"Which would you rather meet in a forest, a bear or a man?"
I've seen a lot of men complaining about this. One of the things they talk about is how a woman wouldn't come out alive if she met a bear in a forest (in an hypothetical situation). and every time I ask myself, do they really think that's all a woman would be afraid of if she met a man, *alone in a forest. It's not death we're afraid of. Believe me, I'd rather a bear ate my flesh and organs, than be alone with a man in that situation.

Hi, my name is Amora and we're here for another NERD TALK p.2
Today I want to talk about tlou vaccines.
I've seen some people commenting on them and wondering if they would work and today I want to give my opinion.
In my opinion, the vaccine could even be produced, but I find it difficult to make it work.
In the story of both games we can see totally different lives in that universe. There are new religions, new thoughts and obviously new people. And I don't think most of them would want to be what they were before (especially committed criminals). Besides, I don't think it would be very effective, because the infected almost never bite through the skin, they mostly destroy their victims or bite in fatal places. On another subject, I don't think Ellie is the only one immune. For one simple reason, no one is going to risk it to see if they're immune or not. What happened to ellie was a childish fatality. And if she hadn't gone out with Riley, she would probably never have found out that she was immune (probably). These people probably wouldn't want to take this vaccine out of fear, or because of the new culture they're in. Or they would cause her destruction in a human way (selfish people, cruel people written too realistically).
This is just my opinion, do you agree? If not, speak your mind here.
I'M NOT ANTI-VACCINE 馃え

Nerd talk (馃あ馃ぎ) p.1
Male gaze on Ellie (and other female characters)
I want to talk about how the character is sexualized by men who call themselves "fans" of tlou. And how I would cut off my own hand to prove that I'm sure it's only men who make these disgusting montages. How do I know that? Because all the women who like Ellie (think she's a pretty character, whatever) like her the way she is in the game. Dirty with blood, telling men to fuck off and being our beloved angry lesbian. That said, you can see the difference in the way men look at her and how they'd like to see her, they change her body, her face. Just to make her look "feminine" (in a totally disgusting way). And they also mainly use images of a pre-teen Ellie (14 years old) in sexual images. The point is this: men don't see a female character as something strong, capable, with an interesting story. They see them as something they can masturbate to and be weird about. And that's why when a female character isn't created in a sexualized way, they get so angry. Because, for them, that's all women in stories, films and games are good for, to be seen as something only sexual. Anyway, I've written a lot and I haven't even got to the point of heteronormativity and homophobic people.
*I know that not all men think like that and are disgusting like that. But unfortunately in the gaming universe, they are the majority 馃
(Yes, my English must be shit, pay for a language course if you don't like it. Bye 馃拫)

it's always "support palestine" until your favorite celebrities are zionists. it's funny to me how most people choose to take the side of a parasocial relationship over supporting the PERMANENT ceasefire of a genocide that has killed over 25,000 people. how can you look at the news of the death and destruction of all of these innocent people and their homes and choose to take the side that PUBLICLY FILMS themselves murdering and torturing said innocent people? CLEARLY some of you don't have your priorities in check. it's actually fucking insane.

Tumblr media
Gaza's women are just like any other women: they are wives, lovers, partners and feminine beings with desires, interests, drives and needs. The mocking of their lingerie by dozens of IDF soldiers isn't just a depraved and childish act; it's indicative of a dehumanization trend in which Palestinian women are viewed as entirely alien and otherized - that the presence of lingerie in their bedroom drawers is so shockingly surprising & unexpected, it is worth playing with and showing off as battlefield souvenir. I remember vividly how widespread lingerie stores were throughout Gaza City and how they were such a casual thing. In fact, I remember numerous instances of seemingly religious men with beards and the Quran playing in the background having or operating underwear and lingerie stores and stands, with their wives or female salesladies even helping them with customers.
These images by IDF troops will have long lasting consequences and will undermine de-escalation and de-radicalization efforts, particularly in a conservative society that views female-related spaces, items and topics as particularly sensitive and private/sacred. This isn't about worn out soldiers blowing off steam during battle; it is a sick lack of discipline & lackluster standards & operational security protocols. These images are deeply disrespectful and offensive and further alienate a civilian population that is paying the price for circumstances over which it has no control.

Zionism in TLOU2
I just was talking to my friend about this and I'm sure plenty of people have explained it already but it's just so insane to me that the Seraphites are really meant to represent Palestinians IRL and Neil just thought "Yup, people will believe this".
Before I knew anything about the conflict, when I was playing the game I was just like "Well duh, anyone would be ready to fight tooth and nail against a group that broke a peace treaty and started gutting/hanging their people" but when I realized what it was supposed to represent I just found it a bit funny? Not funny "haha" but funny weird in the way that he tried to make it so that the actions of Israel (the WLF) are justified through his inaccurate, racist, and Islamophobic, representation of Palestinians (Seraphites). And honestly, even the WLF's actions against the Seraphites are still very much not excused in the fictional context of the game, because there is never a reason to gun down children.
There's so much more I could rant about on this topic, but for now, I will just say: Don't buy anything from Naughty Dog. Don't watch the show, and if you must for some reason - become a pirate. Neil Drunkman has donated the money he makes from these games to Israel's genocide before. The strike may end on the 25th but do not stop talking about Palestine. Pay attention so that you are aware of when the next strike takes place. Don't forget, don't ignore.
Also, let this be a reminder that while you may enjoy certain media, and while that's fine, you have to be critical of the media you consume to be sure that you aren't getting caught up in propaganda.
WAYS YOU CAN HELP!!!!
