Let us suppose that the "average" horse would have equal proportions of all these parts. The degree to which each part in this poll deviates from the "average" size (20% of total) will determine how large or small that part of our horse will be (i.e a horse with only 10% in Legs will have legs half the size of the average horse).
I will draw a picture of the horse we make!

we really need to be able to separate "demon as species" and "demon as political affiliation" in good omens, because that is at the core of why so many people (including the characters in the show, especially aziraphale) are reluctant to acknowledge crowley as a true demon.
demon means BOTH "an angel who has fallen from heaven, has an animal aspect, and is weak to holy water and resistant to hellfire" and "an employee of hell who is loyal to satan." there is one word for both of these concepts. crowley fits one, but not the other. it's why he's simultaneously a "former demon" by his own words and also incredibly resistant to the idea that he is anything else.
not working for hell doesn't mean he's not really a demon. it doesn't mean he's in any better standing with god. it doesn't mean his fall wasn't something that changed him deeply, both on a physical level and as a person. it means he is struggling to find the vocabulary to define himself, because the system is not built for someone like him. it is impossible, in the minds of every character in the show except for crowley, to be a demon without being one of "the bad guys." it's impossible to have fallen without joining team hell.
the same is also true of angels. michael refers to aziraphale as a "former angel" in the same episode that crowley refers to himself as a "former demon." I don't think aziraphale would ever use that language for himself--he's very attached to his identity as an angel, and the closest he ever gets to calling himself anything else is when he's so upset at the end of the job minisode--but just as there's no word for a demon who is not associated with hell, there's no word for an angel who has been alienated from heaven.
but these identities still mean something for both crowley and aziraphale. a huge part of crowley’s personality and his moral code is his resistance to authority and his disdain for rules and predestination. likewise, a huge part of aziraphale’s personal code is still his allegiance to some sort of “greater good,” whether that be god or just a nebulous concept of a heaven that doesn’t exist.
and in addition to the philosophical divide, there are real tangible differences between the angel crowley used to be and the demon he is now. the distinction between “angel” and “demon” is not important in that it dictates whether a celestial being can be Good or Bad, but it is important in how it functions as a descriptor of the person’s prior life experiences, their relationship with god, and their physical characteristics.

Heyy! I'm wondering if you would be able to help a fellow fan out again!
I'm a film student in my final years and one of my modules focuses on Audience and Fandom which involves doing a piece on data analysis and research of a particular fandom. As expected, it's a perfect time to nerd out about Good Omens as a community!
The goal of my research is to understand fandom consumption of fanfiction. Particularly looking at the difference between fanfiction consumers and fanfiction creators and if what is defined as popular according to what is posted on AO3 is a true reflection of what people actually want to read. This also involves looking at how fans engage with fanfiction and how popularity is defined, be it through most used tags, hits, kudos and so on!
More details are included in the survey but to clarify, all the data will be anonymised and is under strict regulations through the university to ensure proper data protection and the code of conduct is followed. I would hugely appreciate it as absolutely love this fandom and love the community and how supportive everyone in it has been so far for me in my studies (as well as my general nerdery haha!) Thankies <3
Hiya! :) Brilliant! :) Folks, pls help a fellow inefffable fan! :)

Love character arcs where two people start in the same shitty place but one of them starts toward redemption and the other spirals further and further downward. Like yessssss the hardship of choosing to become a better person in spite of who you were before and the people who want you to stay like that. yessssssss suffer and spiral and become worse in spite of the better choice you refuse to accept. yesssssssss the inherent tragedy of losing someone you once loved to the person they are now.

talking to people while holding a beverage is awesome because you don't have to know what to do with your hands and when you don't know what to do with your face you can just take a sip

Both really useful answers, thank you so much! 💙
Hello, I have a pretty specific question, don't know if you might know the answer? I've come up with a trans character in a sci-fi future story who has a permanent implant that self-generates and regulates his testosterone (so if you have any thoughts about that I'd love to hear them too). I found that there are already implants for HRT but the website I found said they're normally inserted into the fat around the stomach or butt, unlike the contraceptive implant that goes into the upper arm. The internet was a complete blank on why that one goes into the arm (other than maybe so it can be easily checked on by the patient? idk) so I was wondering if you had any idea?
I don't know that there's a particular reason why one goes in the arm vs the abdomen, except maybe that that's where they decided to test the products initially. Other than that they're both inserted into fat so absorption shouldn't be that different between the two of them.
The main difference between the testosterone and birth control implants are that the birth control implants are tiny plastic rods that slowly release hormonal birth control, while the testosterone implant is actually a few tiny pellets that slowly dissolve to deliver the hormone. The rod later has to be removed before it can be replaced, unlike the pellets that just need replaced (usually in a different spot).
Your device sounds more like the birth control implant than the testosterone pellets, so if you wanted to look that up and focus your research on that it would probably be more "realistic".
