There is only so much one person can take before the mind starts shutting down. I have been struggling for years and coping with the physical and mental abuse of my dad that no one seems to want to see and help, as well as the struggle of growing up on my own with no one to speak to for guidance. I've stopped talking about this with people, and I've just gone on shutting myself in to my own life. I have little to no close friends anymore. I barely function, I feed my rabbits in the morning and I make it to work and I come home without the drive or ability to make myself food or do anything productive. I don't care much about anyone or anything, and I get the sense that people don't really care about me which is fine. I know I need help, I'm just to weak to do anything about it anymore.

Mini Homes for the Homeless
My friend Peter (pictured above) and a group of misfits from the local community have gotten together to build portable miniature homes to give out free of charge to our friends and neighbors living on the streets of Tacoma, Washington.
These mini homes are insulated, and are built simply but will protect someone from the rain and cold. They measure 7 feet by 3.5 feet and only weigh 35 pounds, so are easily transported. When we give them out they also include an emergency survival blanket, a mat, and an off-grid heating system.
We both work and live with the local homeless population, so these homes (which are made possible only by donations and volunteers) are going to people that we know and see on a regular basis.
In the future we hope for land so we can build a community of mini homes and do projects regarding solar energy, rainwater collection and composting toilets.
The need is great, and at the time of writing this only 2 have been made. What we need is building materials such as 2x4s, plywood, greenhouse plastic, 1 inch PVC piping, and foam insulation. If you are interested in joining this misfit team by helping in any way, please send me a message and I can give you more information.
If not, please signal boost! Our friends on the street are in the rain right now as I write this, and just reblogging can help.

All mothers grieve.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The grief-stricken macaque mother spent days carrying around her dead newborn at Tangkoko Nature Reserve and National Park in Sulawesi, Indonesia. She could be seen tenderly cradling her baby. She even fended off a male macaque who tried to reach out and touch it. Occasionally she would actually hug him, groom him slowly then return to cradling him between her legs. (Source)

"Just a few days before July 4, Farm Sanctuary’s Emergency Rescue Team arrived at a factory pig farm where we were alerted to the flagrant abuse of a pregnant breeding sow. As she was moved from a cramped gestation crate to an equally cramped farrowing crate to give birth, a worker brutally kicked and beat her and then ran an electrified cattle prod over the length of her body as she screamed in pain. The assault ended only when the sow collapsed, at which point she was dragged into the crate by her ears. Then, a mere eight hours after she arrived at our New York Shelter, the sow gave birth to 16 premature piglets. The premature labor was, no doubt, a result of her extreme stress." -- Farmsanctuary.org I took this picture of Julia three months ago with two of her children, Linus and Diane, behind her. Her ear notch a symbol of the brutal past she once lived. And yet you would never know it, because she will love you automatically-- she will run to you and wonder if you have any special treats for her, say her name and she will respond with humming grunts and grumbles.  She is such an amazing individual... and an ambassador for the millions of pigs slaughtered every year.

hoooooly mother of fuck. you guys. i just tried field roast’s new vegan chao cheese, the ‘creamy original’ flavor, and it is fucking amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing. i used to eat american cheese on my subway sandwiches all the time and it was my favorite, and this cheese tastes just fucking like it. tbh it has a bit of an after taste, im thinking its the tofu. but its not bad and i doubt itd be noticeable on a sandwich or something, or even melted. ( ive noticed vegan cheeses are 9/10 times way better melted) but i literally just ate like 5 slices straight from the package. its definitely my favorite. so if youre like me and still miss dairy cheese, this stuff is a fucking great alternative.
