Guess who got a revamp!!
Tw for eyes and stitches
I know I mentioned it earlier today, but here's the revamp design for Spike!!
They're lore has changed drastically too, but they're still related to Wambus, Filbo, and Triffany :3
Tw for backstory (spoilers and slight gore mention)
To put it it simply, Spike isn't a regular Grumpus. They are a grumpus on the outside (artificial fur), but on the inside majority of their organs are made up of Bugsnax.
They were created by Eos Troublegrave, the sister of Suzia Troublegrave and Olizie Troublegrave!!
(Suzia is Wambus' aunt, Olizie is Wambus' biological mother)
Im working on Eos and Olizie's designs rn so please wait on those!
But, Eos went on the same Expedition Bronica went on, as well as Clumby and Alagander (it's a hc that the went as well with Bronica so that's why)
Eos basically filled the role as Floofty did for the team. Floofty actually took huge inspo from Eos for some of their projects. When Bronica went missing.Eos started to study more about the Bugsnax. She wanted to know if they could be more... human. So after years of research, created Spike by the time around Filbo was born! Eos wasn't the nicest to Spike, despite them being a bit of a success.
Spike can shape-shift into different Grumpuses' and Bugsnax because the fact they're both.
Spike's body often fell apart when they were younger, that's why they have faint stitches all over their body. Spike was also never told about the fact they were related to Wambus or anyone, they just knew they were Bugsnax. Spike became a journalist for GNN and wanted to know more about the island. They were waiting for an opportunity to go, and when it came, and the rest is history!
Spike only went back to Snaktooth after the main events of the game because, as did happen with Wambus, they started having nightmares about the island once more and went back to find out more.
I have mentioned it previously, but in chapter 5 of my AU, Spike was the one who pushed Wambud into the Jam and that's how he drowned, but that was because Spike didn't know if it was truly Wambus or not. Spike does feel horrible about doing it, but they're growing more comfortable with everyone again ever since.
And yeah, that's it about Spike! I'm actually really happy with this design and lore, it withs more with the theme of my AU :3
