[Cyan quickly stashes the tasty treat under a glass beaker large enough to serve as a temporary cloche, hoping this will prevent sticky fingers.]

"...I think I'll save this dessert for later, after I eat a real dinner. That's- kind of you. Thank you, stranger."

[Cyan seems quite pleased as you depart from the specimen lab and greet the rest of MIRA staff.]

[The rest of MIRA's top floor crew greet you in return!]

Black: "A pleasure- welcome to MIRA's research floor."

Green: "Did- did they come out of specimen lab?"

Yellow: "Come by whenever you like!!"

wow! you have so many different specimens! they all look amazing!

how long did it take you to collect them all?

"Thank you, I try my best to keep everybody in good health. It took me about 2 years to collect as much as I have, and a good amount of my time is spent maintaining it all for my studies."

[Cyan's smile falls a little bit, as if remembering something.]

"I- don't really get to go out on collection trips, at the moment. Right now, I'm giving the oremites from Polus their health checks and diet supplements."

[Cyan lets out a harsh sigh, her air of hostility diminishing as she stares you down.]

"You're not the first to call a meeting over my condition. I don't blame you. Just don't do it again."

[She steps forward, holding something she plucked from her work table.]

"Hold Owie for a moment. He's been acting up and trying to climb out of his holding bin, and I need my hands free while I set up the scale for his weight check. You might want to put on some gloves. He bites."

Hey there Cyan, I hope you have had fun at HQ, This is Blue on Polus, wanting to check in with my coworkers.

[Cyan snatches the MIRAPad excitedly!]

"Another Polus research team!! Are you specimen collectors too? Do you have any fossil record samples from your region of the crust? Can I have digital copies? Have you found any unusual signs of unidentified life??"

[After a few seconds, Cyan comes back to herself, looking a bit sheepish before emotionally withdrawing.]

"I mean- um- nice to hear from you, ID Blue! Hope whatever you're studying with your crew is going well over there planetside! Make sure you're bringing proper field gear to avoid any- um- possible hazards. Use the buddy system and all that."

"Where did all these people come from?! Do we have a tour shuttle coming through HQ? PURPLE, DID YOU GIVE OUT MY MIRA ID?!"

[Cyan is confused by the sudden influx of messages and new people!]

I definitely plan to get to all of your asks, don't worry! This was just me being delighted by how many are in my inbox ;u; I had to draw Cyan's reaction to getting inundated with people. I'm so happy people really like my little Bean~

Meat or veggies?

"Both! Like the average Bean, I like variety in my meals, so I'll mix and match anything that tastes good together. I do have a bit of a sweet tooth, and I enjoy breads and other carbs."

"...admittedly, my cravings have shifted more towards proteins, in recent weeks. I'm trying not to let it get to my head. It's just a phenomenon that's expected to happen, in my situation. It's fine."

[Cyan balls up the muffin wrapper and tosses it into the nearby trash can before continuing on her way.]

Have you had enough to eat today? You seem a little hangry

[Cyan tries not to look too called-out by this statement. Her stomach betrays her by growling.]

"...I guess you're right... I've been avoiding going to mealtimes in the cafeteria for the past month... I should grab a snack on the way. Your hat is making me crave something bread-y."

[Cyan puts some credits into the vending machine on her way out of the cafeteria, and gets a packaged snack.]

"...much better. Thanks for the reminder. Maybe I should actually try to show up for dinner, today."

I HIT THE EMERGENCY MEETING BUTTON, CYAN'S AN IMPOSTER!

"We know, Grey."

[Red turns to head back to med bay. Yellow seems irritated and is shaking their head. Green comforts his child while Purple chuckles to themselves.]

[As Cyan departs the emergency meeting without a word, Black rounds the table to address you.]

"Look, it's my fault for not giving you the full debriefing immediately upon your arrival from MIRA Training Academy. This is an unusual circumstance, and not really something that exists on paperwork. Keep it on the down-low for now, okay?"

What's your favorite thing to Science?

[Cyan mulls this over for a few seconds.]

"Hmmm. It's tricky to choose a favorite. But my answer in the moment would have to be anything undiscovered, animals moreso than plants! Every scientist dreams of finding their White Whale. A once-extinct relative of modern animals, like the wolf ancestor of Cydogs... indexing unidentified creature eggs... The holy grail of my work is to find a xenobiological cryptid. We're discovering new alien species relatively frequently in MIRA, but proving out Missing Link connections? The closest equivalent I could give to your Earth would be like finding the Loch Ness Monster. I have one in particular I'm quite set on, but proof is kind of essential- without it, you're just a quack!"

What kind of specimens do you do research on?

[Cyan is surprised to see another new face in her laboratory.]

"Oh- uhm- people are interested in my work-? Besides Captain Black and the med bay crew, I suppose. Well!"

[She turns from her work table and gestures to her current specimen display wall. She can't help the little smile of pride and quiet excitement.]

"I'm a biologist, so I adore the study of living organisms! I do have a fondness for aquatic and ignitic life, but I have a collection of a large variety of specimens, plants included. My job here at HQ is to document as much info as I can on alien organics, and find if there's any useful applications for husbandry and farming of various species!"

[Cyan sighs, turning to face Grey and leaning on the table as she sets down her pen.]

"What do you think, new guy?"

"I'm in the middle of a diagram, if you don't mind."

[A notification appears on the surface of the Glitch MIRApad, catching the attention of the Cyan member of MIRA HQ staff.]

[A new recruit has been assigned to your crew from MIRA Training Academy! Please go meet with them at your earliest convenience. Staff have assembled for the reception at the ship docking platform.]
