Task 001
01. What brought you to New York? Why this city?
As cliché as it might sound, a fresh start. I wanted to experience living in a new city. My whole life has been spend in San Francisco so making this big move was thrilling.  I guess New York was the place that received me with open arms, as soon as there was a position opening at the hospital I took it.  Also New York because it was the farthest place from California, who would want to keep bumping into their own ex-husband everywhere they went.
02. What is one thing you hope to accomplish?
If there was something I wish to accomplish was to settle down and try to enjoy life.  I have always been so busy whether is was school or work so I believe I haven’t been able to fully experience life. Settling down and having a family can always wait but those are two things I want to accomplish.
03. Explain a little about your occupation and why you chose it. Does it make you happy? Is it just something to pay the bills?
I’m a Neurosurgeon at the New York Presbyterian, there are many factors that made me pursue such a career. For one I like helping others I wanted to be able to make a difference in someone’s life whether it be small or big. It makes me happy to known that I was able to help and care for a patient. Also since I was young my parents pushed for me to become a doctor, especially my mother, she saw the career as a form for me to make a living. In the end I enjoy what I do so thank you mom!
04. Do you have any pets? If so, what kinds? If not, do you want any? Why or why not?
Yes, I have an adorable corgi puppy named poppy. Since it’s still a puppy there is a lot of training to do. She was given to me as a gift from my best friend back in California, after her dog has puppies. I also have a Maine coon cat , lily, but my mother grew too attached to her and now lives with her.
05. What is one thing you want to see in the city?
I don’t know if this will count but the one thing I’m most excited about is New Years celebration. I have always wanted to visit New York during that time and be able to experience it. Besides that I guess it would be to experience New York City as a tourist, I want to know the history and present about the city.
06. If you could tell someone from your past anything you wanted, what would it be and why?
Someone from my past? I would tell my grandfather. I would let me know that all his teachings and love did make a difference in my life. It would also be nice to tell him how much I miss him and how much I love him. He sacrificed so much for his family and it is thanks to him that we are who we are now.
07. How does your secret affect you today?
My secret.. well it could be the end of my career. It could end everything I have worked so hard to achieve and I don’t think I am ready for that. It would have been better if I had left that part behind but no matter what I do I will always follow me. One mistake can change your life forever.
08. What is the one thing you could never live without?
Just one thing? Oh gosh I guess it would be music. I love music, it doesn’t matter from where, I enjoy listening to different type of music. It’s like having my own personal soundtrack to my life. If I’m sad I will listen to certain song and there are a few song that will always bring back memories, like when I had my first kiss.
09. What is your living situation in New York like?
I currently live alone in a three bedroom apartment. I wouldn’t mind having a roommate but I just moved in so I think settling down in the city is the best right now. I was very lucky to find the perfect apartment in the Bronx, it isn’t too small but also not to big that make me feel so lonely. Also I get to decorate it all by myself. My first apartment my mother did everything for me, she was afraid I wasn’t ready to move out! I was 23 years old and fresh out of university.
10. Tell us about a favorite memory.
The memory that I am most fond of it when I was 10 years old and my whole family and I went to Paris. My grandfather is from Paris, born and raised there, so it was the first time back with his family. There were many places he wanted to show us and many family members that I had never met. I remember butchering the little French I knew at that time and also the amazing food.  We also took the train to many other places such as Prague.
