Dear scientists/engineers/robotics experts or whomever may be in charge of designing robots
Please stop giving them human faces. It is incredibly creepy and I do not want to interact with them. Below I have compiled a list of viable alternatives to design your robots with the intent of being approachable and user friendly. This is not good. No one wants this ⬇️
Tumblr media
The screen face
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pros: Simple, humanoid, capable of displaying more than just facial expressions, doesn't creep me the fuck out
Cons: none, this is perfection
The google eye(s)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cons: Capable of minimal facial expression
Pros: Provides some form of face for the user to connect and make eye contact with, cute, doesn't creep me the fuck out
Literally no face at all
Tumblr media
Cons: there isn't a face
Pros: DOES NOT. CREEP ME. THE FUCK. OUT.
This is not a complicated concept, please stop. It would be easier and less creepy to just draw a smiley face on the robot in sharpie

hey you ever think about the fact that the Asphodelia flowers we see everywhere in the dreaming city came from the flower Uldren picked from the black garden. How enough time had passed since his entry into the Black Garden and now for it to become an engrained part of Awoken culture. How long was Uldren dealing with the madness Bungie. How long was he slowly drifting apart from Jolyon

God this community is so fucking split.
I feel bad for everyone that just wants to enjoy Destiny or wants to get into destiny, everywhere you go it's people complaining about metas, asking for things to come back and immediately 180 into hating the devs for bringing things back, complaining about not getting anything new yet every time something new comes out it's an immediate "this is shit" or spamming "RECYCLED CONTENT" when it's just too similar to something else, begging for more pvp content then getting salty when we get it
This community just needs to stop. It needs to stop entirely.
Gambit is fun, it just doesn't get the care it deserves because you lot insist on more crucible content
Why do you even need more crucible content? We don't need 50 modes and 100 maps, crucible is about killing the other team and doing objectives before the enemy team does. The maps don't fucking matter anymore. There's already plenty of them and you've just gotten three more. Fuck off.
Stop with immediately discarding everything that isn't a perfect meta. Plenty of weapons are just fine, stop whining about not getting a new weapon with all your favorite metas, because what has happened is the devs ship out weapons built mainly around metas instead of niche weapons that have potential to be really neat weapons. It's why a lot of newer perks have mainly been about damage. There's no interest in synergies, or interesting perk combinations, it's all Voltshot this and Bait And Switch that. Sure, there's neat combos that end up as a meta, but we should have a sole focus on meta, as that's led to the BRAVE arsenal being designed purely around metas as we've seen from the reveals. And we all saw the craftable combinations for Whisper and Outbreak, I saw you fuckers in the chat automatically complaining about perks that weren't "good". FUCK YOU! THOSE PERKS CAN HAVE SYNERGY WITH THE EXOTIC WEAPONS, AND THEIR VARIOUS SCENARIOS! THE DEVS THEMSELVES SAID THEY WERE MEANT FOR DIFFERENT SKILL LEVELS AND PREFERENCES! More importantly, such heavy focuses on meta have led to everything being more difficult and hectic for new/casual players.
I love this game with all my heart, but without a doubt I hate the community. To the few like me who just want a game to play and enjoy, I hope the community doesn't make you want to stop playing like it has for others. Don't let them tell you what to like, don't let them decide what you should use.
Let's enjoy this game while we still can.

I was wondering, and maybe I just missed it, but do we know exactly how the current invasion of The Last City started?
Was it stated anywhere or is that part of the weekly lore we are getting via the sealed weapon rooms in the Hall of Champions?
It was genuinely not specified! It's also strange because the Pyramids are not over the City when you're in the Tower, but they are when you're on Midtown in Onslaught:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I KNOW this is because changing the skybox in the Tower for this is probably not worth it; they would have to revert it after a while anyway, but still. I think that the view from Midtown should be what's canonically happening and I would've loved to see something in lore about how people reacted when the Pyramid ships appeared over the Last City! It's a big deal!
So far the lore book from the sealed rooms has not mentioned anything in particular. Honestly, only the cutscene at the start of Into the Light says anything about an invasion:
"Now across the Last City territory, the forces of the Witness surge. Our borders are under siege."
Shaxx's initial quest said this:
Tumblr media
And Ikora said this:
Tumblr media
There's really no mention of a specific starting point or what the reactions were when Pyramids literally appeared in the Earth's sky. Most likely it's just meant to be a conclusion of the invasion of Earth that started all the way back in Defiance/at the start of LF, with the Witness' forces following some sort of final directive to prevent us from going into the portal. I'm giving them a pass for this not being more detailed because Into the Light was not originally planned.
It would be pretty nice to see some reactions though. Pyramids over the City has been one of those things I've always wanted to see. And! It has been prophesied :) :
The sphere of the Traveler was gone. In its place, an obsidian monolith at least twice the size dominated the sky. In the Last City’s place was a swirling dust storm, tinged purple by the dying light.
Tumblr media
A little more dramatic than we have it, but this image of the Pyramid over the City in the place of the Traveler has been a thing I've always wanted to see. It's somewhat a dream come true to see it on Midtown now, but I would definitely prefer if it were more detailed, with more lore about reactions and if they had been able to change the Tower skybox.
Maybe we'll get something as it goes on, but I wouldn't expect some wildly detailed insight into it. Which again, I can forgive due to the circumstances in which Into the Light was made.

We've been following feedback that there should be better incentives to stay in Onslaught for the full 50 waves, so teammates don't dip out after wave 10. We're adding two additional weapon rewards to Onslaught and buffing Trophies of Bravery drops to help address this.
Change 1: A chance for one additional weapon to drop when you complete a wave. The drop chance will increase per wave until you get your weapon, and the drop will be guaranteed on wave 50.
Change 2: A bonus weapon will also drop after you complete wave 50 in either difficulty. This change along with the first means that completing 50 waves will guarantee two additional weapons.
We will also be increasing the number of Trophies of Bravery you receive from completing waves 40 and 50 of Onslaught and waves 30, 40, and 50 on Legend Difficulty.
Our goal with these changes is to make sticking it out into the later waves feel more rewarding.
We've also seen people ask if Shaxx's vendor reputation will be able to be reset. Lord Shaxx's vendor in the Hall of Champions was not meant to be reset and any text stating a reset is available is a bug. We investigated adding resets, but it wasn't feasible at this time.
One of our goals with adding the additional chance for a weapon to drop when completing an Onslaught wave (as detailed above) is to increase the total rewards earned, as you can no longer earn BRAVE engrams from Shaxx after you hit his reputation cap.
We are targeting an update next week to get these changes live in the game.

Destiny 2 | What is a Guardian? "Are we gods? We are connected to the weft and weave of the universe. No one knows how long we live. We stand alongside those without our gifts. We know intimatley their lifespans, their mortality, despite their resilience. Mortals live more intensley than any Guardian I've known, love harder perhaps. They know tomorrow is never guaranteed, that everything they could become dies with them. So, are we protectors? Our gifts were meant to defend against impossible threats. Those who need us have never needed us more, but we could do nothing and they would still die. What is a Guardian in that moment? Now across Last City territory, the forces of The Witness surge. Our borders are under siege. Does that make us soldiers? Pushing back buys us only time, but the alternative is unthinkable. We built a city none of us dared to dream of, with allies from unlikeley places. We have never had more to lose. I turn the question to you on the eve of our darkest hour. What is a Guardian? Define us in this moment for all time." - Ikora Rey

New thing to think about dropped. I've been losing it for a week now.
So, Whisper of the Worm mission always had a portal, in the big room just before the first enemy encounter. You could always get to the portal and look into it and it would show you... Vault of Glass! Even back in the day, before VoG was in D2, you could see it. There's a corresponding portal inside of Vault of Glass from which, in D2, you could see the Whisper mission.
This area with the portal was also a part of the mission, as oracles would appear and had to be shot in the right order for the exotic ship. Original view of the portal from before vaulting, looking into the Vault of Glass:
Tumblr media
View into Whisper from VoG when it was released in D2 in Splicer:
Tumblr media
These two things were never in the game at the same time until Into the Light! With the return of Whisper, they're finally together so you can go into VoG and look into Whisper, and vice versa. Or at least.... you can... Once.
When I did Whisper the first time it returned, I naturally went to the portal to check. It was showing the same image as it did before; Vault of Glass. This was the situation in Into the Light, on first clear (screenshot from a friend because I only have footage of it, this is much clearer):
Tumblr media
All is well! The portals link!
Except when I did the mission again... The portal image changed and remained changed. It's not showing Vault of Glass anymore. This is what it shows for every clear after:
Tumblr media
Absolutely bizarre. Going through the trouble of changing the image is quite wild if done for no reason. You don't really have to go to that area! And you would have to go to that area on your first clear to even notice the difference, so you would have to know that it's there and what it looked like before.
So what is the Whisper portal showing now? Absolutely no clue. The area is still in some sort of a cave, and it's very purple/dark. There's lights that might be Vex lights. The big central light could also be radiolaria? It's super hard to tell. I don't think it's looking into another area in VoG and I've tried comparing it to some other places mainly from Io or Venus, but I couldn't find something that matches from what little we can see.
But the fact that they changed the portal image can't be random. There's no need to do that at all in the first place, unless it's supposed to serve some purpose. Maybe some hint? I wonder if it will change again with reset, or maybe become clearer. I doubt there will be a lot of alterations going forward, if any, but I'll be checking every week for sure.
Also, there's oracles to shoot every week (2 available this week), for the new exotic ship associated with the mission. The original, A Thousand Wings and the new one, Karve of the Worm, comparison:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The only difference is the Vex effects on the new one, and a new flavour text. To get the new one, you have to destroy a total of 7 oracles to get the ship. At least one of these will for sure be somewhere near the portal, because that's where the ship quest originally was, and it involved oracles. I wonder if something might happen with the portal when that triumph becomes finishable and the ship obtainable. Not hoping for something huge, but I feel like changing that portal image means something and we'll eventually find out what.

GHOST: There's the Conceptual Mind. And it's failed creation, or it's God. Huh, I never really thought about that before. What kind of beings create their own god? And it's not even an original
OSIRIS: Happens more than you think. Something to ponder AFTER the memory core's safely in hand.
GHOST: Right. Focus up Guardian!

I either missed this exotic mission, or forgot it. The mission was gorgeous and it was nice to see Sagira has a resting place
