“I could think of worse curses,” Bobby says, suddenly popping up behind Buck’s back only to lean over his shoulder and steal the last donut hole. “You live in the same building, Buck. You’re going to see each other. Maybe you should embrace it and actually talk to him.”
Buck closes his eyes, just for a minute. He has the beginnings of a headache knocking at the back of his head, probably from lack of sleep, and he kind of detests that he even notices it. That it’s tripping him up a little.
“And say what, Cap?” he asks. “Hey, I’m Buck, sorry you keep meeting my one night stands?”
“Mm,” Bobby shrugs, chewing as he makes his way into the kitchen. Buck does not like the look in his eyes. “Maybe you should stop having those first.”
in which buck sleeps around for healthy reasons, and thinks about his next-door neighbor a healthy amount.
“I’m cursed,” Buck says to the loft at large, dropping a bag of donut holes on the table.
“Good morning to you too, Buck,” Hen says, ignoring him but not the treats he brought, delicately pulling the bag closer.
“What is it now?” Chimney asks, taking his feet off the table. “No, wait, let me guess. You woke up this morning with yesterday’s flavor of the day and realized you’ve already slept with them.”
“That’s disgusting, Chim,” Hen says around a bite of donut, pretending to scroll down her Instagram feed, but Buck can just about see her screen, and it’s not moving.
“Hey, am I the one sleeping with them?” Chim asks, leaning in to take the bag. Very briefly, Buck considers walking out and just—driving into the ocean. He could become one with the fish and start a new life. “No. That’d be baby Casanova over there.”
Buck sighs. “I don’t know what that means.”
Chimney raises his eyebrows at Hen. She raises hers back, slipping into one of those silent conversations they’re always having, and Buck is still fucking cursed. He doesn’t even know why he came up here, why he told them, because it’s not like they can do anything about it and he’s just bothering—
“Okay, kid,” Chim says, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand and getting none of the powdered sugar off. “What’s the curse?”
Buck bites his lip. He’s kind of lost his nerve, and it doesn’t even fucking matter, it’s not important, it’s just that—it feels important. Somehow. It feels like the kind of thing he’d tell Abby, her ear half-turned to him over dinner, chasing every smile she’d throw his way; except Abby’s gone and they’re over and Buck did, in fact, pick up a random woman at a bar last night, so.
Maybe it’s the kind of thing he’d talk about with his friends, and Hen and Chimney are starting to feel a little like friends.
He sighs again and sits down, just on the edge of the chair, puts his hands on the table.
“It’s my neighbor.”
Hen’s eyebrows fly up her forehead. “The hot neighbor?”

Everyone always talks about how much Spencer loves his mother, Diana, but the relationship just hurts when you think about it.
Here Spencer is after having an incredibly long day. He flew from Las Vegas back to Quantico, figured out an extremely hard puzzle, found out his mother was in danger - then had to admit his mom is mentally ill and that he could be too one day. His mom is rude to him about his body, letters, and over the fact she was flown there to save her life. He then failed a negotiation and a man killed himself in front of him. He was hurt by a bomb, caught on fire, and helped rescue a victim while escaping a burning house.
And then after all that, he stands in front of his mom - exhausted, charred, vulnerable - and he doesn't tell her how he was hurt or about what he did. He says how she helped save Rebecca's life and Diana doesn't even look up.
Diana doesn't give any indication that she even knows who Spencer is and she doesn't ask about the ash all over him. It's clearly nighttime and she asks if it's lunchtime. She doesn't remember that she read the books she asked him about to him.
Then Spencer, even though he is so tired, has to help his mom on the flight back across the United States, while reading to her and taking care of her while Spencer has no one taking care of him.
And this is medicated, well taken care of, Diana. If this is Diana on an alright day, on medicine - what was she like when Spencer was a child.
#OKAY THANK YOU#like i’ve seen ppl stress how good of a mother she must have been for him to turn out well despite that and to a certain extent i agree!!#she read those books to him etc. and spencer certainly doesn’t have a flawless view of mental illness (despite his empathy he reeks of#ableism. both internal and external). but also it was so much worse than most imagine too!!!#like spencer’s college timeline is confusing at the best of times but even assumjng he did undergrad in LV he still would have left home ~14#and like he speaks abt the guilt he feels. it was probably safer for him to not live at home. even tho he loved diana and she loved him!!#okay i’m done whoops#criminal minds

truth be told i didn't read ur maeve post soley bc i don't have enough brainpower atm, so idk if you mentioned this but it would have made sense if she was a guy? it would kinda explain why he was so darn secretive about it at least
i didn't mention it in that post but i've talked about it before and i'm very happy you bought it up!!
the fact that maeve wanted to hide it from spencer's team never made sense to me, especially the "i don't want you to get hurt" bit. but if maeve was actually a man, this would make a lot more sense.
when i think about maeve being a man, i imagine that spencer isn't out to the team at this point. he works for the government around many alpha males and no matter how supportive he thinks the team might be, there's always the chance that they won't accept him. if he told maeve this, the "i don't want you to get hurt" makes a lot more sense. if spencer went to his team, he'd have to explain his relationship and out himself.
even just thinking about the plot itself - person has to hide relationship from the people they love most in fear of them or their partner being hurt?? that sounds like every gay character ever.
the main thing that always sticks out to me is his conversation with blake. he refuses to use pronouns and purposely stays ambiguous, and she calls him out on it. the version i want is that blake says he's being vague, but spencer replies with "i don't want them to know about... him". imagine the power that would hold.

I’m so guilty of missing Elle out of my last post so here is why I think she was such an important character in season 1 in order to set the basis for the show and how, in my opinion, her journey represents the journey of the audience
At the beginning of the series, Elle seemed almost hopeful about the BAU and was very eager to make an impression on Gideon. She was determined and optimistic to make her mark on the team and to carve her place.
She was successful in this too and she made her mark clearly, especially with Reid and Morgan who both seemed to trust her immensely and consider her a friend quite quickly.
Despite this optimistic view on her job, she began to notice cracks and point them out to the audience, and these cracks were how law enforcement dealt with women, particularly female victims. Whilst the men on the BAU tried to sympathetic, they lacked tact and there are multiple episodes where Elle recognised this.
Despite this, she still remained positive in her involvement in the team and tried to fill in these cracks by herself as the only female field agent on the team at the time. That is until the Fisher King.
During the Fisher King, Elle realised just how flawed the team was; not only the team but the system itself.
She tried to call out for help but the only one who seemed to show up was Reid and as a 24 year old with a limited view, he wasn’t much help. She was completely alone and she realised that she was feeling the same loneliness that the victims she helped everyday was dealing with.
She tried to come back to the field, but as she watched the system continue to fail women and leave them vulnerable, she felt her own fear and took matters into her own hands, which would ultimately lead to her leaving the team as she would have no choice to.
Her story hits the audience with the fact that what they are watching is not justice being served; it is not a perfect crime show. They’re watching a team which is flawed be part of a system which is flawed and it forces the audience to view the victims in a different light as we were able to see their fear through Elle’s eyes.
The issues Elle raised also foreshadow the issues that’ll be faced in the exact season she leaves in. She raises the issue that female victims never actually get justice, and we see this in Season 2 episode 18 after she has left. She also raised the issue that the team were not there to help her when she needed it, and Reid suffers from this himself also in season 2.
At first, the audience may think of Elle as irrational however later in the season, after she has left, all of her points are proved right.
She was only there for one full season but her character was used very clearly in order to convey the flaws in the show that we are watching and we are made to realise some of the same things she does as she does. She started out with a positive view just like all of us did, but her loss of hope in the system causes the audience to question it, only for her to be proven completely right not long after she is gone.
Idk if I fully made sense there, but she was just such a perfect character
