This was the most silence between the two of you in a very long time, and it was unnerving to say the least. You sighed under your breath and tuned in on the ambience around you to try and get your mind off things. The swishing of your robes in the wind, the sound of your sandals tapping as you trailed along the dry pathway through the woods, the crickets and cicadas playing their song, and perhaps the sound of water running in the distance...

but it still wasn’t enough to get your mind off things.

Finally you’ve decided to speak up a bit in the hopes that it would shatter some of the silence and the tension between you two. “Crazy mission today heh.” You paused and mentally slapped yourself for bringing attention to the one thing that ended up causing so much discomfort between you two in the first place. “But uh! ...The weather has been cooling down since then. I can’t wait to get back and take a warm shower to relax!” You laughed nervously and he just kept walking with his vision set firmly on the path ahead. You secretly longed for the regular Hidan banter that you’re used to. You turned to look back at Kakuzu following along. Usually he led the team (your little pack) but tonight he was just trailing behind and witnessing the mess ahead of him. You glared at him and he seemed mostly indifferent to things. You wished he could read your mind right now. He would be hearing ‘Kakuzu, get up here and help me!!!’ but he simply couldn’t (nor did he want to anyway). Finally Kakuzu picked up pace and walked to get ahead of you two. “Both of you are too slow. I’ll make it back to the base much faster on my own.” With that, he left you and Hidan high as dry as he lept from tree to tree until he was out of sight completely. Now it was just the two of you...how dreadful. 

The silence did not subside now that Kakuzu was gone. If anything, the silence heightened with the tension until finally you couldn’t take it anymore. “Damn it Hidan, what is your issue tonight!? Normally you’re talking so much or arguing with Kuzu but tonight you’re silent and it’s scaring the shit out of me.” Finally he looked over at you and squinted his eyes in agitation. “See that’s part of the problem right there.” He mumbled in an annoyed tone before turning to look back ahead of him. “Wha-huh??? What are you talking about?” You questioned him, confusion riding heavy on your face. He sighed in annoyance. “Kuzu? Kuzu, really? Since when did you two get on such good terms for you to be addressing him like that huh?” You were about to reply but suddenly he stopped walking, faced you, and gripped each arm of yours in his hands firmly. “Also, why exactly did you trail his flank so much earlier today? Oh and while I’m asking you, why did he buy you breakfast this morning huh? Because if I know Kakuzu better than you, and I do, then I’d know for sure that he doesn’t buy anything for anyone like that. Are you two...are you two...are you together.” He got quiet near the end and his eyes darted around your face to search for an answer while you stayed quiet for too long (mostly due to the initial shock of his sudden interrogation) “I fucking knew it.” Hidan sighed and slowly lowered his hands. “So I guess this is it between us huh? I gave you 9 months of my best, and you throw it away by cheating on me with our partner.” 

You burst into laugher and leaned against a nearby tree for balance. “Huh?” Hidan tilted his head in confusion as you continued to pour out laughter. Finally you gathered yourself and looked him directly in the eyes. “Hidan no, we’re not together. Kakuzu and I have a system and that’s why we fit so good together half the time. First of all, I’m always picking up the small side missions whenever we go out unless you haven’t noticed that lately. Second of all, in exchange for me keeping you in line, Kakuzu buys me one food and drink item per mission. You’d know that too if you’d pay attention sometimes. Third of all, I wouldn’t cheat on you idiot. Oh and finally, he HATES it when I call him Kuzu. If you haven’t noticed I usually do it behind his back haha.” Hidan’s eyes widened for a second before he turned to look away from you, trying his hardest to mask the blush of embarrassment inching across his face. “Pshhh...so you’re really not into him then?” He turned to look back at you and watched as you got closer to him. You reached down and gently grabbed his hands before leaning to kiss his check. “Of course not. In anything, that old coot is just like an uncle to me.” 

After being reassured (and feeling that warm feeling creep into his heart) he smiled widely and leaned down [unless you’re tall] to kiss you deeply as the moonlight illuminated upon your skin. For just a little while longer than usual, you two stayed out underneath the moonlight just for tonight.

Hello, can I get a match up please? I'm a bisexual woman, I'm 170cm high. I'm curvy and I've got long brown hair with green eyes. My skin is pale and I've got dark circles. I dont sleep a lot because of anxiety and depression. I'm super introverted and I love reading and drawing. I ride horses too. -Kakuzu would enjoy your company most out of the others so this leads to him falling for you. It doesn't hurt to say your curvy appearance played a part in this either! If anything, he also kinda fell hard for your long brown hair and those piercing green eyes. Your skin didn't really play apart in it all, but he loves it all the same. Sometimes he worries that youre sick because of the pale skin and dark circles.

-Kakuzu is going to be forceful in making you get some rest! He knows you dont sleep much due to your anxiety and depression, but he's still going to try and help that.

- It's good that you're super introverted and like reading/ drawing because he can spend some peaceful time with you. He wont join you on the horse riding unless he's worried about your safety.
