One thing that stood out to me during this episode is how the camerawork was used to highlight Lucy's feeling of isolation. Particularly during the shooting in the alley and at the hospital. In these two scenes, she is seen mostly on her own, separated from everyone. And because of this, it is so easy to relate to her sense of anguish and pain. But at the same time, the camera zooms in on the team. When Lucy is in the alley, we can see how worried Angela and Nyla are. But Lucy can't. When she goes down, we can see the look of horror and fear on their faces. But Lucy can't. And then there's the perfect symbol of her radio being shot down. Her mean of communication with her team is broken, she has to rely on signs. And that's a perfect metaphor. So when Nyla compliments Lucy's ingenuity, we're the only ones who can hear it. Lucy can't. And then, there's the hospital scene where we progressively see Nolan, Bailey, Aaron and Celina showing up for Lucy. But she can't see that because she is in another room, because she has to be isolated pending IA investigation. When Grey asks Wesley how she's holding up, she can't hear that. She can only see the side glances. She is not even technically alone, there's a guard there with her in the room but he can't talk to her. We don't even know if they know each other. The way the camerawork showed the duality of this story is so important. Lucy is technically not alone and yet, you can still feel that sense of isolation. Because it looked like only Tim was there to comfort her. Making him her only lifeline at the moment. And that is going to make the next part even more heartbreaking when he disappears without telling her.

I've had ships that literally never interact in canon, not to mention ships from separate fandoms entirely. Sometimes they're the best!
okay, call me stupid, but my mind just never computed the fact that people will watch or read a piece of media and only ship the canon relationships. like, WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!??! crackships are EVERYTHING to me and it's sooo funny having a debate with someone and they're like, “well, i don't ship them because they aren't a real relationship” and it just like, yeah, that's the point!!!! i live and breathe for crackships, what do you mean you don't ship people based of one interaction????

Eliot: I stay close to protect Hardison and Parker. I suppose I’m third wheeling but if that’s what it takes to keep them safe then so be it
Hardison: Eliot is our boyfriend. We take him on dates all the time
Parker: he hasn’t figured it out yet
Hardison: I suggested we tell him
Parker: but this is more fun
Hardison: yeah it is

I hope Polin’s first kiss has the same kind of energy as Chenford’s first and second kisses

It makes me sad that Tamara’s definition of safe is just not being attacked while sleeping :(
I'm so glad Lucy came around and gave her a couch to sleep on and then, eventually, her own room.
Would love if this continued with Tamara moving in with Chenford when they get their own place, with the added bonus of Kojo sleeping at the end of her bed each night to make her feel extra safe and secure 🥰

Okay, look, I know so many brats believe that S3 is going to flop because Penelope and Colin don't have any chemistry and there not going to top the others blah blah blah
But for the love of fucking god, don't belittle the fact that one of the most popular romance series to ever debut on Streaming TV is going to have a fat girl heroine who's fatness isn't something that needs fixing and that she herself is making actual steps to better her apperance by picking out her own outfits and doing up her hair the way she likes it.
And that her male love interest actually fucking likes that she's fat and plain and actively encourages her to go for her goals????
Do you know how many years I have been in the trenches with movies and shows where the main character has to have a complete transformation for even the fucking narrative to consider her worthy of a romance???

the way i lowkey cackled when grey told tim to treat lucy like any other uc... like sir? he has NEVER treated her like any other uc, like even before they were a couple, she was never going to be another uc to him... you saw that man's face when you told him she was doing a uc op with nyla
if you want complete objectivity regarding lucy chen, tim bradford is not the guy...
(even though i love that tim was running point so he and lucy could talk and check in)

you: joel was selfish and he doomed the entire world what about the cure what about ellie’s choice in the matter
me: joel is a parent who acted like any parent in a similar situation would act — selfishly to save their child. joel may have believed a cure was possible, but we as an audience (through context clues and canon) know it was not. the doctor operating on ellie had no medical degree. the fireflies did not have the resources skill set or ability to create and distribute a cure. the fireflies took away ellie’s choice putting her on the operating table without her consent. joel did not doom the world because the world was already doomed. a cure was not a fix it all, nor would a hack job operation have created one. ellie would have died for nothing and joel, after being told he couldn’t see his daughter despite the fireflies condemning her to death, made the tough decision to save his daughter—his one and only reason to be alive

i wish “soz i didn’t do my homework, i was too busy spiraling because my favorite show released a new promo for one of my favorite types of episodes and in it my favorite characters are going undercover together as their dopplegangers but this time it’s even more special because they’re actually in a relationship this time except something may go wrong because there’s a red herring of my favorite character’s body being found and the show is on a three week hiatus so there’s a lot of unknowns and mentall i am not stable enough for this” was a valid excuse.

On the other hand, Lucy would have absolutely done this even before they got together. Despite his best efforts, she's been involving herself in his personal life since season one (stepping in on the Isabelle situation, challenging the motor pool sarge who wasn't taking their accident seriously, setting him up with a girlfriend, badgering him into extra curricular activities, etc). I could easily see the general attitude being, "Tim got moved into a position he's gonna hate, and Lucy is going to fix it because of course she is."
Is it not suspicious to Nolan, Harper, and Lopez why Lucy cares SO MUCH about Tim getting a better job?? Does Lucy really thinks she’s not being super obvious? They murder boarded jobs.

I love everyone just showing up at Nolan's (and moving in) so very much.
Tim helping Celina with her mum was so sweet
Celina this whole episode was on point
The big family stuff at Nolan’s was wonderful
Tim being so adorably happy at the end was perfect
I do just wish we knew whether everyone knew about Chenford. I’m going with they must do otherwise surely they’d be questioning Tim’s new assignment but some teasing especially from Angela wouldn’t have gone a miss, but you know she’s doing it even if we aren’t seeing it

Oh, he knew from at least the time at Lopez's wedding when Chen walked away from Grey and Harper mid conversation to go to Bradford.
So I reckon Grey has suspected there was something between Chenford since 505 when Tim told him not to tell Lucy about him needing surgery. Grey's face when he asked him that, like why would that be so important to him?? Tell my sister but don't tell Chen in the same sentence...mmhhh

Even better, those are definitely names under the different units, so they're trying to figure out the other officers they need to make change jobs (or Retire, as seen up high) in order to maneuver Tim into a better job.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In particular order:
1) Lucy enlists everyone’s help to draft an organizational chart (!!!!) of every single job Tim could have.
2) No, seriously, she’s got a hierarchy of sticky notes. (Hello IA, Homicide, Motors, Metro, Airship, and Vice, can I interest you in hiring Tim Bradford?)
3) Tim shows up and Nolan’s on distraction duty as everyone rushes to take down all of said sticky notes before he can notice them.
4) Act casual, act normal. Nothing to see here, hi Tim!
