In the years following Pleasure Island, Lampwick (turned human again) and Pinocchio grew up together as best friends, partners in pranks/mischief, and, eventually, lovers.
As of the present, Lampwick is 24 and Pinocchio is 22. Pinocchio has inherited the Workshop from his late father, Geppetto, and taken on Lampwick as his roommate.

"Lampwick's not a "sappy" guy, but he sure does some real nice things for me~
Every now and then, he'll get home and catch me in the middle of splitting wood for the workshop. I try to tell him to rest 'cause I know he's awful tired from dock work, but Lampy won't listen - he just grabs an axe and starts chopping!
He also helps out in the kitchen-- well, a little. Ever since Lampy almost burned down the workshop, I've been in charge of the cooking. He has lots of practice with peeling potatoes and carrots. Sure makes for great soup!
After supper, though, that's the best part. You might not believe it, but Lampy's got real talent with a flute! Since I carved him one for his birthday, he's been playin' all sorts of melodies with it~
And, sometimes, he even makes stuff up - just for me! Gee, it's swell...
But oh! I dunno if Lampy would like anyone besides us knowing about this. You won't tell anyone, right?"

"Well, I took Pinoke to this high end joint, yknow the sorta place with stuffy waiters and a candle on every table? Entertainment was pretty good, food was ta die for! 'Course everythin' was out of our price range, so we let ourselves out before dessert.
After that, me and Pinoke found this horse and carriage sittin’ out front, like it had our names on it~ We did what any guy would, we took it fer a spin, and the next thing ya know, sirens is wailin on every street! I dunno if it was cuz we skipped payin or borrowed the carriage or what, but it sure sounded like every cop in town was after us! Boy, was that a rush!
By then, Pinoke was all worked up, sayin' stuff about how he didn't want ta get inta trouble and just bein’ a big wuss. Arright, so I wasn't exactly lookin ta spend a night in jail either, ‘specially after a first date, yknow? So we ditched the ride somewhere in the park and found us a good bridge ta hide unda. Sirens didn’t stop til mornin’ so we spent the night there, which wasn’t all that bad, since it was just me and Pinoke. Gave us the chance to get real cozy with eachudder, if ya know what I mean~!
So, yeah, not bad fer a first date, huh? ‘Cept when we got back to Pinoke’s - his old man was still snoozin’ away, but that beetle. Christ, was he hell on the ears! Sure, the guy didn’t rat us out, but it musta been hours before Pinoke convinced him ta shuddup. As if somethin’ like a stupid lecture woulda ever stopped us from havin’ fun!”

"Sure I do! He was like a father ta me really. Made all sorts of neat toys and stuff fer me growin' up, includin' the best slingshot I ever had.
First time he gave it ta me, I was so excited, I couldn't wait ta use it! It'd been a while since I had one. Ended up breakin' one of his windows, but ya know what? The old man didn't even get mad! He just took me aside and taught me how ta aim more proper. Great guy, Geppetto was..."

"Huh. Been a while since anyone's asked me bout that joint. Almost don't seem real, what happened.
See, it's 'cause of Pinoke that I even changed back from bein' a- a- well, I'm pretty lucky. After I turned, I got sold ta Pinoke's old man 'cause he needed a beast to haul wood and junk.
I dunno how, but when Pinoke saw me, he just sorta knew. 'Course I thought he was losin' his grip when he started wishin' on stars ta make me human, but - get this - it worked!
(Ain't surprised his old man took it so well - when one of yer puppets comes ta life, there ain't nothin' left that can phase ya, I guess.)
But yeah, that's what happened and me and Pinoke've been best pals ever since."
