SW: TLJ Haters = Poe Dameron (kinda?)
Hey guys! I spent a bit of time coming up with this comparison.  I hope it makes sense.  It’ might be all over the place, a little messy, maybe not even explained too well but it was on my mind so I had to put it here.
The Disney Star Wars Committee -  Leia Rian Johnson/JJ (directors) - Holdo Harsh, Negative, Racial slurs and Criticisms- The First Order All who love TLJ- The Resistance __________ Leia steps into the background (blown out of ship, comes back, in a coma)
Disney steps back
Holdo takes over (Director has creative control) The Force Awakens comes out, fans are uncertain about the direction because TFA is a re-hash of A New Hope, this trilogy could possibly ruin the future SW (Poe sees the seriousness of the situation (The First Order and Supremacy), he wants to know the plan, he's very worried about his future, the future of his friends and the Resistance)
Fans start coming up with all their Rey Parentage Theories and Snoke theories (Poe begins to make plans with Rose and Finn, he needs to do something because he can't just wait around.  He's a take-action kind of guy and impatient.  Just like the fans who need something to do for 2 years- they theorize and fill their heads with what they think is going to happen) As the Last Jedi's promotional and marketing is happening, fans go into a frenzy over hearing certain details  (This will not go the way you think it will) (Poe goes to find out what is going on, finds out, freaks out, and later told to get off the bridge) speculations spin about TLJ being bad, they begin to freak out, but fans can't do anything until they see the movie. The Last Jedi comes out, tons upon tons of fans hate it and revile it (Poe starts a mutiny) There's mayhem "Rian Johnson destroyed/raped my childhood", "If I was writing TLJ this is how it would go..." etc.  Many fans see TLJ as a failure- The canto bight part of the trilogy. Leia shows up and puts Poe out of commission (Disney is still around to make changes and put things back to rights) Leia and Holdo are together as unconscious Poe is carried onto the getaway ship.  (Disney and the directors are together, they have things under control, they just need to assure the fans once they wake up and see what's really going on) Poe wakes up and discovers that there's nothing he can do, he feels hopeless, distressed and sad (The Fans realize that there's nothing they can do about TLJ, they feel hopeless, distressed and sad about the direction of SW) Leia explains to Poe about Holdo's position and plan (The fans finally understand what is going on and agrees just like Poe that this could work)- This could possibly be the reaction of fans once Episode 9 comes out, they will finally see the whole picture and possibly come to agreement just as Poe did) Holdo stays behind to pilot the ship and eventually commits suicide to cause massive destruction to The First Order.  (The Director- Rian in this case, has decided to be there for fans who absolutely hate TLJ and his direction.  He loves SW and will face the mounting criticisms.  He will smash through them with his explanations)  This should help smooth the path for the Resistance to make it to Crait (meaning this should make moving into Episode 9 a little easier) So why didn't Holdo just tell Poe the plan?  Why doesn't Disney and the Directors tell the fans all the details of the trilogy? They don't have to.  Poe and all Hating TLJ SW Fans need to get their heads out of their cockpits and see the bigger picture. TLJ is about going in a new and fresh direction, opening up and branching out. Fans I'm not asking you to stop theorizing.  I just wish all the haters would open up their eyes and see just like how Poe saw at the end of the movie, what is important.  After losing so much (your theories and speculations, fanciful expectations i.e. Rey's parentage, Snoke, Luke Skywalker as a badass Jedi master fighting to the death in the end), it's about salvaging what is left (Lightsaber duels, space battles, cute creatures, The intricacies of the Force etc) and building from the remnants (Finding new and exciting ways to use what is left to create even more exciting SW stories) I love Poe but in TFA he didn't have a character arc.  In TLJ he had a massive character arc.  He made horrible, costly mistakes but by the end he learned what Leia wanted him to learn and became a Leader.  He changed his thinking in the end. It's time for the haters to change their thinking and develop open-mindedness.  They don't want Luke to develop as a character, he needs to be the same forever.  He can't have one human moment of weakness, make a big mistake that results in the birth of Kylo Ren.  I mean I'm sure no one in the world has ever done something so bad, regretted it, but couldn't change the result. They wanted Luke to be there IN THE FLESH to fight Kylo Ren.  Sadly they can't see just how deep the fact that Luke was a projection... synonymous to a ghost of Kylo's past and how it's meant to explain more about Kylo's deepest issue than some big bad battle.  Kylo couldn't see passed the ghost of his past, even though he was trying to get Rey to get over her past (very hypocritical of him).  His future (Rey) was behind them, focused on her future- helping the Resistance escape (which proves she was a better leader than he was because I'm certain she could sense what he was doing, but she compartmentalized her problems, prioritized and put her friends first, then when the fight is over her attention falls back to him).  But he was so consumed with rage about his past that by the time he realized what was happening, the Resistance had slipped out of his clutches and he'd failed. I can go on and on but I'll stop here.  Point is, TLJ didn't ruin, rape or destroy your childhood, so stop it.  TLJ is just the 2nd part of a trilogy and the 8th installment in a massive saga.  When episode 9 rolls around I feel haters will look back at TLJ and appreciate the choices that were made. If you want SW to remain the same (wait you didn't want that because when you were given The Same with TFA you had a problem), So I guess all haters need to become The Force and go in search of their perfect balance.  The Force has obviously been trying to find this balance for thousands of years, so good luck to all the haters out there because If you're anything like the Force and trying to find a perfectly balanced SW movie, you'll need a lifetime to search.
