some spring deep cleaning ideas for your apartment 🤍
today i’m focusing on deep cleaning my apartment because i completely forgot spring started on monday lol. my advice: always give your space a good deep clean at least 2-4x a month (or more, who cares) and always deep clean every season.
clean blinds
clean windows
sweep balconies
clean mirrors
organize under the sink (kitchen + bathroom)
clean inside drawers
move furniture and sweep/vacuum/mop underneath
strip wash your pillows
repaint over scratched walls + patch up holes
organize closet
mop inside the closet
laundry + fold and put away
change ac filter
change water filter (refrigerator)
pest control (i have it included in my rent but because i live in a semi-tropical environment, i do have crawlies come in sometimes so i buy my own pest control and make sure i place it inside and outside)
deep clean litter box
disinfect doorknobs and handles
clean makeup brushes
clean garbage cans and trash cans
wash bedding
dust ceiling fans
clean base of plant pots
wash/clean your sneakers
put your backpack in the laundry
throw away expired food
organize important papers
get rid of wasp nests outside
dishes
oven cleaning
clean garbage disposal
new air fresheners
fresh air from keeping windows open (turn cleaning fans on so the air can circulate)
wipe off computer, phone, tablet, and tv screens
scrub toilets and bathtubs/showers
put things back where they belong
spray and wipe off washer and dryer
sweep floors, then vacuum (i have hardwood all over my apartment and i still vacuum because it’s easier), then i mop (pine sol is amazing— i love the scent).
put in maintenance requests if needed
clean dryer vents
wash sofa cushions and pillow cases (even on throw pillows)
wash mildew off shower liner
get hair unclogged from drain
clean out your car
refill anything like pens, water bottles, etc.
steam clean carpets
have a professional come and clean rugs
clean welcome mat
replace lightbulbs if needed
toss, donate, and keep clothes in your closet and dressers
happy spring

I think it’s important to just take a second and stop listening to the podcasts, reading the books, consuming content, and sit with yourself and God. If you’re  living through someone else’s experience too much, you’ll forget to live in your own. We are already living in others experiences, maybe even more than our own.

Outer Order Contributes To Inner Calm
Your living space is a direct reflection of what's going on internally. It's absolutely vital that you keep your space clean and tidy to alleviate any mental stress associated with living in clutter.
Here are my tips to ensure a clean and tidy home:
Put things where they are meant to go. If you give yourself a manicure and bring out all of your polishes and tools, put them back where they belong once you're finished. Most of the clutter in a home is a result of not putting things back where they belong after using them. Once you figure out where things belong, you can focus on the true clutter in your home.
Organize, Organize, Organize! I suggest buying bins for the organization of your smaller things, such as medicine, lotions, and makeup. Having things located in bins in a space like a bathroom closet will categorize your items and it'll be easier to know where things are and how much of the item you actually have. When you have items all clustered in a space, it's hard to see what you actually have and what you're in need of.
Minimalism is Key. When it comes to design and decoration, try to keep things to a minimum. I'm not referring to wallpaper or colorful china, but rather the decorations you use on a kitchen table or coffee table. Simple is key and easy to follow up with in terms of cleaning. When you have a lot of small items laying around, it becomes much harder to clean them and keep them neat.
Coordinate your cleaning materials! Yes, the scent of your cleaning products matters and when you have clashing scents, it creates a harsh scent in your home, making it difficult to appreciate the cleanliness. If you like using citrus scents, stick to those scents for all cleaning products and your home will have a complimentary scent throughout. This tip also works well with candles in your home.
Lastly, take things one day at a time and tackle different rooms every day until you achieve your desired look and feel for your home. Once your home is clutter free and clean, you'll feel much more relaxed and ready to put your best foot forward.
Gracefully,
A Girl's Guide

things attractive people do/don't do (part 1)
*these are some things that are in the book i'm currently writing* also, we are superficial over here. if you don't get it, you don't get it.*
they know how to handle alcohol being a drunk, sloppy mess isn't attractive whether you're a guy or a girl.
they speak slower they don't speak a mile a minute and it entices people to actually listen to them because they aren't speeding through words.
they don't appear stressed. it takes a toll on your physical appearance. don't believe me? baggy eyes, thinning hair, skin breaking out, slacking off on hygiene, etc.
they don't have dominating behavior. nothing takes the fun out of anything more than someone who always has to be bossy and control every single thing everyone else does.
they have self-control. they know what's beneficial to them and what's not, and good-looking people won't indulge too much on the things that will ruin their image. this could be about food, the gym, or even managing their emotions.
they're not negative. imagine being with someone who always has a negative outlook or comment about anything and everything. it's annoying, uncool, and makes you look freaky.
again, these are just some of the things i've talked in further detail about the book i'm writing. i currently have a list of 82 attractive behaviors and physical appearance traits that's in the rough draft right now.
