Anime Review #3: Dr.Stone Season 1 ☢
Tumblr media
I know you’re all as excited about the second season coming soon as I am! So in light of the next season, I’m reviewing the first season!
📺 Anime: Dr.Stone
📘 Synopsis: Ishigami Senku is a high schooler with an insane amount of science knowledge. He has a meathead of a friend, Taiju, and his friends crush, Yuzuriha. On a certain day, all of humanity came to a sudden stop. Why? All humans and sparrows were turned to stone. Roughly 3,700 years later, Senku awakes and is determined to rescue humanity from this stone world.
💭 My Thoughts: This season was exhilarating. They made it fun to just watch some characters playing around and experimenting with minerals and fire, and even taught me a few things along the way (albeit it probably isn’t 100% accurate but hey, what do I know?). It had moments where I was laughing so hard I was crying, and other times it made my heart all warm and fuzzy. I also cried a lot.
There’s a few characters I didn’t come to like, and some characters I hated and ended up liking them at the end of the season. Science really is a thing of wonder.
I’m really impressed by the art work in this one. The animations are fluid, and it’s easy on the eyes. The faces for most of the people are kinda like... 👁👄👁 But other than that, I absolutely love the art style.
💃 My Favorite Characters: Senku, for sure. I also like Gen a lot, he’s a really fun character. He can either be extremely easy to read or incredibly hard to read. Most of the characters have a detailed personality, which makes it really fun to watch.
🍜 What to bring coming into this anime: Ramen. This shows uses your brain power so you will definitely need food to replenish that. And it has a few ramen scenes so then you want ramen. 🎉A few fun facts I found out: (As spoiler free as I can make it) ⌑ Senku’s last name, Ishigami, essentially translates to Stone God. (I found the ‘god’ part from the wiki, but ‘ishi’ literally means stone) ⌑ In the second OP, you can see Gen on the TV next to Senku at the science lab equation part ⌑ The reason you see Senku looking at the stars a few times in the first half of the season is because of Byakuya.
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 stars, no compromising on this one. I would definitely re-watch this again!

Anime Review #2: The Misfit of Demon King Academy ⚔
Tumblr media
📺 Anime: The Misfit of Demon King Academy; The Misfit of Demon King Academy: History's Strongest Demon King Reincarnates and Goes to School with His Descendants
📘 Synopsis: So basically it’s about the demon king being resurrected after 2000 years. He sacrificed himself 2000 years ago to bring peace to both the human and demon race. After 2000 years, apparently his name and history has been changed by an unknown entity.
💭 My Thoughts: You want my honest thoughts? Okay. This anime was absolutely insane, but I loved every second of it. From the somewhat bad yet emotional singing, to Anos (the MC) being OVERLY OP. I’m not kidding. This dude can lift a giant castle with a single hand. And throw it thousands of yards with the single flick of his wrist. Of course since it’s like an isekai, he gets his mini harem in there. But it doesn’t really have any fanservice. It was actually decent. He wasn’t the only male lead in the anime either. It was honestly a really nice watch. Would I watch it again? Absolutely. Also I’d like to mention I loved the two times Anos sang the OP song. I dunno how many of you even noticed that. It was marvelous.
💃 My Favorite Characters: Let’s be real here. Everyone loves Anos. He’s attractive, overly confident in himself, and has the powers to actually give his words power. Literally. I also really liked Lay. Honestly? I think I liked mostly all the characters. Except... y’know, Mrs.Emilia, the two demon brothers at the start, etc..
🍜 What to bring coming into this anime: Some sort of previous isekai knowledge and definitely watched other isekai’s. You’ll come to appreciate how overly OP Anos is, and it makes the show like over 9000 times better.
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 stars. I’d definitely re-watch it again. I absolutely loved this anime. It was hilarious, cheesy at times, and had the perfect amount of action. It had a nice pace to it as well. It was like the perfect isekai anime I could’ve asked for. Yet it leaves you wanting more from it.

Anime Review: March comes in like a lion 🦁
Tumblr media
📺 Anime: March comes in like a lion; Sangatsu no Raion
📘 Synopsis: In a nutshell, this is a story about a 17-year-old boy named Rei Kiriyama. He’s a professional shogi player, and is known as a middle school prodigy. He meets a very interesting family, and one that may change his outlook on life.
💭 My Thoughts: It’s kind of hard to really emphasize how much I enjoyed this anime. Each and every character has a backstory, making it hard to dislike even the most terrible people in this (AKA Gotou, but I still don’t like him). Just a warning, I have no idea if it was just me but there’s like 3 (?) old guys in this show that almost look identical and IT WAS REALLY HARD AT THE END OF SEASON 2. But honestly, this was an absolute rollercoaster. It definitely has its slower episodes, but it has so many good plots and paced it all very well. It made me cry on so many episodes, just for the fact that I could relate with almost all of the characters. The animation in the show is breathtaking, and very fluid. It made it all the more compelling to watch! I haven’t read the manga, but I’m probably going to because I want to read more into this wonderful world.
The good news is: You don’t have to even know what shogi is to watch this show. I had no idea what it was and I absolutely loved it. All I can compare it to is basically a more complex version of chess. I find it amazing that this story doesn’t only focus on shogi; it also focuses on the characters, and day-to-day struggles.
💃 My Favorite Characters: Personally, I like Rei and Hina the most. I can relate to the both of them very well, and their backstories and character development is amazingly done. Hina is a champ, her resolve to stand her ground gave me chills. I have mad respect for most of the teachers in this anime. We all know the one teacher no one likes.
🍜 What to bring coming into this anime: Tissues. Water. Something warm to drink and something to snack on because this show makes you REALLY hungry. You’re gonna cry a lot too.
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 stars. I’d watch this until the day I die.
