Hey I’m so obsessed with the Bunny series🥹💗it will forever hold a special place in my heart. I love the way they’re so obsessed with her. I find myself reading it over and over again, I’ve done so for the past year. I’m probably too obsessed but it’s one of my favorite series to have ever been written on tumblr.
I felt like telling you lol. Do you think you’ll ever update it again or finish it off? I hope my question doesn’t sound too harsh or straight forward💗love your work!! I hope you’re doing well
Hi! Thank you for such sweet words ahh! I will update! Im speaking it into existence! (I have several parts written already I just need to clean it up and make it make sense)
I had some issues with medical negligence, which was so fun and fresh and not at all damaging to my psyche, but luckily no permanent damage was done and I'm back to my normal state. Naturally, i was extremely stressed between that and moving so I just had to take a break. I even stooped taking commissions for three months it was so bad.
BUT I'm on the other side and slowly getting back into writing since the rest of my life has finally gone back to normal. You guys are always so patient with me and I hope that continues as I get back into the swing of things on here slowly.
Love you all💖💖💖

Remember when I said THB would get pretty dark at times?
Anyways, here's a lil sneak peak of the next part! :D
Warnings: suicide attempt discussed, (none of the main characters), murderous thoughts, trauma, familial issues/abuse mentioned, paternal figure death discussed, verbal abuse, it's not great lol
They would come home to find you gone soon enough, and there was no way they’d want you back after you chose to come here, “Yeah, well.” You shrugged, “I think you should take a seat now.” You coaxed gently, slowly taking a step toward him.
“Why?” He hissed, “You know I’m better off with your father.”
The self-pity made your eyes twitch, but you pressed forward carefully as you approached him, “I don’t know a thing.” You simply said, “Let’s just get you down.”
“What? Are you scared I’ll sober up enough to do it?” He let out a scoff, “Come on, it’s family tradition to take care of the body.” He reminded you, and you could feel the sting of tears behind your eyes start to build up.
“Stop it.” You seethed.
“Why’d you even come?” He demanded.
“Don’t know.” You spoke honestly, “I was supposed to be at a dress fitting right now, but here I am, ruining that.”
“You ruin everything.” He mused as if the fact were just that simple. Hell, maybe it was, “You see? We were never the problem, it was you.” He spoke, but you still made your way to him carefully so you could bring him firmly to solid ground, “Not me, not your father, not your mother, not even Donghee.”
The words hit you like a ton of bricks, and you had to take a step back. You didn’t know why until you saw your hands called into fists, shivering with a restraint that you didn’t know you needed. You… were going to push him.

Wait. So. I just started watching the anime “Brothers conflict.” Is that the inspiration for the household bunny?!😂
Yes totally LMAO i have it in the a/n of the masterlist and even made (badly done) moodboards for it when i was like 17 or 18(?) Round that age lol
The anime has so many flaws so I changed a lot in my original idea of the story to where it's mostly the premise I drew inspo from and like none of the plot points (i think idk it's been awhile) but I was a 13 yr old when I saw it so it obvi did something to my little brain 🤠

ahhh will hobi tell jungkook about her work friend?
i wonder how'd jungkook react at her receiving male attention...
i can't tell you how much i'm loving your story hehe x
Jungkook has a solid history of trying to act nonchalant but kind of sabotaging any and all her dates lol it's honestly second nature to him at this point, but there is a possibility he could feel emboldened to be a little more unhinged with its since he's on a "no secrets" kick between them

Answering asks later today so I'm begging for some more🫶
Moonlight Reign Ch. 6
A/n: Sorry I keep taking long ass breaks, but one thing about me is that I eventually come back with a long ass chapter. Hopefully as my mental health improves from this god awful summer heat, I'll be more consistent and motivated lol. Pls enjoy and pls talk to me I need the validation or I'll wilt like a sad little houseplant. (I'm kidding mostly but any interaction and asks are so very loved and they really do keep my motivation up) Thank you all so much for your patience and pls remember this series is dark, and it is way darker than The Household's Bunny, heed all the trigger warnings and put your mental health above all. For some, it's healing to engage with dark media and for others it is not, both are valid. Okie lecture over, have fun!

“Minjoo, I think you’re swell and all, but you cannot just nap in here all day.” You pinched the bridge of your nose when the teenage girl huffed.
“Why not? I feel sick.” She pouted.
You cast her a disbelieving look that made her shrink a bit, “For one, I’ll get in trouble and two, you’ll miss class.” She rolled her eyes, and as much as the gesture annoyed you it was a little nice for someone her age to feel safe enough doing that to you, “Come on, knowledge is power and all that.”
She scoffed at this, sitting up in the cot, “Didn’t you skip class growing up?” She asked, and you snorted.
“I was homeschooled.” You corrected.
“Lucky.” She huffed, “No annoying teachers or people to deal with.”
You sighed, “Annoying people will always find you, dear student.” You tapped your nails on the desk for a moment, “Plus, my education was very low quality, and I had a lot to make up for in college.” You put it extremely lightly.
“Really?” She asked, a curious twinkle in her eye as you nodded, “But you’re so smart.” You smiled a bit at the compliment, “So since you’re smart I could be smart too without class all the time.” You frowned, always a set up with these kids.
“Wanna know how I got so smart without proper high school?” You asked and she nodded eagerly, “I didn’t party in college.” Horror crossed her features, “Not even once.” You sighed in mock disappointment, “I had to close myself in my room for years just studying my little heart out because I didn’t have a good basis in my high school years.” You mused dramatically before giving her a sweet smile, “So I guess you could do the same–”
“I better get to class.” She rushed out, “Feeling better, Ms. Nurse, you’re the best!” She quipped, grabbing her bag and fast walking out of the office.
You chuckled to yourself, “Works every time.” You sighed out, now well practiced on how to deal with students.
Once again, Changhyun timed his entrance with a student walking out of your office. He quickly stepped back so he didn’t run into Minjoo, looking at you with wide eyes and you shrugged. At first, you didn't think much of his entrance until you remembered the lunch plans you both made. Somehow yesterday felt like ages ago.
Nevertheless, your face didn't betray you at least. However, your scattered brain did when you realized you forgot to bring a lunch. You opened your desk drawer, thanking your lucky stars for the protein bar in it.
"Hi." The teacher smiled sheepishly, lifting his lunch bag, "Still good for lunch?" He asked, evidently nervous. You smiled tightly with a nod as you lifted your protein bar. He frowned at this, "Is that all you have?" He asked, a look of clear concern that unsettled you. Usually Jungkook was the only one to look at you like that…
But that didn’t exactly matter anymore, especially not now,  "Uh, I forgot my lunch, and I'm not a big fan of what's on the menu today so…" You trailed off, hoping he could add two and two together.
He nodded in understanding before his eyes lit up, "Oh then I can share with you." He smiled, the sentence nowhere near a question, but you still wanted to say no.
“That’s okay it’s–” You tried to explain the protein bar was more than enough for now, but he quickly shut your objections down. Funny how Jungkook made it way more charming.
“Nonsense, I made too much anyway.” He unpacked his lunch on your desk, the kimbap and japchae looking way too tasty, “I had some leftover from dinner last night.” He explained, gesturing over to the japchae, “So please, dig in.”
The lunch with Chanhyun was going much better than you though it would. He was funny and had no problem filling the silence you weren’t all that comfortable breaking with words. Your dependence on Jungkook socially was quickly becoming glaringly obvious. No wonder you didn’t have any other friends, you had no idea how to talk to anyone else. The feeling of people wanting to know what you had to say was still too foreign.
He droned on and on about his studies, his aspirations to get a Master’s degree, and his mother who was constantly trying to set him up on blind dates. He, thankfully, didn’t inquire about you that much, “You gotta try this, I out did myself.” He urged, breaking you from your own mind. Obviously you had been stuck there for a while since by the time you registered his words, he held kimbap up to your face.
You smiled a bit, not thinking too much of being fed. Jungkook did it to you all the time, so it must be a friend thing. Once you opened your mouth to accept the food, knock on your door made you jump.
The person behind the door didn’t bother waiting for you to respond, and the door swung open to reveal a man you had never seen before. His eyes widened with yours when they met only for them to then narrow when he saw the man feeding you, “What uh… is going on here?” He asked, looking between you and Changhyun.
The teacher jumped, scooting back and looking way too guilty for someone that was only feeding you, “I-I’m sorry, uh…” He trailed off when he studied the man, evidently not knowing him which only meant one thing…
“Jung Hoseok.” He smiled tightly, and the familiarity of the name made you internally curse as he shook hands with your coworker. His name was on all of the pain meds in Jungkook’s medicine cabinet. You had only seen it from the times you had to seriously patch him up, and now you regretted committing the name to memory.
“Kang Changhyun, I’m a teacher here.” He smiled.
Hoseok nodded, “I’m y/n’s… friend.” He said the title in a way that made Changhyun bristle and you scrunch your brows, “I was coming to pick her up for lunch, but–”
“I told you I had planned to eat lunch with a coworker.” Changhyun flinched at the title, which Hoseok noticed when you failed to, “Did you get the day wrong?” The lie was awkward and stiff, but it matched the vibe just fine. It didn’t take a genius to figure out that you had little to no undercover training, and it was kind of endearing to the pharmacist to watch you flounder around for a lie. If you were putting up an act in doing that, he was beyond impressed. However, your eyes were too sincere to even consider that a viable possibility. You utterly fascinated him in all of the ways you should’ve bored him to tears.
He laughed, giving you a moment to study him in his casual streetwear and beanie. His smile was surprisingly genuine as he regarded you, which was a welcome contrast to the other bosses you had encountered. Neither Namjoon nor Yoongi were all that horrible to you, but you couldn’t really place how much they disliked you. However, Hoseok was either a great actor or just genuinely kind toward you as he playfully smacked his forehead, “Ah, it’s Tuesday, isn’t it?” You nodded, swallowing hard, feeling like you were at that improv class Jungkook dragged you to years ago all over again, “I thought it was Wednesday.” He chuckled, shaking his head.
Changhyun laughed along with him before a subtle glare silenced hime. You looked between the two, perplexed, “Uh-huh…” You trailed off, unsure what the hell to say at this point.
Hoseok could’ve taken this lull as the opportunity to take his leave, but something about the way that teacher studied you made his skin crawl. Either you were extremely shy about your affections or you had no idea this guy was into you, “I almost thought I interrupted a date.” He said, looking at Changhyun before laughing.
You balked at this, giving him his answer. You were clueless, and why wouldn’t you be? The other guys, including him, didn’t want to believe him when Jungkook said it, but you were woefully inexperienced in the modern world, “A date?!” You’d gone on a few dates before in college, but nothing beyond that. No one had ever really piqued your interest, especially not when Jungkook took up so much of your time. Plus, he always vetted the people you dated, sometimes even insisting you cancel because of his findings. You were no virgin, but you were pretty clueless when it came to the intricacies of dating, especially as an adult.
“Well, he was feeding you.” Hoseok pointed out, making the teacher freeze and you cock your head to the side. The confusion written on your features nearly made Hoseok’s knuckles turn white as his fists clenched tightly. Had this guy been trying to make a move on you and you didn’t even know? How could you not know?
You scoffed, “Jungkook feeds me all the time and we’re just friends.” You pointed out, prompting Changhyun to look at you in surprise, “Is feeding someone romantic or something?” You asked curiously, face heating from embarrassment.
Hoseok internally rolled his eyes. Of course Jungkook tried to romance you without telling you. However, you liked Jungkook, he had earned your trust at some point evidently. But this guy? You called him a coworker, not a friend. He narrowed his eyes at Changhyung, “Is it?”
The teacher shook his head, “N-No!” He protested loudly, making you jump and the sight chipped away at Hoseok’s patience. You had never seen the teacher so nervous… or red, “I was just sharing my food because she forgot her lunch.” He explained and Hoseok looked up at you like a dog with a bone.
“Oh, you did?” He asked you and when you nodded he grinned, “Well, let me take you out now then.” He urged and you crossed your arms.
“Don’t be rude… Hobi.” The nickname rolled off your lips uncomftorably, but it made him smile wide, “I’m having lunch with Changhyun–”
A glare from Hoseok was all it took, “Actually, I think I have a parent conference I forgot about in a bit.” The teacher choked out, hurriedly packing his lunch up, “Thank you for reminding me it’s Tuesday.” He cleared his throat before nodding at Hoseok, “Nice meeting you.” He hurriedly spoke before scurrying past him. You scrunched your brows. How did Changhyun, who always chirped the days of the week as an opener to most conversations, forget what day it was?
Hoseok nodded at him with a tight smile before letting it drop when he was out of sight, “He’s a real catch.” He sarcastically spoke making you shake your head.
“Not here.” You hissed, “Come on.” You urged, pushing him through the door, “Take me to lunch, buddy.” You cursed him, but he only chuckled.
The black sports car was no surprise to you. However, his insistence on opening the door for you took you back a bit. So much so, you obliged and got into the car, catching a whiff of the citrus notes in his cologne. Thankfully, you held onto your annoyance as he got into the car, “Yoongi said I would be told prior if any of you were going to show up at my work.” You deadpanned, crossing your arms as he began driving.
Hoseok was less than deterred by your tone, and you couldn’t tell if that annoyed you, “That is my bad.” He pointed out, “I did think it was Wednesday. I had a message scheduled to warn you set to send…” He looked at the clock in his car, “Now.” He sighed, and you looked down at your phone that buzzed.
This is Jung Hoseok, I’ll be swinging by tomorrow around this time to provide you with our pertinent medical information. I’ll pose as a friend going to lunch with you. Looking forward to meeting you. :)
You snorted, undeniably amused. Sure, it annoyed you that he would just show up, but at least he hadn’t been an asshole intentionally, “I see.” You simply said.
“Ah, gone as quick as it came.” He sighed longingly, making you look at him curiously, “Your smile.” He explained, making your frown.
“Girls don’t like when you tell them to smile, you know?” You pointed out, making him chuckle.
“So you do know some societal norms.” He observed, “But you don’t know that feeding someone is intimate.”
Your face heated, “Oh come on.” You sighed, looking out the window, “It is not.”
“Don’t you watch dramas?” He offered, making you roll your eyes. Of course you did, you watched too many of them, arguably.
“Everything is intimate in dramas, that’s the whole point.” You sassed, unsure what caused you to feel comfortable enough to do so to him. Jungkook took months to crack you, but maybe that’s why this was so much easier. He had done all the hard work with you before, “Jungkook said I shouldn’t take those as a good example of the world.” You said, immediately regretting it. Talking about Jungkook just reminded you of how much you missed him. You were scared, and instead of braving all these changes on your own, you wanted to cling to him. Pathetic, you thought.
Hoseok seemed to absorb your words a little too intently for your liking, “Jungkook really taught you everything you know about the world, huh?” He asked, and it made you shift uncomftorably.
“Not that it’s any of your business.” You pointed out, but again he was unaffected by your tone, “But I don’t want you guys thinking I was seriously some spoiled princess, so I’ll tell you.” You explained and he kept his expression neutral, “I came out of… the organization with a lot of knowledge, but only what they wanted me to know. So no friends, no dates, no socializing, barely any school, barely much of anything the average kid got.” You watched the city pass by with a heavy heart, “Anything that wasn’t related to my task or my mission wasn’t worth teaching me, I guess.”
Hoseok blew out a low whistle. He wanted to say a million different things. The time he spent following you revealed more than he wanted to dwell on, but your admission put it all into perspective. You weren’t naive, you didn’t trust easy or fall for tricks, but you were still vulnerable, even if you could kill him in the blink of an eye. Even so, he could tell you weren’t a violent person who wanted to. You intrigued him, “Geez.” He simply said, pulling into a fast food parking lot, “So… college?”
You smiled sadly, pricking at his heart, “Scary at first.” You admitted, putting it lightly once again, “I knew how to protect myself, though.”
“Physically, yeah.” He mused, “But people, especially men who like how pretty you are, can hurt you in other ways.”
You scoffed at this, choosing to ignore his comment about you being pretty or what that did to your fluttering stomach, “You sound like Jungkook.” You knew he wasn’t patronizing you, but you didn’t want him to think you needed to be doted on or hovered over. If Changhyun crossed a line, you would be able to handle it. You had met other men before, after all– and much to Jungkook’s dismay, “He refused to leave me be until we became friends and then… he taught me as much as he could.”
“And he never asked why?” He wondered, and it opened your wound.
“Those were the days.” You muttered ruefully. You wanted to run to Jungkook to soothe your fears, but you couldn’t now, especially not when he was part of the reason. You shook it off as you let Hoseok open your door again before getting out of the car, “You’re paying right?” You looked over your shoulder, wanting to let go of the conversation.
Hoseok smiled at this, wishing the guys could see him now. They were always unsettled with how little he cared about the uglier parts of the world. And yet, here he was, warning some girl he just properly met about the dangers of men, as if he wasn’t one of the most dangerous in the country.
Even so, you weren’t just some girl to him, were you?
“I’m a gentleman, after all.” He snickered with a nod.
When the two of you got your food, he chose a table outside, letting you feel the chilled wind on your skin. It was a nice day, the perfect weather for your cardigan, and it made you smile as you watched the city move on with life in a way you could never just do, “Why are you being nice to me?” You finally asked, making him look up from his burger.
“How do you know I’m being nice?” He challenged, making you snort. It was a fair question, and one you still found difficult to answer.
You shrugged, “I just do, I guess.” You looked at him. You may not have been all that skilled in reading the more complex emotions or body language, but you knew what anger, suspicion, and hatred looked like. Hell, you even identified envy pretty well, but Hoseok had none of that. He reminded you of Eunhwa in a way, “You don’t hate me like those two do.”
Hoseok chuckled, “Taehyung and Jimin?” You nodded, “I wouldn’t take it personally, they have their own reasons.” He was a little sorry their insecurities about Jungkook had become your problem, but he liked that you felt comfortable enough to talk freely, “I love them, but they’re just… a bit too protective.” He smiled, “I’m older, though, so it’s easier for me to order them around.” He offered lazily, happy to just watch your face as he talked.
“Love them...” You echoes just barely under your breath, the very word so foreign. Before Hoseok could prod, you spoke again, “Still, why don’t you at least distrust me or act all… cold like Namjoon and Yoongi?”
Hoseok shrugged, “I don’t want to.” He spoke as if it were that simple, “I don’t think you deserve the cold shoulder, and I figure you could use a friend.” He swallowed the half lie down with your burger.
“Who says I want you to be my friend?” You challenged, making him laugh.
“Who says I asked if you did?” He retorted, and the warm sting in your heart brought Jungkook back to your mind, “We’re friends now, doll.”
You scrunched your nose, “Doll?” The nickname reminded you of being called a puppet all your life, but you tried not to jump to conclusions, “Why doll?”
“Your nails.” He gestured to the acrylics that were a girly pink with an array of decorative gems.
You smiled down at them, “I just let my nail tech freestyle.” You explained, “As long as they tap that’s all that matters to me.” You shrugged, but you had really come to love the expression of femininity. It’s something that wasn’t exactly promoted often growing up, so you enjoyed it more than one might expect.
“Jin would love them.” He smiled fondly as you gathered Jin was one of the seven, the last that you had yet to meet, “He used to do nails for extra cash in college.” You smiled at that, not sure if this Jin guy would like you, but the warmth in Hoseok’s smile was refreshing.
“So the nails make me a doll, huh?” You mused, wanting to ask more about Jin, but thought better of it.
“Well, not just that.” He admitted, drawing your eyes back to him, “Look at that cute face in the mirror.” He wiggled his brows and you nearly choked on your soda, making him chuckle.
You rolled your eyes, fighting the quirk of your lips. At least it made you hate the nickname less, “Whatever.” You shot back.
“Is that a smile I see?” He asked, leaning down to get a better look at you, but you covered your mouth.
“You wish.” You tried to deadpan through a laugh, and the whole thing reminded you of when you first met Jungkook. The natural charisma always had an affect on you.
Maybe you should’ve given Hosoek more pushback. Jungkook took weeks to make you agree to call him a friend, but you were older now. You understood that in a world full of strangers and enemies, a couple allies, even loosely made one, made life a little more livable. Plus, he treated you so… normal. Even knowing who you were and what you’ve done, he treated you like any other person, and you could use that kind of blase treatment, especially considering where you and Jungkook stood right now… wherever that was.
The drive back was nice. It was filled with a comfortable silence and a soft flurry of songs that made your chest feel lighter, “You’re taking the back roads?” You asked when you noticed the lack of highways.
He hummed in agreement, “The news broke.” He said, and the statement hit you like a ton of bricks, “You don’t need to see it plastered outside of the station.” He said it so simply, you almost didn’t register how thoughtful it was. The main news station was on the way to the school, and you knew they had that obnoxious TV outside showing all the breaking news. Your heart pounded at the thought of your voice being played over and over again, garbled beyond recognition.
“Thank you.” You breathed, unable to look at him.
“Am I your favorite yet?” He asked with a grin that broke some of the tension inside of you.
“I don’t have one.” You shot back, clearly lying. Jungkook was your favorite, purely by default at this point. You couldn’t get a read on Yoongi or Namjoon, Jimin and Taehyung hated you, Jin was a mystery, and you just met Hoseok. Jungkook had years ahead of them, but the mere thought of his face pissed you off. Still, you missed him in some sick way,
He eyed you with amusement shining in his irises, “Woah, you are a bad liar.” He snickered, making you balk at him, “I’ll be your favorite soon enough.” He sang, making you scoff, “For now, I’ll take second.”
“What makes you think you’re second?” Another lie he could see through, “Maybe Jin is my favorite.” You defiantly spoke, having never met the guy.
“You’re a fan of dramas, aren’t you?” He asked curiously, the change in subject giving you whiplash. How the hell did he know about your guilty pleasure? “Jungkook is a real chatterbox about inconsequential things like that.” He explained and you scowled.
“Why ask if you already knew?” You huffed, making him chuckle.
“Just to see your face.” He chimed and he laughed at the glare you shot his way, “Maybe Jin really will beat me for second?” He teased, and despite how annoying it was, it made you feel… normal. It felt good, and maybe Hoseok knew that’s what you needed somehow.
Or maybe he was just naturally that annoying.
Either way, you were thankful.
When you pulled up to the school, he gave you a pout, “Ah, our time was way too short.” He sighed ruefully, “If I didn’t have to go to lab, I’d talk you into taking a long lunch with me.” He winked, and you rolled your eyes.
“I got kids to see, you know?” You shot back, and he shrugged, uncaring of anything else that takes you from him.
“Oh, before I forget.” He reached in his backseat before giving you a file folder, “Here’s any medical info you may need for all of us. Don’t worry, they all know I’m giving you this.” He reassured you, and you took it with a nod.
“Thanks.” You nodded, slipping it into your tote bag.
His eyes lingered on you for a moment before speaking, “Is today… scary for you?”
You paused, looking down at your fingers against the file folder before sighing, “Would you believe me if I said this is the least scary one I’ve had?” You snorted pitifully before looking at the man with curious eyes, “Usually, it’s a question of if today is the day I’m found, but… it happened, and I’m still here.” You smiled tightly, unsure if you should be as elated as you were. Your relief didn’t take away the melancholy of abandonment, “I”ll take my wins where I can get them, I guess.”
He nodded, thinking for a moment before being unable to resist asking, “Jungkook mentioned that he usually spent the night at yours.”
You fought the urge to squeeze your eye shut to make this conversation go away, “Yeah… I have trouble sleeping.” You admitted, not sure how much keeping secrets from him should matter.
“WIll he be…”
You drew the line there, mostly because you didn’t know. Even if you wanted him with you tonight, would it even help? Or are you both too far gone for it to work? “Thank you for lunch, Hoseok–”
“Ah, ah, Hobi is my nickname, remember?” He tutted, but you were grateful he was dropping the subject. You were confused for a moment when he exited the car, but quickly understood when he opened your door for you once again with a grin.
You rolled your eyes in spite of his pretty smile, “Thank you for the lunch, Hobi.”
“Anytime, doll.” He winked before you brushed past him.
Watching you walk away was bittersweet, but he couldn’t fight the elation in knowing that soon you would be facing him once again. You were friends now, afterall.
You didn’t want to admit it, but there was a pang of disappointment when you found your door empty of Jungkook. Seeing him may not be what was best for you, but it was what you wanted right now. The walk home from the bus stop was horrid. The silhouette of a woman repeating your words on repeat were plastered everywhere, and it chased you home before you could even think to grab some food. Your voice was beyond recognition, thankfully, but your words identified you for your father with ease. You could’ve used the reminder of a life outside of that one, even if it were just a farce.
Still, you took a deep breath as you opened the door and faced your own solitude. It was a little funny, actually. You could cry on every billboard in the city for your family, and it still wouldn’t be real. Maybe you were just meant to be alone, everything else was a bandaid for the gaping wound it left. Was anything ever yours if it didn’t stick around?
The rattling of the key in the the lock, made you look down and it was only then you realized your hand was shaking. You snorted, already dreading the episode that was on the horizon as you pushed yourself to unlock the damn door already. Breathing was becoming a chore, and you just wanted to curl up and cry for the rest of the night since you’re body was demanding something you couldn’t supply: warmth. The least you could do was succumb to the pain of breathing lonely air.
You ripped the door open, and all time stopped when your eyes landed on the guilty gaze of Jungkook as he hovered over a plate of food. He was evidently in the process of putting the finishing touches as you looked at teh neatly laid note. You opened your mouth to say something, but you had nothing. You wanted to be angry, but instead your chest loosened and you could breathe again. He swallowed hard, “Wh– Fuck, what time is it?” He cursed himself when he saw, “Sorry, I… I didn’t mean to be here when you got home I…” He shook his head, scrambling for a better explanation, “I just wanted to make sure you ate, because I know–and understand why now– that today is…”
Your feet carried you until you were completed the two second sprint to Jungkook as you threw your arm around his neck to hold him as close as humanly possibly. Nothing mattered right now, and it simply couldn’t. What mattered is that he was warm, and most importantly he was Jungkook. Maybe you were stupid for literally throwing yourself to the man that exposed you to the dangers of the Underworld, or maybe youw ere just clinging to the only life line you had. Either way, your body sought his warmth.
He stiffened at first, but it was only when his arms slid around your waist that your knees gave out. Before you could fall, he held you tighter against him, fully supporting your weight as you cried into his shoulder. You weren’t sure how Jungkook was strong enough to hold you up like this, but it didn’t matter to you as he stroked your back and whispered reassurences into your ear while your mind drifted away with your cries.
Jungkook didn’t know when he’d get to hold you again, so he promised to make the most of it while your body shook against him, “It’s okay.” He whispered and you cried harder into his shoulder, your mumblings incoherent but striking nonetheless as your fists gripped his jacket, “I’m not going anywhere.” He promised, but he knew you couldn’t really hear him, and he was fine with that. Just being with you had always been enough for him, but the greed he had been trying and failing to keep at bay made him clutch you tighter. The way your nails sunk into his shoudlers made his heart soar a bit. Maybe you needed him as much he needed you, he was just more selfish. He was also okay with that. He could be okay with almost anything as long as he had you.
Movement in the hallway, made his eyes snap to a figure standing in the door way you accidentally left open. His fierce glare relaxed when he saw the older man. Namjoon stood, observing the scene with thinly veiled curiosity and concern. A million thoughts raced through him, but he couldn’t catch up to any of them as you wails cut through him. Something about seeing you break was nearly cracking the ice around the older man’s heart. He even felt the whispers of guilt cling to his stomach, but why should he feel guilty? You agreed to the statement–
You didn’t have a choice, he reminded himself. You didn’t have a choice, and he wondered how often that happened to you. How much of your life was yours, and why the hell does he even care to think of the question? Still, your body shook with visceral despair, something that he just knew couldn’t be an act, and it made him feel ill. He finally locked eyes with the younger man who held you as he pressed stray kisses to the crown of your head. How often had this happened? Judging by your friend’s quivering hands, not too often.
Jungkook gave the door a pointed look before looking back at the man who nodded curtly. Namjoon shouldn’t be seeing you like this, but grabbing the handle upset him in a way he didn’t understand. He didn’t want to leave as much as he wanted to run away and forget he ever saw this. There would be questions about this later, but the younger man didn’t care as his boyfriend quietly closed your door.
They would just have to come with time. Right now, Jungkook needed to focus on fixing the fractured relationship between you two first.
