a cross section of my mind:
i have class in 13 minutes, and i should probably get a bottle of water for it. i'm feeling a headache- one that might be caused by the preemptive weariness of my chemistry class. i have a late assignment that i need to email to man that despises late assignments. i have a large sweater on that i resent simply for accompanying me in the face of the preemptive weariness. my nails are short, but they're long enough to be gliding on the keys.
i've done maybe 2 and a half labs today. i've eaten 97% of a chipotle burrito, though there is nothing scientific about that estimation.
i'm thinking about apartments and the shortlists in my email. and one stranger i texted from craigslist for the listing that was $500 below market price who is insisting i venmo them $70 before getting more information about the listing or a potential tour.
there are currently two people trying to scam me. or fraud me. (can one be frauded?) one is aforementioned. i almost cannot blame the second because i am the one that lost the credit card, and you cannot blame somebody for using a seemingly endless stream of money that falls into their lap.
i should probably leave right now if i am to get a water before class. idk.
i've been thinking a lot about music lately. and music taste. and how i believe adam melchor has an immaculate music taste. i don't really know how to define a music taste. is it not a deeply personal thing? based on a perfect, hidden, everchanging proportion of public perception and personal life experiences? i am trying to expand my music taste, but i can get twisted into bouts of existential hesitation in the process. do i actually like this song or do i like the way it looks on my playlist? is this a good song, or is it the perfect mix of underground and vaguely mainstream? how can i connect with music when i am drained and apathetic and no longer fifteen? is this music subconsciously shaping the person i am in subtle ways that snowball into an onslaught of irreversible damage?
four minutes late to class. i am going to listen to the playlist anyways. i will ignore the dread and the headache and maybe i'll get some water.

status update: a wednesday afternoon
i am too too busy and so bored.
there are obvious things to note about my being at the moment. my age, school year, address, social security number, years since i've posted on tumblr... etc
i will forgo the obvious. i may even forgo the mundane. (the mundane being little facts and observations that increase in nostalgia by a degree of magnitude each year. i love reading about the song that was stuck in my head that one week of junior year. it's all in my notion. but i don't like writing in my notion anymore. i can't call it an honest to god void, for i know the readers too deeply.) (the reader being me- i am the one and only reader of my notion posts). the notion critics (me) are too harsh, their expectations too great.
while i said i would forgo the obvious, i must say that i enjoy the tumblr void. a place to write without the many many eyes of my past selves.

i love going back to the beginning of a piece of media with the full weight of knowing how it ends. you see characters get introduced and it’s literally like

I actually don't recall ever seeing a positivity post for ppl w ongoing amnesia caused by trauma disorders. I'm not talking just repressed childhood memories, I mean perpetual long-term memory loss. I mean continuing to forget non-traumatic things that happened or ppl you knew a few years or even months ago. I mean struggling to retain any information you're learning if you don't constantly go over the same material over and over again, and losing it all once you stop repeating it
If you have amnesia like me, you matter. We navigate the world a bit differently but that's okay. Just bc our brains are broken doesn't mean we can't live happy and fulfilling lives. Be patient w yourself when learning new things. Surround yourself w compassionate ppl who love to tell you stories abt past exploits you may have forgotten. Also, hey, who else gets to watch a movie for the first time every time? Above all be kind to yourself.
