I say this knowing that it's not universal and I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes who is in the line of work I'm mentioning, BUT:
I work in, let's say, "government insurance" and I deal with healthcare providers everyday. It's so sad that out of all of the assholes I've dealt with, it's Mental Health Counselors/Therapists/Social Workers that are the rudest, most impatient, most unkind and not understanding individuals I have the misfortune to work with.
I try my best to be kind and give everyone basic respect as a default and I can ALWAYS tell it's going to be a rough day when I see I have to deal with a counselor or therapist that day.
These are people who have entire careers based upon empathy and listening to others, helping people in vulnerable states. And they're absolute assholes to the faceless person on the other side of the phone just trying to help them get their insurance claims paid. Like, I am HELPING you. I'm on YOUR side. I'm not collecting debt, I'm not making things hard for you on purpose, I'm literally an assistant to make sure you get your money from the government.
I know we all get beat down by life and snap sometimes. It's just sad that it's so prevalent and it's ironic that it's motherfuckers who are supposed to put themselves in other peoples' shoes who are so wickedly vile to people in my line of work.
