I AM BACK, ALL!

I’VE BEEN AWAY..

My apologies for my absence, friends! I had a fracture in my arm that made it VERY difficult to type. However, I was able to get a cast for it and it is much less painful to type! Expect me back on schedule soon!

Today's silly friend is Cool King Claw

Created by David Thomas, Claw was part of the Jazzin Jungle Jammers (My man sure loved alliteration). Now, truthfully, I cannot find much about this band at all. However, this specific animatronic has a cool and unusual feature! He can sit down in the chair behind him and stand up as he likes. Here is the only video of him I can find

Now, in researching this animatronic, there is another name I looked up which the animatronic band was first called. It is severely unfortunate and obviously not thought through as it was later changed but David Thomas' obsession with alliteration led way to.....

Still though, trying both names only led to everything in this post. Though you, friends, may find more!

Today's friendly foe is Murphy the Dragon

Murphy was created for the Disneyland Fantasmic show in the far out year of 2009. He featured as Maleficient's dragon in a fight between Mickey and her. He was named Murphy by Fan's after Murphy's Law when he did not realease until months after he was anticipated to.

As you can see here, he not only had impressive built-in pyrotechnics, but was just an all around beautiful animatronic. Check out a video of him in the show here posted by SoCal Theme Parks 360

Sadly (and ironically), as some of you may have heard, On April 22, 2023 our dear friend Murphy was spotted leaking hydraulic fluid. Just moments after, he caught ablaze in what seems to have been his last show. Because of the difficulties with his realease, the prior troubles with supports, and the total destruction of his body, many fans suspect that Murphy will not make a return. Below is an image of murphy after the fire had been extinguished

Today's fun friend is Ronald McDonald

Now, I'm sure many of you are suprised by this as it's not the easiest to find knowledge, but McDonald's has had more than one animatronic! I've had a small internal debate about doing this one as very little is known about him and he has... limited movements. He featured more than one show though. I have no idea where he was made or how many locations he was in or if he's still around somewhere BUT There is a video of one of his shows posted by Galen Fott! Take a look!

This video is from 2003, long before McDonald's redesign. As sad as it is to say, This animatronic may be extinct.

Today's robotic friend is Crusty the Cat

It's a special edition because today is his 🎉birthday🎉!! He debuted on this day, May 17, 1977. Unfortunately he didn't stick around for long, as he was quickly replaced by Mr. Munch. This makes him the first Chuck E. Cheese animatronic to be retired. Let's see the guy in action!

Believe it or not, despite his short lived run and limited amount of animatronics made, he's survived till modern day with at least one Crusty in the hands of a collector. In rather good condition too! Crazy to think that such an obscure and limited animatronic made it till now.

Klackles Orchard Animatronics

There was a place near where i grew up called Klackles, which had an apple orchard and pumpkin patch and you could do a bunch of things there in the fall. They also had these animatronics kind of near the entrance, who from what I can tell/remember just welcomed you. I can’t remember if they had names besides the one mentioned in the video (Dennis?). The last time I saw them was in 2019 and they didn’t work (the video is from 2017).

According to the site they got auctioned on they were made by Characters Unlimited, and there was also a Characters Unlimited animatronic farmer (last photo) that I don’t remember ever seeing move.

When the place closed the animatronics were sold in the auction so I don’t know where they are now or what happened to them.

Today's metal friend is Elsie the Borden Cow

Elsie waa created by Sally Dark Rides to promote Borden products! She was at grocery stores, country fairs, school events, and more!

She actually came with a barn display. This was so that you could have a space for somebody to operate her live! Kinda cool to be able to interact with her, huh? She could also run on showtapes though so an operator wasn't always needed.

Catch a gif of her moving around! Most of the images here are actually from either the official Sally Dark Rides site or a now defunct Ebay listing! Pretty cool to think there's still one floating around out there, although I have no clue where.

Today's mechanic friend is Barney Bear

Barney Bear was created by Advanced Animatronics. He was part of the band Circus World Jamboree at Circus World Pizza. He played a single marching band snare drum on a stand. As far as I know, only 8 Circus World Jamboree sets were created. I'm unsure of how many complete sets are still around.

An Introduction

Hiya, friends and foes! Welcome to animatronictism! A tumblr dedicated to animatronics, brought to you by my autism!

I will post animatronic of the day and answer any questions that come up as well as share my love for animatronics! I've known many animatronic accounts to disappear like most of the beloved bands, so I hope to kick up some dirt around here!

Little things to know

As stated previously, I am autistic with all the toppings so keep that in mind while speaking to me

I am a minor with a job so posting may become infrequent at times

As I am just one person with little to no animatronics where I live, I may get things wrong, please (kindly) correct me

I have trouble reading and writing so I may make typos in my posts! I often reread them because of this so they will get fixed eventually.
