I desperately wish I could redo my college experience; I can't help but wonder how much different it would've been had I gone by MY choice and not because my parents forced me. Yes, technically I was successful on paper; I graduated, I got my degree, I got my publishing cert, but I walked away from that campus with very little because I was in a horrible place mentally, and that ruined my entire experience.
I've been thinking about this nonstop lately with my working on my novel (or at least outlining and note-taking), and I hate so much that there's not a single person from my university that I kept in contact with and vice versa. No one I could co-op being a beta for; I have a very small circle of friends, but their tastes are very different than mine OR they're not writers at all.
I just would kill to have someone also working on a novel that I could bounce ideas off of with...
