I think it's really cute how Betty and Simon's relationship is showed in the latest episode but at the same time I think it was pretty fucked up. They weren't just extremely codependent but I also get the feeling that the entire relationship revolved around Simon and that made Betty loose her sense of self outside their relationship. Like through all of adventure time the only thing Betty did was try to find ways to help Simon reverse the curse of the crown, and in the last episode you can see how she kinda regrets not going to that research to stay with Simon. But I think the worst part is that Simon, even though he cared a lot about her, never thought about the things she wanted, like when Fionna ask him if they went together to the research after she went with him to his expedition, he asked Fionna why would they go
