|| Thank you @ask2pfrance for being my 100th follower! Here's a gift for you. I might have accidentally forgotten which blog this was for, and gave him 18th century clothes, but I don't think you mind such a detail, haha :''^) I hope I didn't mess up his design too much, sorry. ||

what's your favorite book? or books, if it's hard to choose.
Tumblr media
"I can't name a favorite, but I can offer a reading recommendation instead, if you'll have it. Recently I've been reading L'homme au masque de fer, The man in the iron mask, which is very popular right now... Of course, to my shame it's entirely and exclusively in French, but it's such a good book that it can be forgiven this shortcoming. If you've read Les Trois Mousquetaires, this is a mandatory read. (PS. If you had told me I'd be wholeheartedly recommending a French book maybe a decade or two ago, I'd have laughed at you)"

|| Originally misspoke croquet as cricket, and still haunts some reblogs, and I am eternally embarrassed about that. Please reblog this fixed version, I beg of you. (without this addition preferably) ||
What do you guys do for fun?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"We're both avid horseback riders, and have always been. There's nothing as freeing as a good ride through the countryside. Otherwise it's mostly sports like Croquet . If you can really call it a sport, when there's no getting out of breath or even walking that much. We'd prefer running around, but that's not very proper."

Do you ever grow out facial hair?
Tumblr media
"I dabble in it every now and then, but it grows in so patchy and sparse that it just looks miserable. Most I can do is a moustache. Elizabeth mocks me for it every time..."

|| since in my canon nations are known to their people, I bet a lot of high society functions just devolve into "did you know my grandparents? What about my uncle?" from every direction to the two.
Worse is when they DO remember those people, but don't have the words to explain that grandpa was a playboy and probably a scammer, in a polite way. ||

|| Ohhh, Empress Sissi is in this timeline, I almost forgot. Can't tell if she and Victoria ever met, but... I should do something with that. I know Victoria and Queen Augusta of Prussia met, but that's 1860's and therefore I can't use it. Bleh. ||

Lady Elizabeth you are so beautiful! Do you have any suitors, human or nation?
Tumblr media
"One too many, unfortunately. I wish they would keep their flowery words to themselves. There's tens of letters weekly, and I have to answer to each one personally to deny them. My being immortal and a nation doesn't seem to make them even flinch. Courtship with other nations is a different matter... nobody is courting me, currently, which I am satisfied with. I've never had good luck with romance. I've lost interest in it by now, I prefer to just watch the humans go about their romances, and read it in their books. That's the closest I dare to get to it."
