Not What You’d Expect (Felix x reader) pt 10

Pt 9

A/N: you guys I am hitting a wall I need to wrap up this series. I don’t think this should go past like three more part max, but god I have so many ideas I want for the character. What do I do???? Also sorry if these are getting long again, never know when to stop 😬

A/N: I finally put Jane in, she will have more growth later, hopefully again I ramble too much in these I feel like. Thank you guys for sticking it out and reading these through, I cry everytime.

Felix

“WHAT?!?! How could you let her do that?!?”

“Felix, y/n asked for the twins. I didn’t know she was going to do that. Caius just said not you, dem, or Santiago.”

Heidi had walked with the three guys after the tour, to let Felix know what his mate was doing.

“Why did she do that? Those two hate humans more than anyone I know.”

“You know y/n, she doesn’t seem to care about others opinions on people. She likes to make that assessment herself. Do I need to remind you about Corin?”

Demetri had apparently not been filled in on everything, “what happened with Corin? Is she cross Felix is actually paying attention to someone when he won’t mind her?”

“Pretty much. She was really cold towards y/n.”

“Wait. Huh?” Felix had had no idea, “Is Corin still on that?”

“Well, she wants a mate that’s in the guard, preferably either you or dem because she’s tired of third wheeling Chelsea and invisaboy.”

“It doesn’t give her a reason to be rude to y/n, especially since she will most likely be in the guard with us.” Demetri kept going, “it also doesn’t explain why she wants me or Felix to be her mate.”

“I think it’s a power thing.”

Felix couldn’t care less about Corin at the moment, he was too worried about how the twins would treat y/n. “That doesn’t matter, what twin is going to be with her?”

Santiago tried to reason with Felix, “Felix relax, I would put money on Alec. He has the most patience of the two but y/ns gift can probably block the twins gift anyway.”

“And if it can’t?”

“The kings wouldn’t let anything happen to her, they won’t do anything to upset them.” Santiago continued

“I’m just telling you so you don’t freak out if they are still working after you’re done with training. If anyone can handle the “magic” twins she can.”

“Magic twins?”

“She didn’t like that they are known as the witch twins so she either says twins or magic twins, or Jane and Alec but she doesn’t like witch twins. You guys have fun training!” With that Heidi left the now anxious trio, Felix was worried about y/n and Demetri and Santiago now worried how intense training was going to be.

Training could not drag on any longer. Felix took out all of his emotions on the lower guard much to Demetris amusement. Santiago decided to keep his distance and let the lower guard take the beating. The second they were done training Felix ran to y/ns room, Heidi cut him off.

“Felix! Wait!” She whisper yelled “she left my room like an hour ago she’s asleep.”

“Is she okay?”

“Obviously. I wouldn’t leave her if she wasn’t.” Heidi crossed her arms, “trust me, she said she had a really good day today anyway. She really likes Alec, apparently he was very nice. You should see her room it’s really cute, but tomorrow you guys have the day off anyway. You be with her and then we all hang out. Don’t hog the human.”

“Yes ma’am.” Felix mockingly saluted her, “so what did she do to get one of the wonder twins to be nice?”

“According to her, nothing, she just told me that she felt like the twins need a friend outside of eachother and she wanted to be that friend. She doesn’t think Jane will ever really like her though.”

“I mean Jane doesn’t like anyone. We’ve known her how long and she still looks at us like if she had the option she would ‘pain’ us away.”

“We will see, I mean if she can get Alec to feel comfortable then maybe Jane will follow.”

“I really want to check on her.”

“I know. But don’t go in there, you don’t want to be like that cullen guy. She told me he would watch Bella sleep all the time, and he was a real creep about it.”

“I wouldn’t do it anyway, I’m not risking scaring her away.”

“I don’t think you can honestly, I really REALLY think you should tell her about the mate thing. Especially after Corin.”

“Why, what did she tell you?”

“Nothing, it’s just—you need to tell her. She doesn’t like to hurt anyone’s feelings and if she thinks Corin likes you she is going to either push you away or I don’t know just be more reserved around you. Trust me, you should tell her.” Heidi ran to her room before Felix could ask anymore questions.

Y/N

Well that was one of the better nights of sleep you had. After trying to learn how to help Heidi, you retired to your room for the night. Your exhaustion washed over you and you fell asleep almost instantly. You woke up to the sound of rain. You smiled to yourself, rainy days were your favorite. Cozy sweaters, leggings and fuzzy socks it was. You put your hair in a quick side braid and did some quick makeup. You had just finished getting ready when you heard knocking at your door, the poor secretaries you thought always having to bring you food. You slid across the floor and were surprised to see Felix on the other side.

“Oh hi Felix, good morning!”

“Good morning little one, I hope you don’t mind if I brought you some food this morning.”

“Awe that was sweet of you, you didn’t have to do that. Would you like to come in, I’m not gonna lie Alec and I made this room look super cute and cozy.”

“If you don’t mind my company.”

“I love your company, how was training yesterday?”

Felix hesitated, “let’s say it seemed to drag on. We have the day off today, Heidi said we should all find something to do.”

“Really? That would be so fun, we could play board games or watch movies!”

“I’m surprised you have this much energy with weather like this. How is your arm feeling by the way”

“It’s cozy weather, it’s fun to stay in with weather like this and it’s doing better since you helped, thanks for checking on me though.”

Felix chuckled, and began glancing around your room “it does look very nice in here, the two of you did a great job.”

“Yeah Alec is great, he’s a little shy though.”

“A little, from what Heidi made it sound like he’s talked more to you in one after noon then the rest of the guard combined.”

“I don’t know about all that. I just listened to his story. He shouldn’t have had to go through all of that, I couldn’t imagine. I mean I feel like almost everyone I meet has some intense pasts but Alecs is up there.”

“I can agree with that, would you like to hang out before we see Demetri and Heidi?”

You paused, you remembered yesterday’s encounter with Corin. “I don’t know Felix, I mean I do but I think Corin kinda likes you I don’t want to make her feel any type of way.”

Felix remembered Heidis words, “I don’t feel that way about Corin. Could— could we maybe talk actually?”

“Is everything okay?” Felix looked like if could he would be sweating bullets, “do you want to sit down with me?”

Felix shook his head, he began wringing his hands “what have you been told about mates?

You internally were screaming, Heidi had been telling the truth. You looked up at Felix, it was cute seeing this fierce member of the guard look so worried about your reaction as if you could possibly feel differently. That pull you had felt all along was the mate bond. You had been worried about nothing. You were cautious with your response,

“Felix, are you trying to tell me what I think you are?”

“Yes. I understand that this a lot to take in. I wasn’t going to tell you, whether you admit it or not, I’m not a good person, maybe I used to be but the things I have to do. I didn’t want you to have to see that side of me or worse be in the guard but seeing as you definitely have a gift…..sorry little one it seems I am rambling now.”

“Why did you tell me then?”

“Ugh I don’t know, i think part of it is I don’t want you stay away because of something like Corin. But the other part is I’m just being selfish, I can’t seem to stay away.”

You got up from your bed and made your way towards Felix, you grabbed his hand. “You’re not a bad person. I’m glad you told me.”

“And your family? I mean, I thought you and Jasper…”

“Jasper? Jasper is my best friend, he’s like a brother to me, I don’t see him like that. I like you Felix, I have from like the first time I met you.”

It was Felixs turn to be shocked, “you what?”

“Well yeah it’d be hard not to, I don’t know what that pull I felt was until now.”

“I don’t…I don’t know what to do.”

“I mean we’ve only known eachother about a week but we have forever right? We don’t have to rush anything, let’s keep getting to know more about eachother and the rest should come easy.”

“You are taking this remarkably well, I’m sorry for springing this all on you so suddenly.” Felix avoided your gaze. It amazed you that someone as amazing as Felix could seem nervous around you, you were just a human. You stood on your tiptoes and kissed his cheek, you stepped back to give him space.

“We’ll figure it out felix, I’m not scare of being your mate.”

Felix had been so still, you worried you maybe pushed it too far. Before you could blink Felix was in front you, he cupped your face in his hands and pressed his lips to yours. His hands were so gentle, you could tell he was being careful for your sake. The kids was deep but his lips, oh my god his lips were soft against yours and it completely took your breath away. In fact if you didn’t have to breath you wouldn’t have broken away. You could hear your heart racing, and so could Felix.

“Whoa,” you breathed “I think that went well, what say you?”

Felix laughed, “I would agree with you little one.”

“We have time before we go hang out with Demetri and Heidi, right?”

“We can take as much time as you’d like.”

“Okay good. Come lay with me i want to keep learning more about you.”

Jane

“So we see you finally told her.” Demetri smirked as Felix and y/n walked in.

“You guys act as if I’ve been here my whole life, it’s only been a week.” Y/n laughed

“It’s been long enough beautiful!” Heidi was happy she was right about the two “so y/n, what are things you like to do when the weather is like this?”

“We could play movies or have a game night, board games and video games included.”

“What video games would we all be able to play?” Felix was excited about that one

“We could play Mario party or super smash bros so a lot of us can play at once. And obviously we have to play uno and maybe risk or monopoly you guys can pick.” Y/n looked around the room, “where’s Santiago and the twins?”

“Santiago keeps to himself I don’t think he knew he was invited and the twins won’t come.” Demetri told her

“Yeah no, you guys get Santiago out here I will ask the twins.”

“Alec may listen to you but Jane won’t come out, little one.”

“Doesn’t hurt to ask, can you show me her room?”

Luckily Jane and Alec were hanging out together playing chess, unluckily Jane did not seem pleased to see the juman knock at the door.

“What do you want?”

“I wanted to ask you and Alec to come hang out with us we are going to play a bunch of games. Maybe watch a at the end, who knows?”

“No.” She closed the door in y/ns face but she wanted to try one more time. On the other side of the room Alec tried to ease his sister into opening up without getting onto her bad side.

“Sister, she’s just asking us a question. No one ever wants us to join them.”

“I don’t like the human.”

“She’s different sistwr, I think she truly means well.”

“Then you go. Since you guys are best friends now.”

“Jane, that’s not what I’m saying.”

“Hmpf.” Jane crossed her arms and sat in another chair. “We can continue this game another day.”

Alec rolled his eyes, when Jane put her foot down there was little anyone could do to change her mind. He opened the door to find y/n still standing there

“I don’t think my sister wants join, the others probably don’t want us around.”

“I do. If you guys aren’t having fun after a bit you can always leave. I would never want you to be uncomfortable.”

“Would I still be able to join in?” Alec asked shyly

“Of course Alec, is it okay if I talk to Jane for a bit? Will she be okay with that?”

“Sister?”

“She has two minutes and then I will kick her out.”

Alec sighed and headed toward the common area with the rest of the guard. Y/n entered janes room but stayed near the door so she would intrude on her space.

“We really would like if you joined us Jane. If you wanted you could hang back until you were more comfortable.”

“I don’t want to go out there. And leave Alec alone. He’s not yours.”

“I never said he was, I just offered to be his friend.”

“You just want to steal him from me, you are already becoming Aros favorite. Isn’t that enough for you? Not everyone has to like you.”

“Whoa, I’m not trying to be Aros favorite. I came here because I didn’t want an innocent person to die. I don’t care if everyone likes me I just want to make sure you know that you are always welcome. I don’t like feeling left out, so I thought I would offer—“

“Just stop.” Jane stood up, she’d had enough. It wasn’t real. Humans couldn’t be trusted. “Stay away from me and my brother.”

Y/n steeled herself, this was not going to end up well. “Jane, I’ll leave you alone, but unless Alec tells me to I’m not going to stop being his friend.”

Pain burned throughout her body, y/n probably should have tried to not let janes gift affect her but it was too late at this point she couldn’t think of anything, she vaguely heard Felix run through the door.

“Jane ENOUGH.”

The pain left as quickly as it had come, y/n took short breaths to try and steady herself.

“I—I didnt… Why wasnt she using her gift?”

Y/n steadied herself on Felix, “I didn’t think I had to.” Felix looked furious but if that’s what Janes gift felt like, she sure as hell wasn’t about to let Felix hurt himself. The rest of the guard appeared behind them “Felix come on, I was pushing jane. I should have left when she first told me to.”

Jane looked at y/n incredulously, was she going to wait to tell aro instead? Why is a human defending her?

Y/n tugged at Felix again, “Felix we don’t want to waste the day away, this was on me I promise.”

Maybe janes gift had made y/n confused. Jane was speechless at the scene unfolding in front of her. Y/n had gained her strength back and seemed to be as happy as ever. Felix knew y/n was stretching the situation but he also knew she wouldn’t have wanted anymore issues.

“Alright little one, let’s go.”

“Yay! Did you guys figure out what game to play first?” Y/n began asking more question and leading the group away from Jane. Alec stayed behind for a moment to see his sister still trying to piece together what happened.

“That was foolish to not have used her gift before coming in here.”

“Sister, if she had thought we were a danger to her at all your gift wouldn’t have worked.”

“Why would she trust the two most dangerous vampires in the world.”

Alec just sighed “she isn’t like those humans we dealt with.”

“We will see if that changes now that she’s seen my gift in action.” Jane was still defensive. Humans were evil, they have proven that over and over again. This one was no different. Jane chanted these thought over and over in her mind, if she thought hard enough maybe it would be true, and she wouldn’t feel guilt slowly building up in her mind for the first time in who knows how long. That would mean she was wrong. This human had to be bad, she had to be.

Alec was conflicted, this was the first time in his life someone had wanted to be his friend. As a vampire people treated him respectfully because of his gift, as a human if someone was kind it was because they felt like maybe they would have good luck. At the same time it had always been him and his sister. Alec desperately craved love whether he admitted it or not in some way. Jane did too but she valued her gift and wanted people to respect her for that instead of condemn her.

“Sister, would you like me to stay? Is there anything I can do.”

Just like that janes anger returned, the human was going to try and steal Alec away and Alec didn’t care about her anymore. “No. I want to be alone.” She repeated what she had done earlier and closed the door but this time Alec was on the other side. He knew he had to give her a bit of time to calm down, it came as a bit of relief. There was also a bit of fear, would y/n and the rest of them let him join or would his sister be right and they would cast him away again. There was only one way to find out.

He entered the common room and saw Santiago had joined them.

“I told you he would come back, Alec we set up uno first we have your cards ready!” Y/n was seemingly excited, and no one seemed like they did not want Alec there. Except maybe Felix, but he could understand that. “Jane didn’t change her mind?”

“No, I think this may be a bit much for her.” He was right, she was different. Y/n wanted to be his friend.

“That’s too bad maybe next time.”

None of them knew but Jane had opened the door to her room to try and hear if her suspicions had been correct. She partly hoped they would turn Alec away and he would rejoin her. Maybe this human was different after all. She shook the thought from her head, she’s just stealing Alec and the rest of the guard away. Had to be.
