few months, and it goes as: when you place the baby in the water, he stops breathing involuntary, no water can entertain lung and it all shifts to the esophagus, and the baby exhibits lovely coordinated swimming movements which are super cute. 😍
Of course, after few seconds, they need adult help to get to the surface and breath.
