Pairing: Javier Peña x Steve Murphy FBI AU.
Summary: The knowledge that imminently there would be one case in their careers that would be so hard to close, it would make them question every decision they had ever made, crawled inside their bodies and settled deep inside their brains. And the case of the West Coast Teens seemed to be quickly turning into that case for both of them.

“A what?” the director asked, frowning at them.
Steve looked at his side and found Javier’s face sternly looking into the eyes of their boss.
“A cult.” Javier said to the man sitting in front of them, the ebony desk separating them both from their boss.
“Like the Greg Mason one?” the older man crossed his arms over his chest, Javier sniffed, somehow uncomfortable by the way his boss’s arms hardened under the sleeves of his suit jacket. “that… Virtue Healers bullshit?”
“Exactly…” Steve let out, shifting on the leather chair he was sitting on. Javier spun his head at him and Steve cleared his throat “well… sort of.”
“Not murderous,” Javier let out, “as far as we know, director Crosby.” he clarified, noticing his boss relaxing visibly.
“How did you know it was the doings of a cult, then?” Crosby asked. Looking at both of them, Steve shoved his hand inside his jacket and pulled out a set of polaroid pictures, and freshly developed photographs, leaving them on display on the desk’s surface.
